Abstract

A research on Syntax learning model in university is needed because such research is barely available for reference yet. Existing research on learning models are commonly carried out in high and middle schools, not university. This research aims to expose Syntax learning model in universities in Central Java and Yogyakarta.As object of research, two departments of Indonesian Language and Literature in Yogyakarta, one department of Indonesian language and Literature in Central Java, and one department of Indonesian Language and Literature Education in Central Java are chosen to be analyzed. The model includes: existence of lecture plan (RPP/RMP), teaching material, lecturer methods/strategy, learning media, and evaluation method. Data of research is collected through interview and document analysis, which is done quantitatively us- ing interactive and comparative models. This research reaches five conclusions. First, all departments in the research have both RPP (lecture plan) and RMP (lecture quality plan), even though with slight differences in names and details. Second, the departments have similarities and differences in term of teaching material. As a similarity, teaching material based on lecturer research is not found. Third, the departments have similarities and differences in term of teaching methods. Interestingly, some departments use unique learning method that synergizes with ideology of the particular university. Fourth, learning media between the departments is varied. Not every department is familiar with multimedia technology though some lecturers smartly use games as learning media to cover the lack of multimedia technology. Fifth, the departments use different evaluation method with different components. Some departments uses UKD (base competence test) while some are using UAS (end semester test).

Abstract

This study has two objectives: (1) to identify interference of the English lexicon into Indonesian used on Youtube and (2) to identify the imple-mentation of the development of Youtube-based English lexicon interfer-ence teaching material into Indonesian. This research is a qualitative description which involve data in the form of video from Youtube. The collection techniques are using listening methods and collecting record-ings, taking notes, observation and focus group discussions which in-volve studens. The data analysis technique uses translational equivalent method and the aggregate method. The results of this study show that there are six forms of interference of the English lexicon into the Indone-sian language. (a) 39 nouns, (b) 6 verbs, (c) 3 pronouns, (d) 1 conjunc-tion, (e) 3 adverbs, and (f) 8 adjectives. This finding is useful in the im-plementation of sociolinguistic learning with lexicon interference mate-rial from English into Indonesian based on the standard set by the Minis-try of Education.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the shape of illocutionary speech acts Javanese cultural background of teachers in school, describing the strategies and techniques politeness Javanese cultural background of teachers in school, describing the use of illocutionary speech acts teachers’ Javanese cultural backgrund based on gender perspective. Attention method is used by writer to collect the data by providing several techniques, namely: involved refer-free conversation techniques, recording techniques, and notes technique. The analysis of data by using a padan method. Based on the analysis of data can be retrieved 3 conclusions. First, all categories of illocutionary speech acts by Searle are found in formal activities in this study. Meanwhile, in a non-formal activity found three categories. Second, in the formal and non-formal activities, the strategy used by teachers to speak are direct strategy and indirect strategy. The technique used are literal and non literal. In addition, there is a combination between speech strategies and speech techniques. Third, based on a gender perspective, there are three things that discused in this study. (a) in general, directive speech act is the dominant used in this research. The use of sub-utterances instructing, requesting, giving guidance, and advising in a formal activities are dominant by nGP than nGL. However, the sub-TTD to order the use of nGL is higher than nGP. In the non-formal activities, sub-utterances instructing is dominant used by nGL than nGP. (c) teacher’s Javanese cultural background prefer to choose literal technique in their speech. (d) the most dominant combination of strategies and techniques used is direct speech act strategie and literal speech act technique.

Abstract

This research deals with the use of conjunction in Indonesian language by the fifth graders of Baki Pandeyan 01 Elementary School of Sukoharjo. The objective of this study is three folds: (1) to describe conjunction used in spoken Indonesian Language; (2) to describe conjunction used in written Indonesian Language; (3) to describe errors in using conjunction both in written and spoken Indonesian. This research is categorized into descriptive qualitative research. The object of this research is the conjunction used in spoken and written of Indonesian language of the fifth grade.The data of the research was the conjunction used in Indonesian Language of the fifth grade students which were collected through writing and retelling the story. The technique of data collection was done by using tapping technique continued with scrutinize ability involvement technique, recording technique, and noticing technique. The technique of data analysis used intralingual match because it connects and compares the language itself. The result of the study showed that conjunction of spoken Indonesian language of subordinative reached 182, coordinative reached 64, and inter-sentences reached 3. The using of subordinative conjunction in written Indonesian language reached 104, and 49 for coordinative cinjunction. The conjunction often used by the fifth grade studens is dan. Conjuntion error often occurred in the use of words dan, tetapi, lalu, sedangkan which were used as the preposition, the wrong spelling of yg and /. This research also revealed that the characteristics of subordinative conjunction are as follows: (1) Connecting two points which equally important, (2) Connecting words or prhases which are equal, (3) It used in the compound sentence. Then, the characteristics of coordinative conjunction are (1) Connecting two or more sentences which the same syntactic status, (2) Forming the subordinative clause, (3) Used in the complex sentences. The characteristics of inter-clause conjunction are (1) Connecting one sentence to the others, (2) Combining two sentences.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the types of transformation replacements in the translation of the Quran which contain language ethics, and analyze their functions. The study involves descriptive qualitative method. The research object is the transformation replacements in the translation of the Quran which contain language ethics and their functions. In obtaining the data, field note and content analysis are applied. The data are analyzed by distributive and comparative techniques. The findings show that the types of transformation replacements in the translation of the Quran which contain language ethics include (1) the replacement of equal syntactic level, and (2) the replacement of smaller syntactic levels, from one to four levels. The transformation replacemnts in the translation of the Quran function to show language ethics including the replacement of linguistic units which clarify the participants (the first, second, and third speakers), and the replacement of linguistic units into shorter forms to make effective sentences.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan strategi kesantunan berbahasa yang digunakan netizen dalam berkomentar pada akun Instagram Jokowi. Data dalam studi ini berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang memiliki nilai kesantunan positif dan negatif komentar pada akun Instagram Jokowi. Sumber data dalam studi ini adalah komentar-komentar pada akun Instagram Jokowi. Pengumpulan data dalam studi ini menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan simak dilanjutkan teknik bebas libat cakap (SBLC). Analisis data dalam studi ini menggunakan padan intralingual dan padan pragmatis. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi kesantunan netizen dalam berkomentar pada akun Instagram Jokowi irealisasikan dengan dua strategi yaitu strategi kesantunan positif dan negatif. Strategi kesantunan positif direalisasikan menjadi sembilan wujud, yaitu memberikan perhatian, menunjukkan sikap optimis, menggunakan penanda indentitas, memberikan pertanyaan, melibatkan penutur dalam komunikasi, mengintensifkan perhatian penutur dengan cara mendramatisasi peristiwadan fakta, memperhatikan keinginan mitra tutur, memberikan janji, dan menggunakan lelucon. Strategi kesantunan negatif direalisasikan menjadi tiga bentuk, yaitu meminta maaf, menunjukkan sikap pesimis; dan menggunakan bentuk impersonal. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa netizen pada akun Instagram Jokowi memiliki kepercayaam terhadap kepemimpinan Jokowi.(This study aims to describe the language politeness strategy used by netizens in commenting Jokowi's Instagram account. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, and sentences that have the value of positive politeness and negative comments on Jokowi's Instagram account. The data sources in this study are comments on Jokowi’s Instagram account. Data collecting in this study using the documentation method,   skillful involvement free technique (SBLC). The data analysis in this study uses an intralingual and pragmatic equivalent. The results of this study show that the strategy of politeness of netizens in commenting on the Jokowi’s Instagram account is realized with two strategies, namely the strategy of positive and negative politeness. Positive politeness strategies are realized into nine forms which include  giving attention, showing optimism, using identity markers, giving question, involving speakers in communication, intensifying the attention of speakers by dramatizing events and facts, paying attention to the wishes of the speech partner, giving promises, and using jokes. Negative politeness strategies are realized into three forms which include apologizing, showing pessimism, using impersonal forms. This shows that netizens of Jokowi's Instagram account have confidence in Jokowi's leadership.)

Abstract

This research aims to identify (1) the formd of adverbial modality markers in Quran translation texts,and (2) the categories modified by the modality markers. The data of this research is all lingual units containing adverbial modality markerd in Quran translation texts that has language ethics. Data collection utilized reading and documentation techniques, whereas data analysis utilized identity and constituent analysis methods. The results of this research identify the forms of adverbial modality markers in Quran translation texts to be in base and derivative forms. The base forms mark the modality of certainty, sincerity, determina-tion, causality, and obligation. (1) Modality of certainty is marked by pasti, (2) Modality of sincerity is mar-ked by sungguh,). (3) Modality of determination is marked by tetap, (4) Modality of causality is marked with saling. (5) Modality of obligation is marked by harus,). The derivative forms include repetition, afixation, combination, and particleization. Repetition form marks modalities of (a) expectation, with marker mudah-mudahan and sekali-kali, (b) metaphorization, with markers seakan-akan. (2) Affixation form marks modali-ties of (a) sincerity, with marker sesungguhnya (b) imagination, with marker sekiranya,  berkehendak, and hendaknya which translate from (c) will, with marker berkehendak. (3) Word combination form marks modalities of (a) expectation, with marker insya Allah, insya Allah, hampir saja, and barangsiapa. (4) Particleization form is found on modalities janganlah, tentulah, tetaplah, hendaklah, and pastilah. Three cate-gories are found to be modified by the modality markers: (1) adjectives/ adjective phrase, (2) noun/noun phrase (frequencyand (3) verb/verb phrase. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk adverbia penanda modalitas (APM) pada teks terjemahan Alquran (TTA), dan (2) mendeskripsikan kategori yang dimodifikatori adverbia penanda modalitas pada (TTA).   Data dalam penelitian ini adalah semua satuan lingual yang mengandung  adverbia penada modalitas pada TTA yang mengandung etika berbahasa. Teknik pengumpulan data  adalah teknik simak dan teknik catat. Analisis data menggunakan metode agih dan metode padan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk adverbia penanda modalitas (APM) pada TTA terdiri atas bentuk dasar dan bentuk turunan.    APM yang berupa bentuk dasar menandai modalitas kepastian, kesungguhan, ketetapan, keslingan, dan keharusan. (1) APM  kepastian dengan penanda pasti sepadan dengan BA لَ   (lam penguat), memang.  (2) APM kesungguhan dengan penanda sungguh, BA نإ (inna), قَدْ (qad) ((3:118),  dan (2) وَقَدْ خَلَتْ (waqad kholat) (46:17).   (3) APM ketetapan penanda tetap, BA أَصَرَّ- يصرُّ, (asoru-yasoru), (4) APM kesalingan, penanda saling, BA تَفَاعَلَ (taqaala).   (5) APM keharusan, penanda harus  لىيجب (yajabaal).   Bentuk turunan meliputi, bentuk ulang, berimbuhan,   gabungan, serta berpartikel.    (1) Bentuk ulang yang menandai modalitas (a) pengharapan dengan penanda mudah-mudahan dan sekali-kali, yakni لعل   (laala)-عسى (asyaya), dan لَنْ (lan)   (laala) dan عسى (asyaya), (b) peringatan (lan) لَنْ, dan (c) pengibaratan dengan penanda seakan-akan, adalah  كَأَن (ka’ana).    (2) Berimbuhan yang menandai modalitas (a) kesungguhan dengan penanda sesungguhnya (BA بَلْ (bal), (b) pengandaian penanda sekiranya لَو (lawa), APM  berkehendak, dan hendaknya berpadanan dengan BA يُرِيدُونَ (yuriduuna) (c) keinginan berkehendak, عُونَ (una).     (3) APM berbentuk  gabungan kata yang menandai modalitas (a) pengharapan insya Allah, insya Allah, hampir saja, dan barangsiapa.   (4) APM   berpartikel yang menandai modalitas janganlah, tentulah, tetaplah, hendaklah, dan pastilah.    (b) Kategori yang dimodifikatori adverbia penanda modalitas ada  lima  macam. (1) Adverbia penanda modalitas memodifikatori adjektiva/frasa adjektiva   (2) Adverbia penanda modalitas memodifikatori nomina/frasa nomina  (11 kali ). (3) Adverbia penanda modalitas memodifikatori verba/frasa verba (79 kata). (4)  APM memodifikatori Frase Preposisi, dan (5)  APM memodifikatori kata penunjuk

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of assertiveness, speech continuity strategies, and social distancing scales in the discourse of the 2019’s presidential candidacy on social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook). This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study are in the form of words, phrases, and sentences that contain assertiveness. The data sources in this study are Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Data collection used in this study is a note-taking method. The data analysis carried out in this study were the intralingual matching method, the PUP primary technique matching method, and the HBS advanced technique. The results of this study found that 1) the form of assertiveness in the discourse of the 2019’s presidential candidacy on social media, namely (a) the force to express a desire,(b) the force to brag about hatred, (c) the force to enhance politeness, (d) the force to report field facts, (e) the force to urge Pn's goals, (f) the force to raise complaints, and (g) the force to announce the agenda.2) continuity strategies in the form of (a) direct speech strategies and (b) indirect speech strategies. 3) the social distance scale contained in this study is (a) long-hedged speech and (b) short-hedged speech.

Abstract

Konsep teoretis istilah interferensi selama ini sering dipandang sebagai hal yang negatif. Interferensi merupakan salah satu kajian bidang sosiolinguistik yang terus berkembang sesuai dengan fenomena kebahasaan dan komunikasi yang terjadi dalam masyarakat pengguna bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkajidalami teori interferensi yang selama ini dipandang sebagai hal yang negatif apakah masih relevan dengan perkembangan atau tidak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah grounded teori. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi terhadap teori dan realisasi tindak tutur yang mengandung interferensi bahasa Jawa ke dalam bahasa Indonesia, diketahui bahwa tidak semua bentuk interferensi bahasa Jawa ke bahasa Indonesia dapat dinyatakan sebagai transfer negatif. Interferensi bahasa Jawa ke bahasa Indonesia dapat diidentifikasi sebagai strategi realisasi kesantunan berbahasa.
