Abstract

Critical Path Method is one of the network analysis methods are used to plan , schedule and monitor the project . Network consists of EET, LET, and  float . Critical activities are activities that dont have the free time ( float = 0 ) so there should not be delayed,  because it will affect the completion time  of project This study aims to analyze the critical path of the project of making roll mill sheaths , identify waste and its cause on critical activities , and make network 's proposal to shorten the project completion time. Based on the research results, the highest score of waste iswaiting, this cause has22.43% score.This waste caused by the delay of material coming , waiting for the previous process, a limited quantity of machines and the operators is limited . After analysis using CPM method and create diagrams of network proposal,the result is production of 4 units roll mill which previously lasted 7 days can be shortened to 6 days with a critical path which must get special attention because if there is  delay in process it will affect to the other working processes which led to the delay in completion of the project. Abstract

Composite sandwich reinforcement  kenaf fiber polyester with Styrofoam core is an alternative material that has the potential to be developed as an application in various fields with an excess of nature that is strong, lightweight, rigid, able to withstand bending loads, impact, vibration damping and sound. This study is intended to overcome the problems of fishermen Muncar - Banyuwangi in the selection of materials manufacture of safe fish robust and insulated to preserve or maintain the freshness of the fish catch of fishermen low temperature. This study was conducted to determine the effect of variations in fiber volume fraction of the increase in impact strength and bending composite materials sandwich.Untuk get impact strength values ​​using the tool impact test with a maximum capacity of 300 joules specifications, pendulum mass of 20.9 kg, 0.83 m long pendulum arm, while to obtain bending strength values ​​using a universal testing machine capacity of 300 KN. Variations were used in this study is the percentage of fiber volume fraction of 10% fiber, 20%, 30%, and 40%. The results showed that the variation of fiber volume fraction of 40% had values ​​higher impact strength and bending of 0.30 Joules / mm² and 5,65MPa than the fiber volume fraction of 10% has impact and bending strength values ​​were lower at 0.14 joules / mm2 and 0.30 MPa. So in this study limits the variation of fiber volume fraction of 10% to 40% proved that if the greater the percentage of fiber volume fraction value will increase the value of impact strength and bending in composite sandwich. Abstract

Bicycle (human powered vehicles) is very popular transportation appliance in society, with all excess and its insuffiency. Design bicycle specially form and its size measure adapted for ergonomi of body  human being with the certain age, its meaning minibike just to children, while big bicycle just to adult or child with the high body. So that is not rarely met, at one particular family own some bicycle type, as according to its wearer. as a result required a broader place many for the menyimpan of bicycle. This matter enough become the big problem in cities, where farm for the house of progressively narrow. To finish the problem, this research designed and made by a bicycle which can be used by all age (except baby), the bicycle Flexy Bike. Flexy Bike is bicycle having function fleksible. That is bicycle which can be functioned in so many form and size measure, without lessening security and its freshment. Abstract

The presence of roof tile companies in Tamansari - Wuluhan - Jember has not shown the existence of synergies between companies and with other elements in order to improve innovation and business efficiency. This was reflected in most of the production process to the marketing of roof tile products that are still performed as an individual company. In other words, the concentration of roof tile companies in Tamansari stopped only to the extent of an industrial roof tile. Whereas, by making a group of roof tile companies in a certain area allows for collaboration between companies as well as with other elements in these area to improve business efficiency as well as the creation of a new innovation related to the roof tile industry. This researh aimed at identifying cluster variables of roof tile industry that will provide competitive advantage for the roof tile industry, and determine the cluster variables priorities that can be used as a reference to arrange a cluster development strategy in the future. Determination of the cluster variables based on the concept of Porter's Diamond Model. Roof tile industry cluster variables identified are: The Quality of Labor, Capital Access, Transportation Facilities, Telecommunication Facilities, Excellent Quality of Roof Tile, Suppliers Companies, Industrial Equipment Provider Companies, Roof Tile Buyer Companies, Financial Institutions, Transportation Companies, Distributors of Roof Tile Companies, Roof Tile Business Associations, Companies Strategy, Organizational Structure, Similar Companies, Job Training Centers, Universities, Corporate Tax, Legal and Quality Standards. Abstract

EDM wire is one of the non-conventional machinings that is currently widely used in the manufacturing industry because it can process workpieces with hard material and also produces excellent dimensional accuracy. This research was carried out with variable current, voltage and wire speed processes. While the response variable is the material removal rate and cutting width (kerf), this study aims to determine the effect of each factor on each response as well as on the combined response and to find the right combination of parameters to produce optimal response values. The results of the study stated that the current strong factor contributed 89.84% and the wire speed factor was 8.26% against the cutting width response (kerf). The current strong element contributes 87.88% to the material removal rate response. As for the combined response, the influential factor was wire speed with a contribution of 92.79%. The optimal combination of parameters in the combined response is 7 amperes, 5 volts and 10 m / s wire speed. The conclusion of this study informs that the smaller the current strength, the better the value of the cutting width, while the more significant the current force will result in a higher removal rate material. The factor that influences the combined response is wire speed, where the increase in the value of the wire speed increases the amount of the Gray Relational Grade from the combined response. Abstract

To meet the market needs a manufacturing industry is required to continue to improve the quality of production through improvements in the production process. One way that can be used is the analysis of quality improvement with Six Sigma methods. This research aim to reduce the number of defects that can increase the value of sigma production. Based on the analysis results obtained sigma value of its current production of 3.42 with DPMO value 27429. The final result may boost the improvement recommendations sigma value to 3.50 and decrease the number of defects from 54.94 grams to 45.5 grams.

Abstract

Corrosion is a form of damage that occurs in metals. The main factor is the cause of the corrosion environment. A53 steel is a type of low carbon steel and a steel material types that are widely used for pipe applications. The use of a corrosion inhibitor is one way of preventing corrosion. Anthocyanin substances contained in purple yam can be made in a natural inhibitor, because the substance is an antioxidant anthocyanin which is an oxidation inhibitor. Variables used were varied concentration of 0 ppm, 2000 ppm, 4000 ppm and 6000 ppm. This study aims to determine the rate of corrosion, purpel sweet potato extract efficiencies and changes in microstructure. The method used in this study is experimental, inhibitor efficiency analysis, ANOVA test and analysis micro photo. The results showed that the material is corroded by pitting corrosion and uniform shape. Values on concentration lowest corrosion rate of 0.0044 mmpy 6000 ppm and 6000 ppm at the highest efficiency of 72.70%. Keywords: anthocyanin, steel A53, natural inhibitor, purple sweet potato.

Abstract

Sand inclusion and pin hole are surface defects caused by molding sand. Therefore need by varying age sand and percentage of binder in sand molds. The purpose of this research to improve the quality of the product. Each treatment will through tensile strength test, then make a plate pattern for casted . Each plate will checked defects that occur, sand inclusion and pin hole . Data from this research will be analyzed using ANOVA factorial design 2x3. Abstract

Turning machining process is a warkpiece diameter reduction by using chisel cut to produce the shape of the workpiece on a turning, there are various types of machining turning chisel pieces on the turning chisel types include carbide, CBN, and insert. There are also other types on conventional chisel on a turning process, one of which is a turning type of high speed steel (HSS), the turning is widely used in coventional production processes for other than low cost is also easy to grinding. Parameter in this research is coolant and depth of cut. The coolant used is dromus, ex-oil, ex cooking oil. The depth of cut used is 0,3mm, 0,5mm amd 0,8mm. The highest of tool life in this reserch with dromus as coolant at 0,3mm depth of cut is 83,17 minutes. With ex-oil at 0,3 depth of cut the tool life is 70,79 minutes. And with ex-cooking oil the tool life is 56,77 minutes with 0,3mm depth of cut. While the lowest tool life be obtained with ex-cooking oil coolant at 0,8mm depth of cut is 38,90 minutes. So, the canclusion dromus is a batter then ex-oil and ex-cooking oil. This is caused when the dromus as coolant can mixed with water and become one so can get down temperture of chisel.

Abstract

At present plastic becomes inseparable from human life especially in the food and beverage industry. One of the methods used in the manufacturing process of plastic products is injection molding. Injection molding is one of manufacturing technique that consists of a series of cyclical processes and is used to produce thermoplastic materials. The effect of the combination of process parameters impact on the product results such as the quantity and quality of the product, the non-conformity of the parameters causes the production to be not optimal. One method that can be used for optimization is the taguchi method. The taguchi method is a set of special matrices called orthoghonal arrays that are used as reference in the determination combination of parameters and level values. The purpose of this research is to determine the optimal cycle time and net of the product on the process of making 180 ml bottle cap but by minimizing flash defects. The method used in this phase is ANOVA, and the calculation of taguchi method by using minitab 16 software. From the result of the research, the result of optimal condition is combination injection pressure 1320 bar, injection speed 50 mm/s, holding pressure 300 bar, and nozzle temperature 255oC produces a cycle time value of 15.72 seconds and netto 3.56 grams. This result is better than the setting of the company that produces 16.66 seconds cycle time and entered in the net range of 4 ± 0.5 grams resulting in an increase in production of 5.97%. While with combination of injection pressure 1280 bar, injection speed 50 mm / s, holding pressure 300 bar, and nozzle temperature 245oC resulted in fewer number of flash defects compared to company setting that is 12 units from 80 units of sample.
