Abstract

The research conducted aims to determine the ability of students in solving physics problems using Polya's theory and the difficulties experienced in solving problems. The method used is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 15 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tambolaka City. Data collection using test instruments in the form of essay questions and interviews to students. The results showed that, the ability of students in solving physics problems was in the high category 26%, moderate 7%, low 47% and very low 20% while aspects of student ability based on Polya's stages are students who understand the problem in the problem 10 students, plan the problem in the problem 9 students, carry out planning in the problem 8 students, look back at the answers in the problem 6 students. Thus the ability of students in grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tambolaka city is in the low category in solving physics problems. At the stage of understanding the problem and planning the problem some students have been able to solve it, but at the stage of carrying out the planning and rechecking the answers there are still many students who experience errors in solving it. The difficulties experienced by students are in determining equations, remembering magnitude and units, and calculating complex numbers.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the results of research on improving student learning outcomes through the Stad type cooperative learning model on the material on mixed whole number arithmetic operations in class VI SDK Weepangali. This research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method, with a stad type cooperative learning model, and includes two cycles, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are observation, tests, and documentation. The research location was at SDK Weepangali, the research subjects were 31 class VI students. The results of this research show an increase in student learning outcomes after applying the STAD type cooperative learning model to the material on mixed integer arithmetic operations. The increase in student learning outcomes can be seen from the results of this research, classical completeness before conducting the research was 49.19%, in cycle I the percentage increased to 51% and cycle II increased to 74%. Based on the results of this research, the researcher concluded that the STAD type cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes in the material on mixed integer arithmetic operations in class VI SDK Weepangali

Abstract

The Academic Potential Test is a test that aims to measure a person's abilities in the general academic field. This test is also often associated with intelligence. Currently, apart from selecting prospective students at universities, The Academic Potential Test has also become a standard test in the selection of Civil Servant Candidates and in the recruitment of private employees and employees of State-Owned Enterprises. Based on the background above, it is necessary to measure the ability of students from the Mathematics Education Study Program at Catholic University Weetebula in solving test questions. This needs to be done as a first step in determining the abilities of prospective graduates. The method used in this research was by giving a written test in the form of test questions to 56 students and interviews with 9 students who took the test. The instruments used were 40 test questions and an interview guide. The data analysis techniques used are reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The test results show that students who get the low category are 84%, students who get the Average category are 7% and students who get the high category are 9%. The interview results showed that students were able to understand the test questions given, but students had difficulty determining how to solve them, so students were unable to determine the correct answer

Abstract

The study aims to examine more about the kinds of plants that are used as natural dyes, how they are classified and described, what organs are used, what colours are generated, how to combine different plant types, and how to create patterns on Kodi Balaghar ikat cloth. The researchers employed a qualitative methodology, with observation, interviews, exploration, and documentation as the primary data-gathering modes. The results of this study show that there are nine types of plants used as natural dyes, namely: Indigo leaves (Indigofera tinctoria L.), Kesambi wood (Scheilchera oleosa), Kepuh (Sterculia foetida L.), Pule (Alstonia scholaris), Poison Sumac (Toxicodendron radicans), Yellow wood (Arcangelisia flava L.), Noni (Morinda citrifolia L.), Black rice (Oryza sativa L.), Rice (Oryza sativa L.). Descriptions of each type of natural dye plant have been made in full. The plant organs used are roots, bark, fruit, and leaves. The coloring process includes pounding, mixing with water, and soaking. The resulting colors are dark blue and black. The motifs produced include Kris flowers and buffalo eyes.

This research uses a qualitative method. The data was obtained from the results of observations, documentation interviews and analysis. The instruments used in this research are: observation sheets, interview sheets and documentation. Data analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that: The amount of biodiversity on the island of Sumba is reflected in the traditional equipment and materials used in the smelting process, which are divided into various categories. The making of Karaja ikat woven fabric consists of several stages, namely (1) preparing tools and materials such as Kijora, Doka, Koba, Bedo, Unna, Malirra, Analakatta, Hawungu, Rope raffia, scissors, thread, (2) determining the motif (3). tying motifs, (4) coloring motifs, and (5) weaving, the process of making weaving until it becomes fabric. The weaving process is also related to the material Physics of friction, pressure, gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy, material of plant biodiversity Biology, on Chemistry material, namely addictive substances. In conclusion, the manufacture of Karaja ikat woven fabric has ethnoscientific value, cultural values that are believed by the community to be used in science learning

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work motivation, work discipline, and work environment on teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Wewewa Barat. Teacher performance is widely recognized as a key determinant of educational quality and student achievement. It is shaped by various internal and external factors, including psychological, behavioral, and organizational aspects. To examine the complex relationship among these factors, a quantitative approach was employed using path analysis, allowing for both direct and indirect effect testing. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to all teachers at the school, making it a population study with 20 respondents. The findings from the F-test reveal that work motivation (X₁), work discipline (X₂), and work environment (X₃) collectively exert a significant influence on teacher performance (F = 18.761; sig. = 0.000). However, results from the partial test (t-test) show that only work motivation has a statistically significant individual impact (t = 7.468; sig. = 0.000), while the other two variables do not. Following model trimming to refine the regression equation, the final model retained only work motivation as a significant predictor, resulting in a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.756. These results highlight the central role of motivation in shaping teacher performance, with 75.6% of performance variability explained by motivational factors alone. Therefore, educational stakeholders are encouraged to prioritize policies and practices that cultivate intrinsic motivation among teachers, such as recognition systems, professional development, and supportive school cultures. The study provides valuable implications for improving educational outcomes through evidence-based teacher management strategies
