Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of mind mapping teaching technique to the writing ability of tenth grade students of SMA S YP HKBP 1 Pematangsiantar in a descriptive text. This research was quantitative research. To get the answer for the research, the researcher used quasi-experimental design. The population of this research was tenth grade students of SMA S YP HKBP 1 Pematangsiantar that consisted of four classes. The sampling technique in this research was purposive sampling. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class X-3 used the mind mapping teaching technique as the experimental class and class X-4 used the guided writing teaching technique as the control class. To collect the data, the researcher used the test. The researcher used essay test as the instrument of the research. Paired-samples t-test was used by the researcher to test the hypothesis. The result of the research showed that the effect of mind mapping teaching technique was more significant than guided writing teaching technique. It was proved by the t-test value (2.52) > t-table (1,67). It means that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. The writing ability of students in a descriptive text in experimental class was improved since they were taught by mind mapping teaching technique. It is recommended that the result of this research can be used in order to develop the teaching technique at school.

Abstract

This study focused on finding out the effect of using mind mapping method of   in teaching writing descriptive text. The objective of the study is to find out whether or not the mind mapping method affects students’ achievement in writing descriptive text. This study was conducted by applying study case research. The subject of the study was the Second-year students of HKBP Nommensen University. The writer took group A which consists of 20 students used Mind mapping. The writer took one class as random sampling to see the effect of Mind mapping method in teaching writing descriptive text. The data were taken by giving writing test. The tests were divided into two tests: pre-test and post-test for both the second cycle and the first cycles. The mean score of cycle I class is 57 and the post-test is 85,55. The mean score of pre-test in the cycle I is 53,4 and the post-test is 82,1. It is conducted that the mean score of cycle II is higher than a the first cycle. The result that the calculated > t-table as the level of significance p=0.05 (4,48 >1.734). The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It is suggested that teachers of English subject apply Mind mapping method   as an alternative teaching technique to help writing ability at tenth grade students in university level.

Abstract

Program Kampus Mengajar merupakan salah satu inisiatif Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah dasar, terutama di daerah 3T (Terdepan, Terluar, Tertinggal). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Program Kampus Mengajar Angkatan 8 di SD 091345 Parjalangan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini telah memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan literasi dan numerasi siswa, peningkatan kemampuan adaptasi teknologi di kalangan guru, serta dukungan dalam administrasi sekolah. Namun, terdapat beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana serta adaptasi awal mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan sekolah. Solusi yang diusulkan meliputi peningkatan pelatihan bagi peserta program dan penguatan kolaborasi antara pihak sekolah dan mahasiswa. Kesimpulannya, implementasi Program Kampus Mengajar Angkatan 8 di SD 091345 Parjalangan berjalan dengan baik dan memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap kualitas pendidikan di sekolah tersebut.

Abstract

Existing research is part of a structural form of speech that will be adapted to communication aimed directly at events. Dieksi is a phenomenal part of linguistics with the aim of providing expressions of meaning in the context. The aim of the research is to describe the types of dieksis from the data by means of descriptions found in the Simalem Deman folklore. The focus of this research is to identify variations in existence so that the amount of data that is dominant in literary works is known. Furthermore, the method used is descriptive qualitative with reading and note-taking techniques. Based on research on various types of diexis, personal deixis was found with a total of 599 data, place deixis with a total of 43 data, time deixis with a total of 25 data found, discourse diexis found with a total of 146, and then social deixis with a total of 432 data.

Abstract

Pada tahun 2020, terdapat 68.858 kasus baru kanker payudara di Indonesia, dan kanker payudara merupakan kanker paling umum pada perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengetahuan dan sikap ibu hamil terhadap perilaku SADARI di Puskesmas Plawad Kabupaten Karawang Tahun 2023. Metode yang digunakan melalui pendekatan cross sectional yaitu melakukan pengumpulan data sekaligus hanya dilakukan satu kali. Menunjukan bahwa dari 99 responden sebagian besar yang melakukan pemeriksaan SADARI dengan tingkat pengetahuan yang baik yaitu sebesar 64 responden (100%), sedangkan yang melakukan pemeriksaan SADARI dengan tingkat  pengetahuan cukup sebanyak 12 responden (44,4%). Setelah dilakukan uji statistik dengan uji Chi-Square didapat nilai p value 0,000 (< dari ? 0,05) yang artinya ada hubungan yang bermakna antara tingkat pengetahuan terhadap prilaku SADARI di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Plawad Karawang tahun 2023. Berdasarkan analisis univariat didapatkan responden yang melakukan SADARI dengan sikap yang negative lebih kecil yaitu sebesar 1 responden (4,2%) sedangkan yang melakukan SADARI dengan sikap yang positif sebanyak 75 responden (100%). Berdasarkan uji statistic dengan uji Chi-Square didapat nilai p value 0,000 (< dari ? 0,05) yang artinya ada hubungan yang bermakna antara sikap terhadap prilaku SADARI di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Plawad Karawang tahun 2023. Ada hubungan yang bermakna antara pengetahuan dan sikap WUS terhadap prilaku SADARI. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan tambahan ilmu pengetahuan khususnya untuk wanita usia subur tentang deteksi dini kanker payudara dengan pemeriksaan SADARI.

Abstract

This community service activity in Sidakmukti Village, Sukaresmi District, Pandeglang Regency aimed to empower the creative economy through the utilization of plastic waste to produce paving blocks. The main problems addressed were the high accumulation of plastic waste in coastal areas and residential neighborhoods, combined with low public awareness of waste management. Using a participatory approach and support from the village head, the community actively collected and recycled plastic waste. An appropriate technology in the form of a plastic waste shredding machine was designed and operated by residents. The shredded plastic waste was mixed with sand to produce paving blocks that meet strength and aesthetic standards. These products are used as material for village access roads. The activity results showed increased awareness, skills, and new economic potential for the community. This empowerment model can be replicated to support sustainable development and environmentally friendly waste management.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Penguasaan Siswa dalam Menerjemahkan Ekspresi Idiomatik Bahasa Indonesia ke Bahasa Inggris dengan Menggunakan Terjemahan Ekivalensi. Peneliti mengambil mahasiswa semester lima Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Medan sebagai populasi penelitian. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 30 siswa yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik acak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan desain deskriptif kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah dengan memberikan tes terjemahan kepada siswa. Data dianalisis dengan memberikan skor tes penerjemahan, untuk mengetahui apakah siswa mampu atau tidak. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 17 siswa (57%) mampu dan 13 siswa (43%) tidak mampu mengidentifikasi padanan terdekat peribahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Inggris. Dari hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa Jurusan Bahasa Inggris FKIP Medan tahun 2011 mampu mengidentifikasi padanan ungkapan idiomatik bahasa Indonesia yang paling dekat dengan bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan terjemahan ekuivalen.
