Abstract

Premarital sex among teenagers keeps soaring by the day across the globe. Indonesia is faced with high levels of sexual promiscuity among adolescents. This research aimed to examine the differences in premarital sexual curiosity between teenagers in rural and urban settings. The population for the research involved 266 senior high school students drawn from Kendari city and the rural area of Ladongi, Southeast Sulawesi, using the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling technique. The research method used a cross-sectional study with a comparative design using the Mann-Whitney Test. The results revealed differences in premarital sexual behavior (p = 0.026), media information (p = 0,000), school’s roles (p = 0,000), and first age of dating (p = 0.038) between teenagers in rural and urban setting. However, there was no difference in knowledge regarding premarital sexual behavior (p = 0.159) and peer pressure (p = 0.219) between rural and urban teenagers.

Abstract

Community empowerment begins with understanding that every individual and group has potential and abilities that can be developed. In Mamuju Regency, precisely in Tommo District, there is peat but it is small which if damaged and not managed properly will result in land fires, floods, and soil pollution. This assistance aims to position the community as a party that plays an active role in environmental recovery. One of the initial stages of assistance or empowerment activities carried out is Problem Identification and Situation Analysis. It is hoped that the problems faced can be clearly identified, the related situation can be analyzed comprehensively, and the next steps can be designed to plan effective and sustainable interventions. Strengthening the understanding of problem identification and location analysis is carried out using the IMAS tool through survey methods, interviews, and FGDs. The results of problem identification and situation analysis found several problems that can be used as references in formulating systematic and effective planning for community empowerment. Based on the results of the problem identification and situation analysis in Buana Sakti Village, Tamemongga Village, Tamejarra Village, West Leling Village and North Leling Village, problems were found in flooding, lack of fertilizer availability and the distance of the village from the city which makes it difficult to get fresh fish to meet the protein needs of the community. From the results of the problem identification and situation analysis, a Community Work Plan formulation was formed such as freshwater fish farming, long-term crop planting, horticultural planting, and livestock farming. The proposed work plan is expected to be able to help the community in meeting needs, improving the community's economy, and can answer problems that occur in each village.

Abstract

Beetroot is a food source that is rich in nutrient value, including carbohydrates, minerals, vitamin C and betalains as a source of, to secure the supply of shallots (bamer) is to encourage the use of True Seed Shallots (TSS) seeds for higher productivity. This research was conducted in Galung Village, Lombok, Tinambung District, Polewali Mandar Regency, using 38 respondents or farmers selected by simple random sampling, considering that the characteristics of shallot farming are homogeneous. Data processing was done using Descriptive Quantitative Analysis using the IBM Statistics SPSS Version 25 application to obtain correlation test results and Scatter Plots. This study aims (1) to determine the distribution of innovation adoption rates and (2) to determine the relationship between innovation adoption rates on the dependent and independent variables of the shallot commodity. The results of this study show the results of the distribution of innovation adoption rates, namely there are 16 farmers with high and low categories, respectively, and as many as six farmers in the medium category, and the results on the Spearman's rank correlation test obtained a value of 0.319, and it is stated that there is a relationship between the level variables of adoption of innovation and productivity. The Scatter Plot graph shows that in quadrant III, it is noted that the value of the level of innovation adoption and productivity has a tendency together to obtain a high value of the distribution.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This research aims to determine the relationship between peer groups and the learning independence of biology education students. Methodology: This type of research is quantitative with a correlation method. The population of this study was Biology Education Students, totaling 263 people with a sample size of 132 people. Sampling was carried out using Simple Random Sampling. The data collection techniques used are the learning independence scale and the peer group scale. The data analysis technique is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis with product moment correlation techniques. Main Findings: The research results based on descriptive statistical analysis show that independence in learning is in the low category with an average value of 88.56 and the peer group is in the medium category with an average value of 87. Meanwhile, the results of inferential statistical analysis show that rcount is greater than rtable or 0.27 ≥ 0.24, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between the peer group and the learning independence of students. Where is the sig value. 2-tailed is 0.00 ≤ 0.05. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research contributes to explaining the social aspects of independent learning that are often overlooked in previous literature. While much research has explored internal factors that influence learning independence, the emphasis on the role of peer groups as external agents influencing students' motivation, mindset, and learning styles, is an innovative focus point. This enriches our insight into how social interaction with fellow students can have a significant influence on the level of learning independence of Biology Education students.
