Abstract

Chili is one of the horticulture crops with the highest commercial value. Farmers can cultivate chili in intercropping systems with water spinach plants as a land-saving alternative. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal chili planting distance and water spinach planting timing for increasing chili plant growth in chili-water spinach intercropping cultivation. A factorial randomized group design was adopted in this study. The first consideration was the spacing between the chili plants, which measure 50´70 cm and 50´50 cm, respectively. The second aspect was to plant water spinach at the same time as chili, one week after planting (1 WAP) chili, and 2 WAP chili. The findings indicate that optimum spacing and planting time for water spinach can improve the growth of chili plants. When chili plants were spaced 50´70 cm apart, their height and number of leaves increased dramatically. When compared to other treatments, the planting time of water spinach 1-2 WAP chili resulted in significantly higher plant height and number of leaves. All growth variables examined were significantly influenced by the interaction of 50´70 cm and water spinach planting time 2 weeks after chili planting. Abstract

Lamongan Regency is one of the regions with significant potential for aquaculture development in East Java. This study aims to map the potential of aquaculture in Glagah, Turi, and Karangbinangun Districts as a basis for sustainable aquaculture development planning. The methods used included primary data collection through field observations and interviews with fish farmers, as well as secondary data obtained from the Lamongan Regency Fisheries Office. The research stages consisted of identifying geographical conditions, aquaculture land area, leading commodities, number of aquaculture households, and cultivation systems applied in each district. The results showed that Glagah District has high potential for brackish water aquaculture with milkfish and vannamei shrimp as the main commodities. Turi District is dominated by freshwater aquaculture such as catfish and tilapia using traditional systems, while Karangbinangun District has developed semi-intensive to intensive aquaculture systems. The main constraint faced by farmers is the limited availability of production inputs, particularly subsidized fertilizers, which increases production costs. In conclusion, aquaculture potential mapping is essential as a foundation for policy formulation and the development of more effective and sustainable aquaculture in Lamongan Regency.

Abstract

Keterbatasan sumber daya air di lahan tadah hujan menjadi tantangan utama bagi petani, terutama selama musim kemarau, yang membatasi aktivitas budidaya dan berdampak pada pendapatan rumah tangga. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut melalui penerapan teknologi irigasi tetes bertenaga surya dengan sistem kecerdasan buatan menggunakan sensor kelembaban dan suhu tanah di Kelompok Tani Kabupaten Lamongan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi perancangan dan instalasi sistem irigasi otomatis, pelatihan penggunaan teknologi kepada petani, serta pendampingan budidaya cabai selama musim kemarau. Hasil program menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 90% petani mengakui manfaat dari irigasi otomatis ini dan berencana untuk menerapkannya, baik secara mandiri (25%) maupun melalui kelompok tani (32,5%). Selain itu, 35% petani memilih untuk mengombinasikan sistem irigasi otomatis dengan metode konvensional untuk menyesuaikan kebutuhan air sesuai musim. Penerapan teknologi ini tidak hanya memungkinkan petani untuk tetap menanam di musim kemarau, tetapi juga meningkatkan pendapatan mereka secara signifikan. Kesimpulannya, teknologi irigasi tetes bertenaga surya yang dilengkapi kecerdasan buatan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air dan kesejahteraan petani, serta dapat direplikasi untuk mendukung ketahanan pangan dan produktivitas pertanian di wilayah lain.
