Abstract

Appendicitis or inflammation of the appendix is one of the emergency cases that many teenagers experience. Lack of knowledge and appropriate preventive attitudes are significant risk factors. The use of interesting educational media such as animated videos is believed to be able to increase adolescents' understanding of the importance of healthy living behaviors to prevent appendicitis. Research objectives To determine the effect of animated video education on the level of knowledge and attitudes in efforts to prevent appendicitis in adolescents at SMP Negeri 3 Meulaboh. Method This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest and cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 277 students, who participated in animated video education on January 24, 25, and 31, 2025. Research results There is a significant influence between animated video education on increasing adolescents' knowledge and attitudes in efforts to prevent appendicitis with statistical test results p-value = 0.000 <? = 0.05). Conclusion: Education using animated video media is effective in increasing knowledge and forming positive attitudes in adolescents in preventing appendicitis.

Abstract

Penyakit gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) menunjukkan peningkatan prevalensi, termasuk di kalangan remaja, akibat pola makan tidak sehat dan gaya hidup modern. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran siswa SMA dalam pencegahan GERD melalui pendekatan edukatif menggunakan metode 7 Day DASH Eating Plan, yang merupakan penerapan baru dalam edukasi gizi di lingkungan sekolah menengah. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Meureubo dengan melibatkan 20 siswa, menggunakan metode edukasi interaktif, simulasi penyusunan menu sehat, dan pembagian booklet panduan. Hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan siswa sebesar 70%, disertai perubahan positif pada pemahaman, sikap, dan perilaku terkait pola makan sehat. Kebaruan program ini terletak pada integrasi diet DASH sebagai strategi praktis, terstruktur, dan mudah diadaptasi oleh remaja, yang sebelumnya lebih banyak diterapkan pada populasi dewasa dengan penyakit kardiovaskular. Temuan ini memiliki relevansi luas dalam konteks kesehatan masyarakat karena menawarkan model promosi kesehatan berbasis sekolah yang dapat direplikasi untuk menurunkan risiko penyakit pencernaan dan non-komunikabel sejak remaja.

Abstract

Background: GERD is one of the most frequently encountered and currently experienced problems an increase in prevalence every year. Apart from an unhealthy lifestyle, lack of knowledge can also be a risk factor for teenagers experiencing GERD. With the sophistication of technology, we can easily increase our knowledge with various media, one of which is animated video media. This type of research is quantitative research using a quasi-experiment design with one group pre-test post-test. This research collected data at SMA N 2 Meulaboh. The sample in this study was 210 respondents using probability sampling techniques. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The research results found that applying animated videos could influence the level of knowledge about GERD in adolescents with a P value of 0.000. Research conclusion: There is an influence of animated videos on the level of knowledge of GERD in adolescents.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah penderita dispepsia ini menimbulkan berbagai masalah karena dapat mempengaruhi  kualitas hidup dan menurunkan aktivitas fungsional. Pola makan yang tepat dan teratur akan mempengaruhi penyembuhan dan penurunan kejadian dispepsia itu sendiri. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan pola makan terhadap kejadian dispepsia di Poli Umum UPTD Ujung Padang Rasian Kecamatan Pasie Raja Kabupaten Aceh Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini kuantitatif analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 74 responden dengan teknik accidental sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square dengan tingkat signifikansi α= 0,05 (95%). Hasil penelitian diperoleh pola makan dengan kejadian dispepsia (p = 0,000 α 0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pola makan yang tidak teratur dapat menimbulkan kejadian dispepsia pasien di UPTD Puskemas Ujung Padang Rasian Kecamatan Pasie Raja. Diharapkan kepada Puskesmas melakukan promosi kesehatan terkait pola makan sehat untuk mencegah terjadinya dispepsia pada masyarakat.

Abstract

GERD salah satu maalah yang paling sering ditemui dan laju prevelensi tiap tahunnya mengalami peningkatan. Pola diet DASH  yang kaya akan nutrisi dapat berpotensi menurunkan HCL dan menekan kejadian GERD. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain quasy-eksperimental with one group pre-test post-test. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data di SMK N 1 Meulaboh. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 72 responden dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisa data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa dengan menerapan pola diet DASH terhadap penurunan HCL dan pempengaruhi angka kejadian GERD pada remaja dengan nilai P value 0,000. Kesimpulan peneliatian Adanya pengaruh pola diet DASH terhadap kejadia GERD pada remaja

Abstract

Anemia continues to pose a serious global health concern and is particularly widespread in developing countries such as Indonesia. Adolescent girls face a heightened risk of iron deficiency anemia due to menstrual blood loss, which leads to nearly double the iron depletion experienced by boys. Video-based educational interventions provide an accessible means of improving young people’s knowledge and attitudes toward anemia prevention. This study examined the effect of animated educational videos on the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls regarding anemia. A total of 71 participants were involved, and data collection took place in June 2025 using a structured questionnaire assessing knowledge and attitudes toward anemia. Univariate and bivariate analyses were conducted, and the Wilcoxon test was applied to determine changes before and after the intervention. The results showed significant improvements in both knowledge and attitudes after participants viewed the animated video. These findings indicate that animated video education is an effective strategy for strengthening adolescents’ understanding and fostering positive attitudes toward anemia prevention. Health workers are encouraged to expand the use of video-based health promotion to support anemia prevention initiatives among young people.
