Abstract

Based on the datas of health departement of Pontianak City, the Number of the refill drink water storehouse had been achieved 57. People as consumer of it have the right to get insurance of health and safety. Therefore there was needed to study bacte-riolgical test.This study was to get datas and to learn the coliform bacteriological contents of raw water and processed water on the refill drink water storehouse in Pontianak City. Raw water resource in Pontianak was 100 % derived from mountains. It covered 77.2 % of Anjungan, 12.3 % of Paniraman, 10.0 % of Sui Purun. It had Most Probable Coliform Number and Echericia Coli Number were 71.9 % and 59.6 % in sequence. These did not fulfill the requirements of health standard yet. Like wise, processed water of storehouse in Pontianak possessed 33.3 % of Most Probable Coliform Number and 15.4 % of E.Coli Number. The quality of raw water had significant coherence with Most Probable Coliform Number and Echericia Coli Number. Other factors that related to product of processed water quality were: The protection of raw water, disinfection processing, and water re-filling processing to plastic flask. Hence, the advice for processing manager of drinking water were to more taking a care the quality by disinfection pretreatment and protection. It was suggested for the health department to monitor and to evaluate continuesly at least every six months. It was recommended to people to choose selectively became customer of refill drinking water storehousers. Choose between them that had steril and saniter processing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of NaOH concentration and the ratio of monocloro acetic acid with chitosan used in the synthesis process to the degree of substitution and solubility in water. Preparation of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCts) was carried out by various concentration of NaOH and ratio of monochloro acetic acid with chitosan. The concentration of NaOH used in the alkalination process were 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50% (w/v). The ratio of chitosan: monochloro acetic acid used for etherification were 1:0,5; 1:1; 1:1,5; and 1:2 (w/w). Etherification was carried out at a temperature of 60°C for 2 hours. The results showed that the NaOH concentration of 10-30% (w/v) increased the substitution degree and solubility of produced CMCts. But at concentrations above 30% (w/v) the substitution degree and solubility were decreased. The ratio of chitosan : monochloro acetic acid also affect to substitution degree and the solubility of synthesized CMCts. The higher amount of monochloro acetic acid added to chitosan, the higher is substitution degree and the solubility of carboxymethyl chitosan synthesized in water. The best result was obtained when the ratio of chitosan : monochloro acetic acid were 1:2 (w/w). Within this ratio a 92.05% of yield was resulted with a solubility of 28.05 g/L and a substitution degree of 0.72.

Abstract

Uncaria Tomentosa plants grow around Pontianak and peat forests in West Kalimantan. The leaves of it turned out to have a high selling value, even some were exported abroad. The benefits of Uncaria Tomentosa leaves are as an ingredient in making herbal tea. This leaf has efficacy as a remedy for sore bronchitis, sore throat, water fat, tumors, asthma, and clamydia or sexually transmitted diseases, especially in young women. Departing from this, there needs to be publications that reveal scientifically about this plant. So that by knowing the content of compounds that are in the leaves can break the community to be able to process it from raw material into pure material so that it hopes will increase the sale value even higher. But to go there, of course, must first start from basic research. The content of chemical compounds in plants is called phytochemicals. This Plant has chemical compounds source that can be used as medicine. The method used in this research is experimentation in the laboratory. Using phytochemical screening tests following Novindriana, et. al. (2013) procedure. The result is that the ethanol extract of Uncaria Tomentosa leaves contains alkaloid, flavonoid, polyphenol, triterpenoid, steroid, saponin, and tanin compounds.

Abstract

Telah dipelajari uji kualitatif fitokimia ekstrak daun pepaya dan uji penghambatan terhadap Colletotrichum gloesporioides yang menyebabkan penyakit antroknose pada tanaman kakao (Theobroma cacao L.). Secara kualitatif, ekstrak metanol daun pepaya (Carica Papaya L.) menunjukkan adanya alkaloid, saponin, flavonoid, dan terpenoid-steroid yang positif. Ekstrak ini juga memiliki penghambatan terhadap penyakit antraknosa (Collectotrichum gloesporioides) setelah periode 10 hari dengan variasi konsentrasi menunjukkan data sebesar 8,4% (10 mg / mL), 14% (20 mg / mL), 17% (30 mg / mL) dan 20% (40 mg) / mL). Sementara itu, untuk periode 20 hari dengan variasi konsentrasi yang sama menunjukkan penghambatan 14% (10 mg / mL), 16% (20 mg / mL), 16% (30 mg / mL), dan 17% (40 mg / mL)).

Abstract

Gambir (Uncaria gambir roxb) belongs to family Rubiaceae and genus Uncaria. The content of chemical compounds in plants is called phytochemicals. Plants can be a source of chemical compounds that can be used as medicine. The method used in this study is an experiment in the Laboratory, using qualitative phytochemical testing following procedures (Tariq and Reyaz, 2012) and total phenol testing using the Folin-Ciocalteau method from Xu and Chang (2007). Gambir leaf tea characteristics approaching SNI 2013 are at a temperature of 90oC with a moisture content of 14, 3223% (db), 16.8312%. Ash content of 90oC 3,9326 with total phenol levels contained in gambier leaves 3.9 mg GAE/10mg. The compounds contained in gambir leaves include flavonoids, tannins and saponins.

Abstract

Potensi pengembangan produk dari limbah/sisa panen dan pengolahan jagung di Kelurahan Sedau cukup tinggi. Jumlah rata-rata produksi jagung yang mencapai 4,3 ton/Ha menyisakan sekitar 37% limbah yang tidak masyarakat manfaatkan sedangkan jika hasil panen hanya digunakan bijinya saja, maka limbah yang dihasilkan beratnya 1,5 kali dari berat biji yang dihasilkan. Limbah ini mengandung hemiselulosa dan lignin yang tinggi, sehingga berpotensi untuk dijadikan sebagai briket. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu penyuluhan, praktek pembuatan briket dan evaluasi hasil kegiatan pada khalayak sasaran di Koperasi Kelompok Tani JAS-B. Hasil briket yang dihasilkan lebih baik teksturnya dibandingkan briket dari bahan baku lainnya. Seluruh peserta merasa tertarik untuk mencoba membuat produk briket dari limbah jagung, sebanyak 86% peserta baru mengetahui informasi mengenai briket saat pelatihan oleh Tim PPM Polnep. Hasil analisis finansial dari pengolahan limbah jagung ini cukup potensial untuk meningkatkan perekonomian petani jagung di daerah Sedau.

Abstract

In recent years, the search for new anticancer drugs from local plants in Indonesia has become an interesting topic for research. One of the typical Indonesian local plants that have been used by the community as an anticancer traditional medicine (jamu) is Spatholobus littoralis Hassk (SLH) or better known as Bajakah. The native Dayak people of Kalimantan have used it for years for the treatment of breast cancer. In this study, the separation of single compounds from the ethyl acetate fraction of SLH stems was carried out, their molecular structure was analyzed, and anticancer bioactivity was tested. The isolation used the preparative HPLC method. The elucidation of the isolates from the ethyl acetat fraction used LCMS-MS, FTIR, and NMR. Anticancer bioactivity was determined using the MTT bioassay. The result is the acquisition of two isolates; it has been predicted that both are pseudobaptinin. The anticancer IC50 of the pseudobaptinin was 62.85 ppm, and Pseudobaptinin with impurities was 145.60 ppm.

Abstract

Uncaria gambir Roxb (URG) is one of the plants from West Kalimantan predicted to contain antioxidant and anti-breast cancer. This study aims to test the antioxidant and anti-breast cancer potential. UGR leaves were extracted by infusion method using water for 15 minutes with 4 repetitions at a temperature 70oC. A thick extract of 96.2351 grams (29.979%) was obtained from a sample weight of 321 grams of dried UGR leaves. In vitro antioxidant assay of the extract was investigated using 2,2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) with positive control using quercetin and ascorbic acid, and the Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) method. In silico screening showed that the biological agents in UGR had the potential as TP53 expression enhancer, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, chemopreventive, and free radical scavenger. The antioxidant bioassay results showed IC50 values of 81.21 μg/mL, 73.39 μg/mL, and 9.17 μg/mL in DPPH for extract samples with positive control quercetin, sample extracts with positive control Vitamin C and Vitamin C with positive control quercetin, respectively. Meanwhile, the antioxidant activity of extract samples with the FRAP method showed value of 66,05 μg/mL. Anticancer bioassay result showed that UGR leaves extract with water solvent had the stron potentgial to inhibit 4T1 cells with IC50  87.72 μg/mL.

Abstract

Ganoderma sp. is a pathogenic fungus that causes basal stem rot in oil palms, leading to significant yield losses. This study explores the antifungal potential of Uncaria gambir Roxb. extract against Ganoderma sp. using in silico and in vitro methods. In silico analysis from the KNApSAcK and PASS Online databases identified 18 secondary metabolites with probability activity (Pa) values ranging from 0.5 to 0.7, indicating high potential. Cinchonain Ia, an alkaloid with the highest Pa value of 0.638, has poor solubility. In vitro tests on U. gambir extract at various concentrations (0%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, and 3%) showed that the extract was ineffective in inhibiting the growth of Ganoderma sp. Further research with variations in solvents, extraction methods, and formulations is needed to optimize the antifungal activity of this extract.

Abstract

Dewasa ini dunia perfilman bukan hanya persoalan bagaimana menghibur penonton melainkan penyampaian pesan-pesan moral yang terdapat dalam kandungan film. Tidak hanya film-film yang dijumpai di bioskop dan televisi saja, kini film juga berkembang jenisnya seperti film pendek. Dari sekian banyaknya film-film yang bermunculan, film pendek “jendela” karya Randi Pratama merupakan salah satu film yang penuh akan muatan moral. Sang sutradara menggarap film Jendela berdasarkan pengalaman hidupnya, tentang bagaimana hubungan anak laki-laki dan seorang ayah yang mempunyai rasa canggung dalam berinteraksi satu sama lain. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ilmu Semiotika versi Rolland Barthes yang mencari tanda, makna serta dialog yang mempunyai catatan moral yang kemudian ditafsirkan dengan makna denotasi dan konotasi. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah library research. Upaya analisis pesan moral film “Jendela” menemukan sedikitnya empat pesan moral  yang terungkap dalam film berdurasi 30 menit yang ditampilkan melalui makna denotasi dan konotasi yaitu, pertama menghargai makanan selaku wujud rasa syukur atas rezeki yang diberikan oleh sang pencipta Allah S.W.T. Pesan moral kedua adalah bersabar ketika menghadapi ujian dan masalah. Ketiga. Pengorbanan besar sosok ayah dalam menuju jalan kesuksesan dan kebahagian anak. Dan yang keempat, adalah anak yang berbakti kepada orang tua. Konklusi dari penelitian ini bahwa film Jendela memberikan pesan moral yang disampaikan melalui adegan dan narasi yang tercipta. Peneliti menyadari bahwa dalam penelitian yang diteliti pasti terdapat kekurangan dan banyaknya kelemahan seperti masih banyaknya pesan-pesan moral yang belum terungkap dalam analisa film ini dan teori yang belum sempurna. Maka peneliti memberikan saran selanjutnya kepada peneliti kedepannya untuk terus menambah literasi demi mempertajam analisa pada objek yang diteliiti.
