Abstract

Stunting is a serious health problem in Indonesia, especially in rural areas such as Mugarsari Sub-district, Tasikmalaya. This condition is caused by a lack of adequate nutritional intake during a child's growth period, which can result in impaired physical and cognitive development. This community service aims to increase community awareness and knowledge about the benefits of Moringa oleifera, or Moringa leaves, in stunting prevention. Community service activities include education, training, and mentoring to the community regarding the planting, processing, and consumption of Moringa oleifera as a critical source of nutrition. The results of this program show an increase in community awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and the potential of Moringa oleifera as a natural solution in overcoming stunting. In addition, the programme also succeeded in encouraging the community to independently utilise Moringa oleifera in their daily diet, which in turn is expected to reduce the stunting rate in this region.

Abstract

Melon is a horticultural crop that has high-income potential, but in 2023 the production of melon in Indonesia declines drastically. Hence, research and collaboration to increase the production of melon in Indonesia is essential. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of NPK fertilizer and chicken manure fermented on growth and yield of melon (Alisha variety). This study conducts by analysing the effect of combination of NPK fertilizer and chicken manure fermented on growth and yield Cucumis melo L. alisha variety using Randomized Group Design (RGD) consisting of 7 treatment combinations. The parameters of plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, fruit weight, and the level of sweetness (oBrix) of melon fruit were analyzed using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at P<0.05. The results show that 300 kg/ha NPK fertilizer + 0 t/ha chicken manure fermented gave the best growth and yield with a melon weight of 61.50 t/ha, however, it was not significantly different from the combination treatment of 100 kg/ha NPK fertilizer + 15 t/ha chicken manure (F) on fruit weight per plot. The results of this study will be the basis of considerations in using a combination of NPK and chicken manure fermented to increase the growth and yield of Cucumis melo L. (Alisha variety).

Abstract

Gold-mine tailings, challenging environment for plant growth, was our study focus. Introducing nitrogen-fixing bacteria (NFB) and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) provides nutrients and phytohormones for plant growth. A pot experiment was designed to assess the corn growth on tailing inoculated with NFB and PSB. The research, conducted in a completely randomized block design, was replicated seven times; the treatments were : without inoculation (control), single inoculation of Azo-7.2, single inoculation of BPF-9, a mixture of Azo-7.2 and BPF-9. The results revealed that inoculation of NFB and PSB significantly increased plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, and P-uptake but did not affect leaf area, chlorophyll content, root length, S/R ratio, N-uptake, and plant biomass, and NFB and PSB count in the rhizosphere. Single inoculants of BPF-9 and mixed inoculants increased plant height by 1.2% to 7%, stem diameter, leaves number, and S/R ratio; only mixed inoculation increased N-uptake, however, Azo-7.2 potential to enhance leaf area, chlorophyll content, and corn biomass. The population of NFB and PSB in the rhizosphere of all treated and control plants was slightly lower than the initial population. The research, in particular, verified that the corn growth on tailings inoculated with NFB and PSB was better than that of uninoculated.

Abstract

The moringa plant, often called a miracle tree, has long been valued for its medicinal and industrial uses. This community service project aimed to educate students at the Murottalul Quran Al Muminun Islamic boarding school and residents of Cilembang about the benefits of moringa, focusing on its cultivation and processing into nutritious, high-value moringa tea. The program sought to improve health, boost local economies, and encourage better use of natural resources. Activities included training on moringa cultivation, tea production, and ongoing evaluation. The project aimed to optimize vacant land use, enhance community health, support environmental sustainability, and create new economic opportunities in Cilembang, Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

The problem found by the researchers was the lack of student motivation in learning mathematics. Teachers must try to create innovations to make learning fun, that is, through learning media. Learning media that can create motivation and student activity is interactive learning media in the form of multimedia with Articulate Storyline. This study aimed to develop and analyze the effectiveness of using interactive learning media developed using Articulate Storyline in the learning motivation view. This research includes development research with a 4D model from Thiagarajan. It consists of define, design, develop, and dissemination stages. The study was conducted at MA Assa’adah Jamanis Tasikmalaya. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis techniques are validity, practicality, and effectiveness analysis. The study results stated that the learning media was feasible based on the validation of material experts and media experts and student responses. Learning motivation increased seen from before and after using interactive media created using Articulate Storyline. There is also an increase in student learning outcomes based on the average pre-test and post-test results. The use of these learning media can increase students' learning motivation to participate in learning. Interactive media are recommended as a learning resource or learning media that can be combined with varied learning models/methods.
