Islamic religious education aligns with this initiative by emphasizing moral behavior, respect, and prohibiting harmful actions such as bullying and discrimination. Research objectives: This study aims to formulate the concept of implementing child-friendly schools from the perspective of Islamic religious education in elementary schools in North Kalimantan. Methods: Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving 10 school principals, 15 Islamic religious education (PAI) teachers, and 30 students from elementary schools in Bulungan, Tarakan, and Tana Tidung regions. The findings reveal six main elements: (1) conducive and religious learning atmosphere, (2) adequate facilities, (3) exemplary and quality teachers, (4) integration of local cultural content in the curriculum, (5) a safe and peaceful school environment, and (6) active involvement of parents and school committees. Conclusion: A combination of Islamic teachings and local cultural wisdom fosters a holistic child-friendly school model. The integration of Islamic values with child-friendly school principals enhances inclusivity and emotional well-being. This study introduces a context-specific integration of religious and cultural values into child-friendly school frameworks. Theoretically, it expands the understanding of child-friendly education through an Islamic perspective. Practically, it offers actionable guidelines for sustainable implementation. Socially, it emphasizes collaboration between schools, parents, and communities.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to introduce the concept of acid-base reactions to the students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ihya Ulumiddin in Banjarmasin through a simple experiment involving vinegar and baking soda. The selection of this material is based on the importance of early understanding of basic chemistry concepts to build critical and analytical thinking skills in children. In this activity, students are introduced to the phenomenon of acid-base reactions directly through a safe and simple experiment that can be conducted in the madrasah environment. The students are encouraged to observe the changes that occur when vinegar (acetic acid) is mixed with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), which produces carbon dioxide gas. With this experimental-based learning approach, it is hoped that students will better understand and apply the concept of acid-base in daily life and foster their interest in natural sciences. This activity is expected not only to enrich students' scientific knowledge but also to provide an enjoyable and engaging learning experience beyond the theories taught in class.

Abstract

This study highlights various national issues, especially the increasing concern for moral degradation within society, affecting both ordinary citizens and the educated alike. This degradation manifests in prevalent acts such as student brawls, drug abuse, promiscuity, immoral acts, and even other unlawful behaviors like widespread corruption. Addressing these issues requires an approach rooted in local wisdom, one notable example being the local wisdom values of the Tidung tribe in North Kalimantan, which can serve as a foundation for developing character education in Indonesia. This research aims to explore the Tidung tribe's local wisdom values that can subsequently be implemented in developing character education based on Tidung local wisdom. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing primary data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving customary figures, education stakeholders, teachers, and Tidung tribal community members. Data analysis involves data reduction, display, verification, and triangulation. The findings of this study indicate: ngejaga tengkayu (protecting the marine ecosystems), tenguyun (like to cooperate), suang bagas begambus kamad bagas inteladus (simplicity and independence), tulid dalom ukum (honesty), beadob de ulun tuo (manners to parents), bais penyawo (kind), impong de lunas insuway (having a high sense of solidarity), tetulu (life advice), and bepakot (deliberation). These local wisdom values of the Tidung tribe can form the basis for strengthening character education in Indonesia, especially in North Kalimantan.
