Abstract:The objective of this research is to describe effectiveness of Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique of cooperative learning model in improving electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions and redox reaction concept masteries. This research used quasi expewriment method with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Population in this research was all Grade X students in YP UNILA senior High School in Bandar Lampung from classroom X1 to X11 in event semester of academic year 2011/2012. Samples were classroom X3 and X4 as experiment classrooms using NHT learning model. Samples were selected using purposive sampling. Clasroom X4was selected as control by using conventional learning.The results showed that N-gain average values of concept masteries in experiment and control classrooms were 0.599 and -0.477 respectively. The hypothesis test results showed that the classrooms with NHT technique of cooperative learning model had higher levels of activities and concept masteries compared to classroom with conventional learning. The conclusion of this research was that the NHT technique of cooperative learning model was effective in improving electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions and redox reaction concept masteries. The objective of this research is to describe effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving in improving communication and inference skills in buffer and hydrolysis lesson. Samples in this research were students of State Senior High School 1 Tumijajar of classes XI Sciences 2 and XI Sciences 3 even semester School Year 2011-2012 that have equal academic abilities. This research used a quasi experiment method with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving was measured by significant differences in control class and experiment class, shown by significant gain. Based on the results of this research, average value of N-gain for communication skills in control and experiment class were 0,53 and 0,65; and average value of N-gain for inference skills in control and experiment class were 58 and 0,66. Hypothesis testing in this research used test two average different with t-test. Hypothesis result test show that class that used learning model of problem solving had higher communication and inference skills than class with conventional learning model. This indicated that learning model of problem solving was effective to improving communication and inference skills in buffer and hydrolysis lesson. The aim of this research was to describe the effectivity of problem solving learning to increase students originality thinking ability on the reactions rate of chemistry subject. This research used Non Equivalent Control Group Design and the sample was choosen using purposive sampling. Population of the research, was tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Gedong Tataan at first semester in the 2013/2014 year and the sample were, XI science 1 and XI science 3. The effectivity of problem solving learning was analyzed based on the differences of significant n-Gain between experiment and control classes. The results showed that the average n-Gain score in experimental and control were 0,67 and 0,38. Based on hyphothesis testing (t-test), it can be concluded that problem solving learning is effective to increase students originality thinking ability on the reactions rate of chemistry subject.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi laju reaksi. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Gedong Tataan semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 dan sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA3. Efektivitas pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir orisinil pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,67 dan 0,38. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis (uji-t), diketahui bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi laju reaksi.Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir orisinil, laju reaksi, model problem solving

This research was aimed to describe the discovery learning model to increase students’ flexibility thinking skills on acid-base matery. The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was all students grade XI in science class of SMA Negeri 1 Pagelaran whose sit in second semester academic in year 2013/2014. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique then obtained XI IPA1 and XI IPA2 classes as sample of reseach. The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control and experiment classes. The results showed that the average n-Gain in control and experiment classes respectively 0,34 and 0,63. Proving the hyphothesis (t-test) showed that discovery learning model is effective to increase students flexibility thinking skills on acid-base matery.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir fleksibel siswa pada materi asam-basa. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pagelaran semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014. This research was conducted to develop student worksheets based on problem solving on electrolyte and non electrolyte solution. This research used the method of research and development (RD). The research phase begun with design and made the initial draft based on literature studies and field studies with teacher and student respondents. Then carried out the development of student worksheets and validated by an expert. Characteristics of student worksheets that validated include aspects of readability, construction, and suitability content which validation results in the category strongly agree. The next phase was limited trial to find out teacher and student responses from XthIPA 2 SMAN 13 Bandarlampung. Results of teacher and student responses was included in the category strongly agree. The conclusions of this research showed that development result of student worksheets based on problem solving is good to use.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS berbasis problem solving pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (RD). Tahap penelitian diawali dengan perancangan dan pembuatan draft awal berdasarkan hasil studi pustaka dan studi lapangan dengan responden guru dan siswa. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pengembangan LKS dan divalidasi oleh seorang ahli. Karakteristik LKS yang divalidasi tersebut meliputi aspek keterbacaan, konstruksi, dan kesesuaian isi materi dengan hasil validasi termasuk dalam kategori sangat setuju. Tahap selanjutnya dilakukan uji coba terbatas untuk mengetahui tanggapan guru dan siswa kelas X IPA 2 SMAN 13 Bandarlampung terhadap LKS yang dikembangkan. Hasil tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap LKS termasuk dalam kategori sangat setuju. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah hasil pengembangan LKS berbasis problem solving baik untuk digunakan.Kata kunci: larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit, LKS, problem solving

The purpose of this research was to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning to improve critical thinking ability and concept mastery to Arrhenius’ acid base. This research used quasi eksperiment method with pretest – posttest non equivalent control group design. Populatian in this study was all students of SMA N 13 Bandar Lampung. Sample was collected through cluster random sampling, it was obtained XI IPA 1 as eksperiment and XI IPA 6 as control. Effectiveness was evidenced by n-Gain value used t-test, supported by teacher's ability and effect size. The results showed that critical thinking ability and concept mastery of students (n-Gain) had medium criteria, teacher's ability had very high criteria and effect size had large criteria. Based on this result, discovery learning is effective to improve critical thinking ability and concept mastery to Arrhenius’ acid base.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperiment dengan desain pretest – posttest non equivalent control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA N 13 Bandar Lampung. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Keefektivan dibuktikan melalui nilai n-Gain menggunakan uji t serta didukung oleh kemampuan guru dan uji ukuran pengaruh. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa (n-Gain) dengan kriteria sedang, kemampuan guru yang sangat tinggi, dan ukuran pengaruh yang besar. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, model discovery learning efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius.Kata kunci: discovery learning, kemampuan berpikir kritis, penguasaan konsep, asam basa Arrhenius

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving to increase student’s elaboration thinking skills on electrolyte non-electrolyte. The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. The population of this research was all students in X class of SMA Negeri 4 Metro whose sit in odd semester of academic year 2013-2014 and the samples were X7 and X2 of science class. The effectiveness of scientific approach was measured based on the significant difference of n-Gain score between control class and experiment class. The result of research showed that the average n-Gainscore of student’s elaboration thinking skills for experiment class was 0,66 and 0,51 for control class. Based on the hypothesis testing, it was known that scientific approach learning was effective to increase student’s elaboration thinking skills on chemical equilibrium material. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir elaborasi siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit non-elektrolit . Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. This research was done to describe the effectiveness of using LKPD based on discovery learning to improve students collaboration skill and concepts mastery of the material equation of the rate and reaction order. A quasi experimental was used in this research which the design is a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this research was XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class and XI MIPA 2 as a control class, it was taken with a purposive sampling technique. The improvement of the students can be seen from the average n-Grain scores and based on effect size of collaboration skill and concept mastery through LKPD based on discovery learning. The results showed that the n-Grain scores of collaboration skill and concept mastery through LKPD based on discovery learning improved significantly with conventional learning. It can be concluded that students collaboration skil and concept mastery of the material equation of the rate and reaction order through LKPD based on discovery learning is effective. Besides, another result of LKPD based on discovery learning showed that there was a moderate in students collaboration skill and there was a huge in students of concept mastery.Keywords: the effectiveness, LKPD based discovery learning, collaboration skills, mastery of concepts.

This research was conducted to describe the effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving in improving classification and prediction skills. This research used a quasi experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Subjects in this research were students of SMAN 1 Bandar Sribhawono Even semester of classes XI IPA1 and classes XI IPA2 School Year 2011-2012. The effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving was measured by differences in understanding of the beginning and end of the students understanding shown by the mean N-gain between control and experimental classes. Statistic analysis is used of this research is average two differences test with uji-t. Based on the results of this research, average value of N-gain for classification skills of control and experimental classes is 0.53 and 0.70; and the average value of N-gain for prediction skills of control and experimental classes is 0.53 and0.63. Based on the results of this hypothesis test, known that classes with problem solving learning had classification and prediction skills more higher than classes with convensional learning. This shows that a model of problem solving is effective in improving the classification and prediction skills students of SMAN 1 Bandar Sribhawono.Keywords: Problem Solving, classification skill and prediction skill

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning to increase student’s evaluative thinking ability on acid-base subject matter. The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research were students in XI science class of SMA Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung in odd semester of academic year 2013-2014. Technique sampling was purposive sampling technique and obtained XI 1 and XI 2 of science class as the samples. The result showed that the average n-Gain value of student’s evaluative thinking ability for control class and experiment class were 0,22 and 0,53 respectively. Based on the hypothesis testing, it was concluded that problem solving learning was effective to increase student’s evaluative thinking ability on acid-base subject matter . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir evaluatif siswa pada materi asam-basa.
