Abstract

Local communities have the value of local wisdom in maintaining inter-religious harmony through cultural actions as the cultural basis that exists in their lives. One of the local wisdoms is local art that exists and is still being maintained today. The Purwajaya community of West Sumatra as one of the multicultural societies inhabited by various religions and ethnicities continues to maintain artistic media such as reog, Kuda Lumping and Kuda Kepang in maintaining harmony and harmony among religious communities. Thus, this article focuses on explaining the art of reog as a medium to maintain religious harmony in Purwaraja, West Sumatra. By using qualitative research as well as interview and observation techniques in data collection, the authors found (1) The multi-ethnic and religious Purwajaya community always upholds harmony among others, both among religious communities and between religious communities. (2). Reog art in Purwajaya is held at Purwajaya Anniversary, RI Anniversary, welcoming guests and community events such as circumcisions, thanksgiving, and other events. (3). Reog art as a medium in maintaining religious harmony is reflected in the function of entertainment and communication which contains social values, educational values and religious valuesMasyarakat lokal memiliki nilai kearifan lokal dalam mempertahankan kerukunan antar umat beragama melalui tindakan budaya sebagai basis kultural yang ada dalam kehidupannya. Salah satu kearifan lokal itu adalah kesenian lokal yang ada dan masih dipertahankan sampai saat sekarang ini. Masyarakat Purwajaya Sumatera Barat sebagai salah satu masyarakat multikultur yang dihuni oleh berbagai agama dan etnik terus mempertahankan media kesenian seperti reog, kuda lumping dan kuda kepang dalam mempertahankan keharmonisan dan kerukunan umat beragama di antara mereka. Dengan demikian artikel ini focus menjelaskan tentang kesenian reog sebagai media untuk mempertahankan kerukunan umat beragama di Purwaraja Lima Puluh Kota Sumatera Barat. Dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif serta tekhnik wawancara serta observasi dalam pengumpulan datanya penulis menemukan (1) Masyarakat Purwajaya yang multi etnik dan agama selalu menjunjung tinggi kerukunan antar sesama, baik sesama umat beragama mapun antar umat beragama. (2). Kesenian Reog di Purwajaya dilaksanakan pada acara HUT  Purwajaya, HUT RI, penyambutan tamu dan acara warga seperti pada saat acara khitanan, syukuran, dan acara-acara lainnya. (3). Kesenian Reog sebagai media dalam mempertahankan kerukunan umat beragama tercermin dari fungsi hiburan dan komunikasi yang mengandung nilai-nilai sosial, nilai pendidikan dan nilai religi

Abstract

This study aims to look at the application of religious tolerance education in the context of religious moderation at SMA Negeri 12 Merangin, Jambi. Where SMAN 12 is a multi-religious school, and multi-religious organizations. Islam as the majority, secondly Catholicism, Protestantism.  The focus of the research includes the curriculum used, the application or implementation of tolerance values in the daily lives of students, and the impact of the application on inter-religious social interactions at school. The method used is descriptive qualitative. with a sociological approach to explore social interactions and meanings built by individuals in the school community, The informants of this research are Islamic Religious Teachers, Protestant Religious Coaches, protestants, Muslim students and Catholic Christian students, protestants. For data analysis using Miles and Huberman. The results showed that SMA Negeri 12 Merangin uses the Merdeka Curriculum, with teaching materials in the Islamic Religious Education and Budi Pekerti book which includes the topics of tasamuh, love for the country, and religious moderation. The school also has internal policies that support regular and collaborative interfaith religious activities. The practice of tolerance is evident in the daily lives of students and teachers. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan pendidikan toleransi beragama dalam konteks moderasi beragama di SMA Negeri 12 Merangin, Jambi. Dimana SMAN 12 multi agama, dan multi organisasi keagamaan. Agama Islam sebagai mayoritas, kedua katolik, protestan.  Fokus kajian meliputi bagaimana kurikulum yang digunakan, penerapan atau implementasi nilai-nilai toleransi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa, serta dampak dari penerapan tersebut terhadap interaksi sosial lintas agama di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan adalah diskriptif kualitatif. dengan pendekatan sosiologis untuk menggali interaksi sosial dan makna yang dibangun oleh individu dalam komunitas sekolah, Adapun informannya adalah Guru Agama Islam, Pembina Agama Protestan, protestan, siswa agami slam dan siswa agam Kristen katolik, protestan. Untuk anailisis data mengunakan Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SMA Negeri 12 Merangin menggunakan Kurikulum Merdeka, dengan materi ajar dalam buku Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti yang mencakup topik tasamuh, cinta tanah air, dan moderasi beragama. Sekolah juga memiliki kebijakan internal yang mendukung kegiatan keagamaan lintas agama secara rutin dan kolaboratif. Praktik toleransi terlihat nyata dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa dan guru, seperti kerja sama dalam kegiatan keagamaan, tolong-menolong, serta saling mengunjungi tanpa memandang latar belakang agama. Dampak dari penerapan nilai-nilai ini adalah terbentuknya suasana harmonis dan kebersamaan yang kuat di antara warga sekolah.

Abstract

Through an examination of the evolution of Imam Shafi'i's philosophy, this paper investigates the sociological distinctions between Qaul Qadim and Qaul Jadid in Islamic legal theory. Although Qaul Jadid is a modification of his views after he went to Egypt, Qaul Qadim refers to the legal opinions he presented while in Iraq. The purpose of this study is to identify the social, political, and cultural factors that shaped the change in Qaul Qadim to Qaul Jadid philosophy. This study analyzes the text and applies a historical approach as a qualitative technique. The findings indicated that in addition to regional variations, certain social and cultural shifts in Egypt necessitated amendments to the legislation to make it more relevant to the local population. The adaptability and flexibility of Islamic law in reaction to societal circumstances are highlighted by this research. It strengthens the debate on the evolution and dynamics of Islamic legal thinking and confirms the need for contextualization in the implementation of shari'ah law. Therefore, the knowledge of how Islamic law evolves and remains applicable in different social situations is greatly advanced by this study. Furthermore, a deep grasp of Qaul Jadid and Qaul Qadim supports Islamic law practices in addressing the issues of the modern world. It facilitates their guaranteeing the validity and relevance of sharia law in the many modern situations.

Abstract

Thesis on behalf of Doni Muliadi, NIM : 4318081, This thesis is entitled "Mamak's Persuasive Communication Against His Cousins ​​in the Application of Kato Nan Ampek's Philosophy in Nagori Koto Panjang. Student of Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Study Program, Faculty of Ushuluddin Adab and Da'wah. This study proposes two main issues, namely how the factors influence, the Forms of Mamak's Persuasive Communication Against Childhood in the Application of Kato Nan Ampek's Philosophy in Nagori Koto Panjang. The research method used is qualitative which is descriptive qualitative, with the aim of being able to describe the phenomenon of society in maintaining Mamak's communication with Kemanakan. The results of this study can be concluded that the factors that influence Mamak's Persuasive Communication regarding whereabouts are clarity of purpose, things that pay attention to the person who is the other person talking to, and the right way to invite friends to apply the Kato Nan Ampek Philosophy in Nagori Koto Panjang so that there is communication between mamak and whereabouts. Forms of Mamak's Persuasive Communication towards Kemanakan by inviting whereabouts to use persuasive words, kind words towards nephews with the aim of giving an impression that can be interesting to Kemanakans to apply polite words and repeat them, giving rewards for what is done whereabouts by giving good or bad threats and embracing events that attract public attention in the form of violations of customary norms which are often found by speaking harshly to other people so that the existence of Mamak's Persuasive Communication towards Kemanakan can change the application of the Kato nan Ampek Philosophy in Nagori Koto Panjang.

Abstract

The objective of this article is to examine the spiritual philosophy of Ibn al-‘Arabi especially the spiritual stages start from the religious teaching aspects (exoteric) and spiritual (esoteric). The complexity of Ibn al-‘Arabi’s teachings needs to be investigate to respond the accusations from the religious conservative groups that state the practices done by the spiritualists are deviant religious teachings and even are considered as strange behavior and a symptom of mental illness. Through literature study, this research uses descriptive analysis method or content analysis with a normative theological approach to Ibn Arabi's works. The present study first investigated how Ibn al-’Arabi explained the dichotomy between the exoteric and esoteric dimensions and also its impact on the psychology in his spiritual philosophy. The findings of this study showed that the stages of the spiritual such as repentance, asceticism, austerity, ecstasy, clairvoyance, and so on are the transcendental consciousness which cannot be understood using only the esoteric dimension, but also using the obedience toward the exoteric dimension. A true spiritualist such as the saints and the prophets are the spokesman for God on the earth to give the enlightenment of the life in the world.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore spiritual education as a way to anticipate patient anxiety. This study applies a mixed-methods approach, namely combining quantitative and qualitative methods. In the quantitative section, the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) instrument was used to measure the level of anxiety of respondents objectively before and after the intervention. Meanwhile, the qualitative approach was carried out through in-depth interviews to explore the experiences and perceptions of participants regarding the intervention given. The results of the quantitative study showed that spiritual education can anticipate patient anxiety. It was found that the level of anxiety in the pre-test for most patients was at a moderate level, with 73.33%, whereas the level of anxiety in the post-test for most patients was at a mild level, with 66.77%. Qualitative results support this finding, with participants reporting increased inner peace, a sense of sincerity, and decreased fear when hospitalized. Spiritual education can handle anxiety through material on monotheism, dhikr therapy, and prayer, which are very effective when applied in hospitals to reduce the anxiety of hospitalized patients.

Abstract

Application of the students’ code of conduct is a set of processes to define the values, ideas, ideals of ethics that must be obeyed by students. To implement and achieve these objectives, the academic community issued a code of conduct regulations contained in the Chairman's decision letter No. Sti.04.1 / PP.02.3 / 299/2011 which regulates the order, dicipline and student activities in STAIN Bukittinggi. This research revealed about the objective reality of students ethics, the implementation of the students code of conduct, and measures steps and effort to guide the students’ code of conduct in STAIN Bukittinggi. This research used a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches. Qualitatif more likely to use in-depth analysis of data, while the quantitative is limited based on the findings of the questionnaire. In these questionnaire research, the methods are combined to get the adequated and thoroughly results about the code of conduct. As this study is a combined approach, then in this case techniques of collecting data through questionnaires, interviews, and observations will be used.

Abstract

Community-based disaster management is an attempt to optimize the potential of social and local values in communities to facilitate the handling of natural disasters. West Sumatra as one of the disaster-prone areas in Indonesia has a number of local wisdom values—a value combining religion and local culture—rooted in traditional philosophy; “Adat Basandi Syara’, Syara’ Basandi Kitabullah”. The examples of those local wisdoms are customary ideas or proverbs in the form of legend and expressions, architectural design of the traditional house—“Rumah Gadang”—and the structure of the environment as well as the social systems of kinship and traditional administration in the form of Nagari. This research employed qualitative method by using ethnography approach. The data were collected through observations, participation in social events, and in-depth interviews. Those techniques were applied to obtain the valid information and the meaning of events and behaviors comprehensively. The local values applied by the indigenous communities as the victims of natural disasters in some regions of West Sumatra include “Badoncek” tradition in Nagari Tandikat Padang Pariaman, the architecture of “Rumah Gadang” in Nagari Sungayang, Tanah Datar and disaster mitigation based on district in Nagari Kubang Putiah Agam. Managemen bencana berbasis masyarakat merupakan upaya untuk mengoptimalkan potensi sosial dan nilai-nilai lokal yang dimiliki masyarakat untuk memudahkan proses penanganan bencana alam. Sumatera Barat sebagai salah satu daerah rawan bencana di Indonesia, memiliki sejumlah nilai kearifan lokal, sebuah nilai yang memadukan antara agama dan budaya lokal yang termaktub dalam filosofi adat; Adat Basandi Syara’, Syara’ Basandi Kitabullah. Di antara kearifan lokal itu adalah ide atau pepatah adat dalam bentuk tambo dan ungkapan-ungkapan, tata ruang rumah adat dari segi arsitektur rumah gadang dan penataan lingkungannya serta sistem sosial kekerabatan dan pemerintahan adat dalam bentuk nagari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, keterlibatan dalam kegiatan masyarakat dan wawancara mendalam. Teknik-teknik ini dilakukan untuk mendapat informasi yang valid dan mendalam serta menghayati makna atau arti peristiwa dan tingkah laku secara komprehensif. Adapun nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang diterapkan komunitas adat di Sumatera Barat meliputi tradisi badoncek di Nagari Tandikat Padang Pariaman, arsitektur dan tata kelola rumah gadang di Nagari Sungayang Tanah Datar serta mitigasi bencana berbasis nagari di Nagari Kubang Putiah Kabupaten Agam.

Abstract

The relationship between Islam and culture was compatible and not antonym. Islam was a dynamic product and a long-term process of giving and receiving in the dynamics and social interaction of its people. The contradiction between the ideal demands of religion and the demands of tradition and the social reality of society was a crucial problem faced by any religion in the world, but adjustments to social reality always occurred. The Islamic community in the Minangkabau border area was a cultural community that had and continued to confirm genuinely and became accommodative openness in resolving the contradictions of adat and Islam which were in principle very apparent in their cultural systems. Through ethnographic research, this article revealed that conflicts and contradiction between the normative concepts of Islam and adat always occurred in societies inhabited by the Minangkabau and Mandailing ethnic groups, especially related to marriage, kinship, inheritance system and communal property ownership. But the process always ran elegantly and attractively through the dialectics and dynamics of the people. Thus, Islam was culturally acculturated with Minangkabau culture and Mandailing culture and formed a distinctive cultural Islamic identity in the border area. Relasi Islam dengan kebudayaan adalah sesuatu yang selaras dan bukan antonim. Islam adalah produk dinamis dan proses dalam jangka panjang, yang saling memberi dan menerima dalam dinamika dan interaksi sosial masyarakatnya. Kontradiksi antara tuntutan ideal agama dan tuntutan tradisi serta realitas sosial masyarakat merupakan persoalan krusial yang dihadapi agama apapun di dunia, namun penyesuaian realitas sosial selalu terjadi. Masyarakat Islam di daerah perbatasan Minangkabau adalah komunitas budaya yang telah dan terus melakukan konfirmitas secara genuine serta akomodatif terbuka dalam menyelesaikan kontradiksi adat dan Islam yang secara prinsip sangat kentara dalam sistem budaya mereka. Melalui penelitian etnografi, artikel ini mengungkap bahwa konflik dan pertentangan antara konsep normatif Islam dengan adat selalu terjadi dalam masyarakat yang dihuni oleh etnik Minangkabau dan etnik Mandailing, terutama masalah perkawinan, kekerabatan, sistem kewarisan dan kepemilikan harta komunal. Namun proses itu selalu berjalan secara elegan dan atraktif melalui dialektika dan dinamika masyarakatnya. Sehingga, Islam secara kultur berakulturasi dengan budaya Minangkabau dan budaya Mandailing dan membentuk identitas Islam kultur yang khas di daerah perbatasan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji religiusitas masyarakat korban bencana Galodo Marapi di Bukik Batabuah, Kabupaten Agam, dari perspektif antropologis menggunakan teori religiusitas Glock & Stark. Studi ini menyoroti bagaimana peristiwa bencana tidak hanya berdampak pada kerusakan fisik, tetapi juga mendorong peningkatan praktik keagamaan, kesadaran spiritual, dan solidaritas sosial di kalangan masyarakat. Data wawancara menunjukkan adanya penguatan dimensi keyakinan, praktik ritual, pengalaman keagamaan, pengetahuan agama, dan konsekuensi perilaku religius pasca-bencana. Hasil penelitian menegaskan bahwa religiusitas berperan penting dalam membentuk ketangguhan komunitas, mempererat hubungan sosial, dan meningkatkan kesadaran kolektif untuk menjaga lingkungan dan kehidupan keagamaan. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi bagi pengembangan program mitigasi bencana yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai religius dan kearifan lokal sebagai sumber daya utama dalam resilensi sosial dan spiritual.
