Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Economic Value Added (EVA), Market Value Added (MVA), and liquidity on stock returns at the companies incorporated in the LQ45 index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory method. The data used is secondary data from the company's annual financial statements for the 2021-2023 period. Samples were selected using purposive sampling method with the criteria that companies are consistently listed in LQ45, have complete financial reports, and record net income during the study period. Based on these criteria, 28 companies were obtained as samples. Data analysis was carried out with multiple linear regression, determination test (R²), model feasibility test (F test), and hypothesis testing (t test). The results showed that EVA, MVA, and liquidity have not been able to explain stock returns based on the feasibility of the model used. However, based on the results of hypothesis testing, only EVA has a positive and significant effect on stock returns, while MVA and liquidity do not show a significant effect. These findings suggest that investors consider economic value creation (EVA) more than market value and liquidity factors in making investment decisions. This study provides a theoretical contribution regarding the importance of EVA as a predictive indicator of stock returns, as well as providing practical implications for investors in developing a corporate value-based investment strategy.

In energy companies, inflation, changes in interest rates, and the company's financial condition, such as profitability, liquidity, and leverage, are important factors that affect stock returns. This study analyzes the influence of these factors on energy companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2021–2023 and uses multiple linear regression tests. This study found that interest rates and profitability have a significant effect on stock returns, while inflation, liquidity, and leverage do not have a significant effect. These findings indicate that changes in interest rates can have a negative impact on stock returns, while profitability plays a role in determining the level of stock returns. Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of Islamic financial literacy among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Mataram. University students are an important part of society who are expected to possess sound financial literacy, especially since college is a critical period when they begin to live independently and manage their finances without direct parental supervision. The research employs descriptive statistical methods to provide a general overview of the data obtained from respondents regarding their basic knowledge of Islamic finance. The analysis results show that the average student score is below 60%, indicating a very low level of Islamic financial literacy. Beyond knowledge, the findings also reveal that students lack the attitudes, social motivation, and intention to apply Islamic financial literacy in their daily lives. Their ability to manage finances, such as planning for emergency funds, is also relatively low. This condition highlights the need to improve students’ knowledge and understanding so they can manage their finances wisely in accordance with Islamic principles.

Abstract

Infectious diseases are a problem for public health and can increase patient morbidity and mortality. Bacteria that cause infectious diseases include Streptococcus pyogenes and Proteus mirabilis. Inappropriate use of antibiotics can cause resistance problems and the effects of undesirable drugs. Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) leaf extract can be used as a natural antibacterial drug. There is a study showing the content of active compounds in the leaves of Jamblang are Flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, and saponins are components of chemical compounds that are suspected as antibacterial. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of Jamblang leaf extract against Streptococcus pyogenes and Proteus mirabilis bacteria. The method used is the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration method using well diffusion. The study used Jamblang leaf extract with various concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, the test bacteria used were Streptococcus pyogenes and Proteus mirabilis, using positive control of chloramphenicol, and negative control of 10% DMSO. The results showed that Jamblang leaf extract can inhibit the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes and Proteus mirabilis bacteria in all concentrations. In the Kruskall Wallis Non-Parametric statistical test the two bacteria obtained P <0.05.In Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria the value of P = 0.031, and Proteus mirabilis bacteria the value of P = 0.015. These results indicate a real difference in this study.

Abstract

During Initial Public Offerings (IPO), one of the most common anomalies associated with pricing is short-term underpricing. The main objective of this study is to contribute to previous academic research by examining the existing underpricing of companies that conducted Initial Public Offerings (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2022. With this objective, 58 companies that conducted Initial Public Offerings (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2022 were examined. This research is a causal associative research with a quantitative approach. In the analysis, the period of this study takes a relatively short-term period, namely the first day and the first seven days. Hypotheses were tested using non-parametric statistical testing methods, namely the Kruskal Wallis test. The empirical findings in this study are that when viewed from the abnormal/adjusted return shows that there is a short-term underpricing anomaly. This means that investors can get abnormal returns by buying the IPO shares. However, when viewed from the cumulative value, it shows that there is no short-term underpricing anomaly in companies conducting Initial Public Offerings (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2022.
