Abstract

Condyloma acuminata (KA), also known as genital warts or genital warts, is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The HPV subtypes that most often cause KA are 6 and 11, while subtypes 16 and 18 have the potential to cause cervical cancer. In the United States, there are more than 19.7 million new cases of sexually transmitted infections each year, with 14.1 million cases being HPV infections. In Indonesia, KA was ranked third largest in 12 teaching hospitals in the 2007-2011 period, with a high prevalence in the cities of Medan, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Jogja and Denpasar, especially among those aged 25-45 years. HPV transmission occurs through sexual contact and can also occur through direct contact with contaminated objects. This disease can attack various genital areas and shows symptoms such as warts, itching, and discomfort. State Senior High School (SMAN) 3 Bengkulu City needs health education to increase students' awareness about the importance of maintaining the health of the genital area. Many students still take their genital health for granted, which can trigger deviant behavior. Therefore, the Service Team from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu conducted outreach at the school in July 2024. This activity included a site survey, education about KA prevention, and evaluation. The results of the counseling show an increase in students' understanding of KA. The enthusiasm from the school and students is very good. Suggestions are given for the school to better control and accompany students to prevent trivialization of the disease, and students are expected to be more social and sensitive to the environment.

Abstract

Bullying is an aggressive act carried out continuously by one individual or group against another person who is physically, emotionally or socially weaker. These actions are often carried out with the aim of annoying, hurting, or dominating the victim. Bullying can occur in a variety of settings, including at school, the workplace, online environments, or in general society. Bullying can take many forms, including physical abuse such as beatings or physical attacks, verbal abuse such as taunts or threats, social abuse such as isolating or ostracizing someone, or online abuse such as sending insulting messages or posting derogatory content on social media. Bullying can also be direct, with the perpetrator taking action directly against the victim, or indirectly through spreading harmful rumors or gossip. The impact of bullying is very detrimental to the victim. They may experience mental health problems, including stress, anxiety, depression, and even thoughts of suicide. Victims of bullying may also experience a decline in academic performance, avoid school or work, and have difficulty building healthy social relationships. Prevention and handling of bullying is very important. Education about bullying awareness, development of social skills, and promotion of inclusive attitudes and respect for diversity can help reduce cases of bullying.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the intellectual biographies of the founders of the Raden Fatah State Islamic University (UIN) Palembang and their intellectual legacy in the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with historical methods, encompassing heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results indicate that the founders of UIN Raden Fatah envisioned a moderate, integrative, and scientifically advanced vision of Islamic education. Their thinking became the foundation for the institutional transformation of IAIN into UIN and strengthened the integrative-interconnected scientific paradigm within the university. This intellectual legacy has not only been influential locally but has also contributed to the development of Islamic education discourse in Indonesia in general.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris Linnaeus) is one of the fruit vegetables widely consumed by Indonesian people. The productivity of common beans in Jambi Province is relatively low compared to national productivity. One of the pests that attack common bean plants is the pod borer (Etiella zinckenella Treitschke), which requires control. Farmers typically use synthetic insecticides for control, but this method is less effective due to the larvae's behavior of attacking inside the pods. Furthermore, the use of synthetic insecticides can pollute the environment and be harmful to consumers. Therefore, alternative solutions, such as using resistant varieties, are needed. The use of resistant varieties aims to reduce the pest population during plant growth and to decrease the percentage of pod borer attacks. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of E. zinckenella attack on several upright common bean varieties, namely Balitsa Variety I, Balitsa Variety III, and Gypsy. This research was conducted by comparing three treatments: Balitsa I, Balitsa III, and Gypsy varieties. The observation variables included the percentage of infested pods, larval population, pod skin hardness, and pod skin thickness. The results showed that E. zinckenella attacked more common beans with thin and less hard pod skins because they were more susceptible to pest attacks, resulting in a higher percentage of infested pods and larval population. Pod skin thickness and hardness play an important role in the resistance of common bean varieties to E. zinckenella. Keywords : common bean, E. zinckenella, plant resistance
