Abstract

هذا البحث يدرس المعنى العلائقي لكلمة "جن" في القرآن الكريم باستخدام نظرية السيمانتية القرآنية لتوشيهيكو إيزوتسو. تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي النوعي لتحليل هذا المفهوم من منظور لغوي. تم جمع البيانات من خلال دراسة أدبيات القرآن الكريم وتفاسير العلماء مثل قرطبي وابن كثير. يسلط التحليل الضوء على تنوع معاني الجن في سياقات الآيات المختلفة في القرآن، ويحدد علاقاتها العلائقية مع الكلمات الأخرى في النص المقدس. تُظهر نتائج البحث أن الجن لا يشير فقط إلى الكائنات الغيبية، بل يكشف أيضًا عن جوانب الخفاء والاحتجاب بأشكاله المتعددة. توضح استنتاجات هذا البحث فهماً أعمق لكيفية استخدام القرآن الكريم للكلمات لنقل معانٍ معقدة بشكل علائقي وسياقي.

Abstract

Religious language has become part of social life. Apart from functioning as an expression of religious devotion, religious language also contains the meaning of internalizing religious virtue, which has implications for social piety. This research aims to describe the Jum’at Berkah tradition at the Jogokariyan Mosque in Yogyakarta. This socioreligious tradition has strong roots in the doctrine of philanthropy and takes advantage of the momentum of Friday as a day that is believed to contain many blessings. Methodologically, this research utilizes qualitative research procedures and data collection through observation and interviews. By utilizing an anthropolinguistic perspective, this research finds several conclusions. First, the Jum’at Berkah tradition carried out at the Jogokariyan Mosque in Yogyakarta, is a cultural phenomenon of Muslim society closely related to the muscular and implicative elements of the Islamic language. Environmental, social, and religious understanding factors contribute to implementing Jum’at Berkah through Sego Jum’at. The use of the term Jum’at Berkah in giving charities is based on people's religious understanding. It explains that Friday is sayyidul ayyam, a good day, and distinguishes it from other days. Second, Jum’at Berkah has a religious impact with a socio-economic dimension, specifically increasing people's awareness of sharing, strengthening brotherhood ties with fellow humans, and competing to do kindness.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the application of Ibn Tufail’s humanistic approach in teaching listening (istima’) skills in Arabic language learning, focusing on its potential to enhance comprehension through active student engagement. Listening skills are fundamental to understanding Arabic; however, many teaching methods remain technical and mechanical, often overlooking critical thinking and reflection. Ibn Tufail, a 12th-century Muslim philosopher, emphasizes learning through direct experience and intellectual freedom, encouraging learners to relate auditory input to their personal experiences. This qualitative study explores students’ and teachers’ perspectives, experiences, and perceptions of istima’ instruction and the humanistic approach at Prof. Muhajirin Applied Islamic School in Palembang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and focus group discussions. The findings reveal that applying Ibn Tufail’s principles fosters active student participation and the development of teaching content that connects listening materials with learners’ experiences, ultimately enhancing the quality of Arabic language education.

Abstract

This paper examines the stylistic devices in Hisyam Algakh's poem At-Ta’syirah from a pragmatic stylistic perspective, emphasizing its profound aesthetic and communicative richness. The study aims to identify and analyze these devices and understand the deeper meanings conveyed. At-Ta’syirah's exquisite language and intricate figurative expressions make it a compelling subject, offering unique insights into the poet's artistic genius. Employing a qualitative method with a stylistic analysis approach, the study focuses on identifying majaz, Jinas, Istifham, and ta’kid. Results show At-Ta’syirah contains 12 majaz, 6 Jinas, 7 Istifham, and 1 ta’kid. Analysis reveals majaz conveys profound connotative meanings, Jinas adds beauty and rhythm, Istifham intensifies rhetorical questions, and ta’kid emphasizes main ideas with persuasive force. These devices not only enrich the poem's meaning but also invite readers to contemplate deeper messages, showcasing its exceptional literary merit. From a pragmatic stylistic view, their use serves a profound pragmatic function, demonstrating the intrinsic link between linguistic form, aesthetic appeal, and conveyed meaning. This research underscores At-Ta’syirah's unique importance as a stylistically brilliant work, contributing valuable insights to Arabic poetry and pragmatic stylistics.

Abstract

Language learning should focus more on communicative orientation. However, in practice, the teaching of Arabic in Indonesia faces numerous challenges, particularly in the learning process, which often does not align with the goals and expectations of teachers. This study aims to describe the design of Arabic language instruction based on language immersion for teachers at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah level, addressing aspects such as competence, strategy, and assessment in teaching. This research employs a literature review approach, examining documents related to language immersion models as a reference for designing the ideal competencies, strategies, and evaluations for Arabic language learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah. Data analysis in this study uses the Miles and Huberman model, which includes the following steps: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The design of Arabic language instruction at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah level requires the coordination of multiple parties, such as teachers, in planning the lessons and the school in supporting processes and activities related to Arabic language learning. Arabic instruction at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah level can be carried out inside and outside the classroom, drawing on experiences and examples of activities from Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) that can be implemented at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah level. Furthermore, the learning of Arabic in schools for students at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah level should resemble how they learn their mother tongue at home.

Abstract

Memes are not only used as a means of entertainment, but memes are used as a communication medium to convey certain messages that are conveyed implicitly. This study aims to analyze Arabic memes uploaded on the @asa7bess Instagram account using Grice conventional implicature theory perspective. Type of this study is descriptive-qualitative. The data in this study are Arabic memes containing words, phrases and sentences accompanied by pictures. The data source of this study is Arabic memes found on the @asa7bess Instagram account. The data in this study was collected using the documentation method, which consists of two techniques namely the select technique and the note technique. The data analysis technique in this study refers to the stages of qualitative analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results show that the memes on the Instagram account @asa7bess convey conventional implicatures that can be widely understood without the need for specific context. These implied messages appear through a combination of visual and verbal elements that reflect the norms or common knowledge of society, and are grouped into three main categories: photos of one individual with a sentence, photos of two individuals with a sentence, and photos of two individuals with a dialog

Abstract

Dari keterangan sebagiaan besar ahli sejarah dapat diketahui bahwa filosof-filosof muslim tidak lahir sejak awal kedatangan Islam. Pada zaman nabi, sahabat dan tabii’n boleh dikatakan belum lahir seseorang filosof dikalangan kaum muslimin. Hal ini tidak berarti bahwa umat Islam dan agamanya tidak mementingkan filsafat, atau tidak mementingkan perbuatan berfikir, menggunakan akal. Pada waktu itu umat Islam juga sudah menggunakan akalnya didalam berbagai aspek kehidupan didalam hubungannya dengan agamanya. Hanya saja penggunaan akal mereka itu belum begitu teratur, belum begitu bebas, belum begitu mendalam. Barangkali hal itu disebabkan masih adanya Nabi sebagai tempat bertanya, atau masih adanya para sahabat. Cara berfikir mereka dapat dikatakan masih belum logis dan belum filosofis. Akan tetapi didalam al-Qur’an maupun hadist cukup banyak bukti-bukti yang menunjukkan bahwa Islam adalah agama yang sangat mementingkan berfikir, sangat menghargai akal-fikiran. Diantara bukti-bukti itu ialah: ”Sesungguhnya ditentang kejadian langit dan bumi dan perselisihan malam dan siang itu, ada beberaoa tanda bagi orang-orang yang mempunyai fikiran.”  ,,Barang yang pertama dijadikan Allah ialah akal; tidak terdapat sesuatu yang utama dijadikan Allah selain dari padanya”. ,,Merenungkan  ciptaan dan bikinan Allah satu Ketika lebih utama dari pada sembahyang tujuh puluh jam”. Pemikiran filosofis pada umat islam tidaklah muncul serentak sekali jadi, sekali waktu, tetapi melalui proses pertumbuhan berangsur-angsur, setapak demi setapak. Pada permulaannya, lahirlah pemikiran-pemikiran didalam bidang ilmu kalam disamping permasalahan fiqih. Maka lahirlah para ahli kalam (mutakallimin) disamping para ahli fiqih (fuqoha).

Abstract

The word caliph is a word that is quite popular among the Islamic community in general and Indonesian society in particular. Along with its development, with the existence of Islamic movements such as HTI, MMI, and FPI which are oriented towards the establishment of an Islamic state and the enforcement of Islamic law, the word caliph has experienced a shift in meaning in Indonesian society. The focus of this research is to reveal the shift in the meaning of the word caliph in Indonesian society in terms of social historical factors. The research data is in the form of books and journals relevant to the research collected through reading and recording techniques, then analyzing it and explaining the conclusions obtained. The result of this research is that the word khalifah, which basically means ‘behind’ or ‘substitute’, has shifted to become ‘the leader of the Islamic state’, ‘the leader who enforces Islamic law’, and ‘the leader who protects the religion of Islam and the leader who calls the people away from evil things’.

Abstract

This research analyzes the framing strategies of BBC News Arabic and Al Jazeera in reporting the Israeli–Palestinian conflict after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Using Pan and Kosicki’s framing model, a qualitative descriptive-comparative method was applied to examine two news reports across four dimensions: syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The findings show distinct patterns: BBC News Arabic frames the conflict as unresolved, emphasizing Israel’s unachieved objectives, while Al Jazeera challenges Netanyahu’s victory claim and stresses Palestinian resilience. Beyond textual framing, these differences reveal contrasting ideological orientations in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict post-2024 context. BBC reproduces a state-centric and diplomatic discourse aligned with Western narratives, legitimizing Israel’s continued operations, whereas Al Jazeera advances a counter-hegemonic stance that resonates with Global South audiences by foregrounding resistance and anti-colonial struggle. These findings demonstrate how media framing not only structures news text. الملخص تدرس هذه المقالة استراتيجيات التأطير التي اعتمدتها بي بي سي العربية والجزيرة في تغطية الصراع الفلسطيني–الإسرائيلي بعد وفاة يحيى السنوار. وباستخدام نموذج بان وكوسيكي، اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المقارن النوعي لتحليل خبرين عبر أربعة أبعاد: النحوي، النصي، الموضوعي، والبلاغي. أظهرت النتائج اختلافاً واضحاً: بي بي سي العربية صوّرت الصراع كعملية لم تكتمل بعد، مؤكدة أن أهداف إسرائيل لم تتحقق، بينما رفضت الجزيرة رواية نتنياهو عن النصر وأكدت على صمود المقاومة الفلسطينية. و تكشف هذه النتائج عن توجهات أيديولوجية متباينة ؛ إذ تعيد بي بي سي إنتاج خطاب دبلوماسي متمركز حول الدولة ومنسجم مع السرديات الغربية يضفي شرعية على العمليات العسكرية الإسرائيلية، في حين تقدم الجزيرة خطاباً مضاداً للهيمنة يبرز المقاومة والنضال ضد الاستعمار، مما يتجاوب مع جمهور الجنوب العالمي. وتؤكد هذه النتائج أن التأطير الإعلامي يتضمن على بناء النصوص الإخبارية و صراعات أيديولوجية أوسع في تشكيل التصورات العالمية حول الصراع. Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi framing BBC News Arabic dan Al Jazeera dalam pemberitaan konflik Israel–Palestina pasca kematian Yahya Sinwar. Dengan menggunakan model framing Pan & Kosicki, penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif-komparatif ini menelaah dua teks berita melalui empat dimensi: sintaksis, naskah, tematik, dan retoris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan yang jelas: BBC News Arabic membingkai konflik sebagai proses yang belum selesai dengan menyoroti tujuan Israel yang belum tercapai, sedangkan Al Jazeera menolak klaim kemenangan Netanyahu dan menekankan keteguhan perlawanan Palestina. Lebih jauh, perbedaan tersebut mencerminkan orientasi ideologis yang kontras dalam konteks pasca-2024. BBC mereproduksi wacana negara-sentris dan diplomatik yang selaras dengan narasi Barat serta melegitimasi operasi militer Israel, sementara Al Jazeera menghadirkan posisi tandingan (counter-hegemonic) yang menekankan resistensi dan perjuangan antikolonial yang dekat dengan audiens Global South. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa framing media tidak hanya membentuk struktur teks, tetapi juga mencerminkan kontestasi ideologis dalam membangun persepsi global terhadap konflik.
