Abstract

This study aims to identify students’ mathematical higher order thinking skills (HOTS) through the implementation of a Flipped Classroom model grounded in the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework and supported by dynamic assessment. A mixed method approach with a concurrent embedded design was employed. The study involved 32 prospective mathematics teachers, divided evenly into an experimental group (n = 16) receiving TPACK based Flipped Classroom instruction with dynamic assessment and a control group (n = 16) receiving conventional instruction. HOTS were measured using a validated essay based test aligned with indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and problem solving. For the qualitative phase, three students representing high, medium, and low prior ability levels were purposively selected. Data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired and independent samples t-tests and N-Gain, while qualitative data were examined using open coding and thematic analysis. Descriptive results showed higher posttest scores for the experimental group (M = 74.3, SD = 10.4) compared to the control group (M = 55.1, SD = 9.0). The independent samples t-test indicated a statistically significant difference between groups (p < .05), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.65) and a moderate N-Gain of 0.58 in the experimental group. Qualitative findings revealed that the high ability student demonstrated complete alignment with HOTS indicators through coherent modeling and proof strategies, while the medium ability student exhibited accurate procedural reasoning and partial conceptual explanation. The low ability student showed limited abstraction but demonstrated incremental improvement through scaffolded feedback. The combined findings show that integrating TPACK based Flipped Classroom instruction with dynamic assessment supports deeper mathematical reasoning by linking pre class technological engagement with in class mediated learning. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating how dynamic assessment operationalized within a TPACK aligned flipped environment can strengthen students’ HOTS across varying ability levels.

Abstract

The increasing need for energy storage along with the development of portable electronic devices and electric vehicles is driving the development of lithium-ion battery (LIB) anode materials with higher and sustainable electrochemical performance. Commercial graphite currently used as an anode still has limitations in the theoretical capacity and kinetics of lithium ion diffusion. Graphene aerogel (GA), with its porous three-dimensional structure, high surface area, and interconnected conductive network, it has attracted attention as an alternative anode material to improve the specific capacity, velocity and stability of LIB cycles. This review article  was compiled through a literature study of research articles and review articles published in the 2016–2023 range, obtained from reputable scientific databases. The literature was analyzed comparatively to examine the relationship between synthesis methods, structural characteristics, composite formation, and electrochemical performance of graphene aerogel as a LIB anode material. The results showed that the three-dimensional aerogel structure rich in hierarchical pore defects was able to increase the specific capacity to more than 1400 mAh g⁻¹, improve the transport of Li⁺ ions and electrons, and maintain cycle stability at various current densities. The formation of composites with metal oxides or transition metals has also been shown to improve the electrical conductivity and storage capacity of lithium. However, most studies still rely on synthetic graphene or graphene oxide as a precursor, so the sustainability aspect of the material has not been fully integrated. Recent studies on LIB anode graphite recycling show great potential for conversion into high-value-added graphene aerogels, although their application as a battery anode material is still limited. Therefore, future research needs to focus on integrating the LIB anode graphite recycling approach with graphene aerogel synthesis  to produce a high-performance and sustainable anode material.

Abstract

This article compares the Ma'na Cum Magza approach of Sahiron and the Maqāṣidī Tafsir of Washfi 'Asyur and Abdul Mustaqim. The research methods used are content analysis and comparative methods. The results of the study show that in terms of patterns and technical procedures, both interpretation trends have similarities, but the theory of significance in Ma'na Cum Magza requires a more complex investigation including intertextuality, intratextuality, and macro-historical analysis. Therefore, technically, Ma'na Cum Magza makes it easier to trace the historical context of the revelation of verses, and makes it easier to determine the meaning and meaning that might have been understood by the Prophet Muhammad and his companions. Meanwhile, the investigation of meaning and meaning in Maqāṣidī Tafsir relies more on the analysis of maqāṣid usul al-khamsah (religion, soul, descendants, intellect, and wealth) as in maqāṣid shari'ah. On the other hand, relying on analysis on al-khamsah's proposal prioritizes caution in determining sharia law from verses, for example when it comes to understanding verses that are considered to contain gair ma'qulat al-ma'na according to the agreed interpretation of Islamic scholars. This comparison is just a sample, Tafsir Maqasidi's analysis model has several models other than these three thinkers.
