Abstract

Google Trends is an alternative and effective tool for predicting candidate popularity and election results with a simple method. This research aims to analyze and compare the popularity of Indonesia's 2024 presidential candidates using Google Trends. This research uses Google Trends as a tool. Data is taken from December 2022-December 2023 with the keywords 'Anies Baswedan', 'Ganjar Pranowo', and 'Prabowo Subianto. Crowed data is visualized using facilities provided by Google Trends, Canva and  Flourish Studio's Data Visualization Software with three focus analyses: Interest over time, Interest by Region, and Related queries. The findings of this research show that the trend of searching for information about Indonesia's 2024 presidential candidates has been crowded since October 2022 and increased significantly until December 2023. The popularity of Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo on Google Trends was the same when each candidate made a declaration. Anies gained full popularity with 100 achievements, as well as Ganjar Pranowo gained full popularity when declared by Megawati Soekarno Putri with 100 achievements. However, the facts were very much different on the day when the Gerinda Party declared Prabowo Subianto. Prabowo's popularity when measured by Google Trends is only perched at position 30 while other candidates are above Prabowo, namely Ganjar 100 and Anies 78. Prabowo's popularity rose on August 13, 2022, which managed to get 100, Anies rose to 79 and Ganjar dropped to 57 even though it was only one day apart. These three candidates have different voter bases in the 2024 presidential election. Anies Baswedan's searchers on Google Trends are spread almost throughout the province. While Ganjar Pranowo excelled in Central Java, while West Papua, Maluku and Sulawesi many wanted to know Prabowo Subianto's information.

Abstract

Covid-19 is still a very big concern for the Indonesian people and there are many losses caused by this pandemic. The government makes policies in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, with the enactment of the PSBB as stated in Government Regulation No. 21 of 2020. This virus has a huge impact on the economy because it reduces people's income, whether it's the poor or those who can afford it. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been asked to obey government rules, namely to keep their distance and stay at home, which makes it difficult for people to stay healthy. communicate verbally. To overcome the decline in people's income due to Covid-19, the Indonesian government issued a policy by providing assistance in the form of money or often known as Direct Cash Assistance (BLT). It can be concluded that the distribution of Village Fund BLT is on time and follows the existing mechanism. Meanwhile, in terms of the accuracy of making choices, it can be concluded that the village government has worked according to the procedure. This is based on the statements of the people who directly felt the impact of BLT and were direct actors in the field. Keywords: BLT, Covid-19 Virus, Social Distancing

Abstract

This study investigates the toxicity of comments on the ‘Makan Siang Gratis’ Program features on the Liputan6 YouTube Channel. Using the Toxicity Comment Analysis Method, the study aim to identify, measure, and understand the level of toxicity in user comments. Data were collected through the Communalytic platform, which facilitates automated data retrieval from the official YouTube API. This tool was used for comment scraping, which was then analyzed using the toxicity analysis feature to obtain toxicity scores based on indicators such as the severity of comments, hate speech, target identity, and threats contained within the comments. The findings show that while most comments had low toxicity scores, some comments exhibited higher levels of toxicity, particularly in the categories of severe toxicity and profanity. Comments with higher toxicity scores have the potential to disrupt constructive conversations and create polarization among user, diminishing the quality of interactions. Several toxicity, although rare, tends to trigger strong emotional responses, escalate conflicts, and lower the overall quality of discourse. Similarly, profanity and insults reduce the inclusivity of discussions, causing some users to refrain from participating. Identity attacks, though infrequent, can target individuals based on their characteristics and threaten the diversity of opinions in discussions. This study underscores the importance of moderation to manage toxic comments and maintain an online space that is respectful and inclusive.

Abstract

Abstract. After the demise of Suharto’s regime, Indonesia’s 1945 Constitution was successfully revised from 1999 to 2002. This period of constitutional revision added emphasis to avoid authoritarian administrations such as those experienced during the times of Sukarno and Suharto; consequently, the constitution was re-designed to limit the powers of the government. This article examines the trajectory of constitutional practices in the post-constitutional revision by taking into account emergency provisions exemplifying the new challenges of democratization in contemporary Indonesia. Currently, emergency provisions are amongst the unamended norms in the 1999-2002 agenda of constitutional revision. As a consequence, authoritarianism threatens the future of liberal democracy in Indonesia, especially the enjoyment of civil and political rights. Hence, this analysis elucidates the extent to which the deficit is inherent to Indonesia’s revised constitution on emergency laws and how this deficit threatens the design of liberal constitutionalism. Selected cases were collected to illustrate how Indonesia’s current constitution is reflected, articulated, debated, and negotiated toward the idea of legally limited powers. The deficits have resulted in two major adverse impacts; first, the ambiguous provisions on emergency laws prevail as they are mentioned in Articles 12 and 22 of the 1945 Constitution; second, the President’s monopoly on the power to issue emergency laws is a result of the absence of limitations outlined in the constitution. While the monopoly of such a power is often utilized by the government under the backdrop of constitutional legitimacy, there is a possible effort to eschew potential authoritarianism to add the constitutional restraint to presidential powers in the agenda of constitutional revision. Keywords: constitutionalism, emergency provisions, Indonesian constitution Batasan Kekuasaan Presiden untuk Ketentuan Darurat di IndonesiaAbstrak.

Abstract

Noni (Morinda citrifolia) contains bioactive compounds, but it has an unpleasant odor caused by caproic acid. Due to essential oil compounds, ginger and lemongrass can be used to reduce the unpleasant aroma of noni fruit. This research aims to evaluate the effect of ginger and lemongrass with varying concentrations of noni juice on physicochemical and sensory characteristics noni drink. The study employed a completely randomized design with six treatments and four replications. Physicochemical data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's post hoc test, while sensory data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results indicated that the type of ginger and concentration of noni juice significantly influenced the chemical characteristics. A concentration of 10 ml of noni juice affected the physical and sensory properties of noni juice beverage, but this was not observed at a concentration of 20 ml. The best formula resulted from treatment with a concentration of 10 ml of noni juice and the addition of 10 ml of lemongrass, with an overall score of 4.13 (liked). This was attributed to the flavonoid content of 0.290 mgQE/ml, polyphenol content of 0.3500 mgGAE/ml, vitamin C content of 0.114 mg/ml, antioxidant activity of 17.65ml, as well as satisfactory scores for taste, aroma, and aftertaste. Keywords: Caproic acid, Drink, Noni, Spice.
