Abstract

This study aimed to discuss religious mobility in urban Muslim community of Australia by investigating organizational projects and religious practices. In addition, ethnographic fieldwork was conducted, which included extensive interviews and participation in organizational meetings. The results showed that urban Muslim community in Australia contributed significantly to the development of Islamic education, Islamic altruism, and spiritual performance. In this context, social sensitivity was reported by establishing institutions representing Muslim identities, such as Islamic Community of Melbourne Eastern Region (ISOMER) in Melbourne, Islamic Science and Research (ISRA) in Sydney, and Australian Sufi Association (ASA). Furthermore, religious mobility and practices were exemplified as agents of social change through the promotion of community engagement, which served as a manifestation of social solidarity. The three communities engaged in the social sphere were oriented toward spiritual-moral-ethical values to determine social movements in the educational, social, or religious ideology.

Abstract

Produk terjemahan Al-Qur’an Yayasan Tauhid Indonesia (YATAIN) menghasilkan terjemahan yang berbeda dengan terjemahan Mayoritas Muslim indonesia yang diwakili terjemahan Al-Qur’an oleh kementerian agama. Fokus penelitian ini diarahkan pada model terjemahan  yang menggunakan pendekatan faham inkar sunnah. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori intertekstualitas untuk menganalisis keterkaitan dan perbedaan antara produk tafsir Al-Qur’an kelompok inkar sunnah Indonesia (lokal) dengan kelompok terjemahan ahlu qur’an (global). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi teks. Data utama diperoleh dari terjemahan kelompok Inkar sunnah Indonesia yang dipelopori Nazwar Syamsu dan Minardi Mursid dengan terjemahan Ahlul-qur’an global. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan terjemahan kata kunci tertentu seperti kata “sama’/langit” dalam konteks pengetahuan lokal dan global. Peneliti juga mempertimbangkan latar belakang sosio-kultural para penerjemah, metode terjemahan yang digukan dan dampaknya terhadap pemahaman pembaca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan dalam pendekatan terjemahan. Nazwar Syamsu dan Minardi Mursid cenderung menggunakan metode tafsiriyah dengan konteks ilmiah modern. Sementara terjemahan ahlul-Qur’an global lebih condong pada pendekatan literal. Walaupun sama-sama penganut paham inkar sunnah, keterkaitan intertekstual kedua karya hampir tidak ditemukan. Penelitian ini memberi wawasan baru tentang bagaimana latar belakang penerjemah dan konteks pendekatan yang berbeda mempengaruhi hasil suatu produk terjemahan tertentu

Abstract

The development of Islam in the Indonesian archipelago is closely tied to the networks of scholars, including those in the Mataraman region, where Mbah Yahuda played a pivotal role in transmitting Islamic knowledge in the southern area of Java. This study contends that Mbah Yahuda significantly contributed to the spread of Islam through pesantren, which served as centers of classical Islamic scholarship. His long-standing influence is seen in the establishment of major pesantren such as Lirboyo, Ploso, and Jampes in Kediri, as well as others in Trenggalek, Ponorogo, and Pacitan. These institutions share genealogical and intellectual connections that can be traced back to him. Preliminary genealogical data reveals three theories regarding Mbah Yahuda’s origins: a Middle Eastern lineage linked to Sayyidina Hamzah, evidenced by the historical gifting of the KamKam Sword; a Cirebon connection suggested by the presence of a nagasari tree near his tomb; and a Mataram royal lineage supported by genealogical records. His descendants, particularly the Egyptian clan, are associated with pesantren traditions focused on Qur’anic studies and Sufism, while others are known as scholars and government officials. Overall, the scholarly networks rooted in Mbah Yahuda underline the strategic contribution of Indonesian Islamic traditions to sustainable development goals, especially in quality education, peacebuilding, and cultural preservation.
