Abstract

Renewable energy is being used to lessen the consumption of fossil fuels. Solar energy is a common source of renewable energy. Solar energy is the most promising source of energy due to its long-term sustainability and availability. The output power of solar panels is strongly influenced by the intensity of sunlight and the temperature of the solar panels. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control, which aims to optimize the output power of solar panels, is commonly used to increase the efficiency of solar panels. However, MPPT control often causes overvoltage disturbance in systems directly connected to the load. To limit the output power of solar panels, additional Constant Power Generation (CPG) control is required. In this research, a solar panel system will be created to supply submersible DC pumps without any energy storage devices. DC-DC SEPIC Converter is designed with MPPT control combined with CPG control to limit the output power of the converter using the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System method by 150 watts. When the output power of the solar panel is less than the power limit, then MPPT mode will work. While CPG mode works when the PV output power is greater than the limit power. The results of this research showed that the system can provide optimal power generated by solar panels in MPPT mode by increasing efficiency by up to 33.04% and CPG mode can limit power to 150 Watts to avoid overvoltage disturbance at load.

Abstract

Nowadays, water heater is a common household appliance. Water heater can be divided into three types, based on fuel sources: gas, diesel, and electric. Electric water heater is the most common due to its ease of use. The problems that often occur on electric water heater are over-temperature due to user error in setting up the thermostat and inaccurate readings caused by a conventional system control. These problems will cause a surge in power consumption. Over-temperature and conventional control inaccuracies can be overcome using the Artificial Intelligence (AI) control algorithm in the form of an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The proposed algorithm acts as a control by maintaining the stability of the temperature to obtain more accurate results. An accurate temperature reading can lower power consumption in electric water heater. This study tries to simulate Electric Water Heater temperature control using the ANFIS algorithm until stable readings can be achieved in all temperature settings. Results from disturbance tests in the form of external condition that causes sudden temperature change show that the system can maintain stability with an average error margin of 0.045% and the rate of accuracy of 99.955%.

Abstract

Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for PV (Photovoltaic) systems is provided in this research using artificial intelligence-based control. The design of MPPT system with Anfis Method on the Zeta Converter with DC Load is used to optimize the work of the Photovoltaic which will be used for DC load sources. The MPPT process consists of four main stages, namely module training data, determining input and output data, determining the number and type of membership functions and ANFIS training data. Zeta converter works like a buck boost, which can increase or decrease the voltage which is an advantage in designing systems with very volatile Photovoltaic sources. Zeta Converter is used to get higher efficiency, smaller input and output current ripple values and smaller core losses in the inductor. To improve the efficiency of system performance, An MPPT algorithm for the adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) that is programmed into a microcontroller controls the zeta converter. ANFIS control is used because the response is faster and more effective. The combined simulation's findings demonstrate that the ANFIS control was successful, and the system can now produce the best possible power from Photovoltaic ipanelsiiniMPPT mode by boosting efficiency by up to 19.96%.

Abstract

Rechargeable batteries are the most widely used medium for storing energy today. One type of rechargeable battery that is widely used is lithium-ion batteries. The large use of lithium-ion batteries in society requires companies to conduct research so that the life time of these batteries can last a long time and charging can take place quickly. Charging system at this time is less efficient in charging lithium batteries where the time needed is still quite long where when lithium batteries are charged with a long time can cause the battery to heat up quickly and can reduce the life time of the battery. To overcome this, a system is needed that can control the battery charger process so that the output voltage and current are constant and battery charging is faster. It is hoped that the SEPIC converter system can help many people who forget to unplug the power supply during the charging process so as to maintain the life time of the battery. Setting the output voltage and current in the DC-DC converter can be done using an Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System which aims to keep the output of SEPIC stable according to the setting point. In this system, the DC-DC converter used is a SEPIC converter which can increase and decrease the output voltage for battery charging. The battery charging process uses the CC-CV method. In the test, the average error is 0.025% where when the SOC is 60% to 80% the average error is 0.04% and when the SOC is 80% to 95% the average error is 0.0005%.

Abstract

This paper proposed a converter design that functions as a voltage booster, increasing the input voltage while supplying two load outputs from a single voltage input using only one switch. Known as a single input double output (SIDO) converter, it aims to enhance power efficieny. The bisection method is employed as an output voltage controller through pulse width modulation (PWM) to achieve an optimal voltage value, adjusted to meet the load requirements. The loads used for independent home applications include a 72 V/12 Ah battery and a 24 V/22 W water circulation pump. The output of the high voltage level acts as a battery charger while the output of the low voltage level serves as an energy supply for the water cir-culation pump. The two loads were chosen because they are widely used, aligning with the goal of realizing independent home applications. The simulation test results showed that the voltage output for battery charging in constant voltage mode was 80.6 V, with an error of 0.0515%, and the voltage output for the water circulation pump was 24 V, with an error of 0.33%.

Abstract

This research aims to address challenges in efficient energy storage in electric vehicles, particularly those using lithium-ion batteries. The research focuses on voltage imbalances in battery packs with cells connected in series, which can reduce the battery pack's lifespan. We investigated active balancing charging methods using bidirectional fly-back converters in both pack-to-cell and cell-to-pack modes. Current charging methods face limitations such as prolonged balancing times, circuit complexity, and low efficiency. To overcome these challenges, this research proposes integrating an artificial intelligence approach using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) control. This approach allows for dynamic adjustment of duty cycles, expediting the balancing process. Experimental results show that employing ANFIS control can significantly reduce balancing times. In pack-to-cell mode, balancing time decreased from 660 seconds to 600 seconds, while in cell-to-pack mode, it decreased from 660 seconds to 580 seconds. This research makes a significant contribution to the development of more efficient charging technology for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles. Its potential implications include improved battery lifespan and electric vehicle performance in the future.

Abstract

Many motorized vehicles use non-environmentally friendly fuels causing more pollution. To tackle this, electric vehicles with battery technology are becoming popular. Many electric cars use Li-ion battery packs. However, these battery packs can have differences between individual batteries, affecting their performance. When electric cars accelerate, the batteries can get imbalanced, which shortens their lifespan. To prevent this, a balancing circuit is needed to make sure each battery cell stays equal. To get the balancing current according to the needs of each battery cell and switching network components. As a result, this research creates a cell-to-cell active balancing using the quasi-resonant buck converter that can reduce ripple from zeta converter output. Fuzzy type-2-BEC adjusts the duty cycle zeta converter circuits. The output is set equal to the average cell voltage. Four pieces of Li-ion are connected in the series at 14.4 V/3 Ah. To test the balancers, two variations were used to determine the system's reliability. From the test result, variation one can balance all cells at the 60 s, and variation two can balance all cells at the 150 s.
