Abstract

This study is mainly intended to find out the extent to which tasks in English work books are designed to develop the students’ communicative competence. The objective of this study is to describe how the tasks in Edukatif work books are designed to develop students’ discourse competence, linguistic competence, actional competence, sociolinguistic competence, and strategic competence. This study is a qualitative research which involves content analysis approach. The data are the tasks in Edukatif work books used by eight grade students of the first and second semester. In collecting the data, the writer uses documentation method. The data analysis used Huberman and Miles’ concept which involves data reduction, data display and verification. The findings show that among the five competences and its components of communicative com- petence, some components are not well developed in the work books. The tasks develop all components of discourse competence except one aspect in linguistic competence, that is, phonology. The tasks develop all components of actional competence except the speech act. The tasks develop components of sociolinguistic competence except the cultural and non-verbal communicative factor. The tasks develop only one component of strategic competence, that is, time gaining strategy. The conclusion is that the tasks in Edukatif work books are sufficient to develop the students’ discourse, linguistic, and actional competence. The tasks, however, are not sufficient to develop students’ sociolinguistic and strategic competence.

Abstract

Kondisi lingkungan setiap tahunnya semakin memprihatinkan. Manusia semakin tidak peduli dengan lingkungan, sehingga kerusakan lingkungan terjadi dimana-mana. Banyaknya kerusakan lingkungan akibat dari ulah manusia diantaranya pembalakan hutan secara liar dan pembuangan sampah. Kepedulian terhadap lingkungan harus ditanamkan sejak dini agar kesadaran akan menjaga lingkungan sekitar tertanam sehingga kerusakan lingkungan dapat terkurangi. Tujuan pelaksanan pengabdian ini adalah menumbuhkan kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan melalui kegiatan penghijauan di MIM Pakang, Andong. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini yaitu dengan pendidikan masyarakat melalui kegiatan penyuluhan warga sekolah terutama kepada siswa. Upaya dalam menumbuhkan kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan di MIM Pakang, Andong yaitu melalui kegiatan penghijauan. Kegiatan penghijauan yang dilakukan yaitu berupa menanam pohon cemara dan pembuatan taman dengan menggunakan barang bekas sebagai pot. Kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan baik ditunjukkan dengan siswa mengikuti semua kegiatan yang diarahkan oleh mahasiswa KKN-DIK dengan antusias yang tinggi.

Abstract

Adiwiyata merupakan program pemerintahan dalam rangka menyukseskan pendidikan pembangunan berkelanjutan, bertujuan untuk mewujudkan warga sekolah yang bertanggung jawab serta cinta lingkungan dalam upaya perlindungan dan pengelolaan lingkungan hidup melalui tata kelola sekolah dengan kedisiplinan yang baik. Hal ini sebagaimana yang dilakukan oleh SMP Negeri 2 Gatak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengobservasi kedisiplinan dalam mencintai lingkungan bagi peserta didik di SMP Negeri 2 Gatak dalam mengimplementasikan program Adiwiyata. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diambil bersumber dari data primer serta data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dikumpulkan pada saat dan setelah pengumpulan data yang meliputi reduksi dan penyajian data. Hasil menunjukan bahwa kedisiplinan dalam mencintai lingkungan oleh peserta didik di SMP Negeri 2 Gatak sudah menuju sekolah Adiwiyata dengan bentuk melakukan kegiatan rutin, kegiatan spontan, keteladanan, dan pengkondisian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu menganalisis perbandingan makna pada puisi Peringatan karya Wiji Thukul dan puisi Caged Bird karya Maya Angelou dengan pendekatan mimetik sastra. Yang mana dalam puisi yang berjudul Peringatan ini berisikan penindasan terhadap rakyat kecil oleh pemerintah dan rakyat kecil ini tidak bisa mengaspirasikan pikirannya karena dianggap rendah dan hak asasi manusianya di rampas. Dengan adanya permasalahan tersebut, Wiji Thukul yang berani mengeluarkan aspirasi masyarakat kecil ke dalam sebuah karya sastranya yaitu puisi. Sedangkan puisi Caged Bird karya Maya Angelou ini berisikan tentang rasisme terhadap orang berkulit hitam oleh oleh berkulit putih, orang berkulit putih menganggap orang yang berkulit hitam tidak sepadan dengan orang yang berkulit putih dan dikucilkan. Dengan begitu, si Maya Angelou juga termasuk orang berkulit hitam dan tidak terima jika di rendahkan begitu saja dan tidak memiliki hak yang sama dengan orang berkulit putih. Dengan adanya permasalahan tersebut, Maya juga membuat puisi yang berisikan penyindiran terhadap ketidakadilan yang dirasakan oleh orang berkulit hitam. Yang intinya kedua puisi tersebut sama-sama meminta keadilan dalam kehidupannya, dan kedua judul puisi tersebut juga akan dikaji dengan pendekatan mimetik sastra yang menitik beratkan kajiannya terhadap hubungan karya sastra dengan kenyataan di luar sastra.Kata Kunci: puisi, wiji thukul, maya angelou, pendekatan mimetik  The purpose of this study is to analyze the comparison of meanings in the memorial poem by Wiji Thukul and the Caged Bird poem by Maya Angelou with a literary mimetic approach. Which in the poem entitled warning contains the oppression of the small people by the government and these small people cannot aspire to their thoughts because they are considered low and their human rights are taken away. With these problems, Wiji Thukul who dared to express the aspirations of the small community into a literary work, namely poetry. While Maya Angelou's Caged Bird poem is about racism against black people by white people, white people think that black people are not commensurate with white people and are ostracized. That way, Maya Angelou is also a black person and doesn't accept being humiliated and doesn't have the same rights as white people. With these problems, Maya also wrote a poem that contained satire on the injustice felt by black people. The point is that the two poems both ask for justice in their lives, and the two titles of the poems will also be studied with a literary mimetic approach that focuses on the study of the relationship between literary works and realities outside of literature.Keywords: poetry, wiji thukul, maya angelou, mimetic approach

Abstract

Every person's life is riddled with difficulties. There is a movie that portrays how struggle life is, entitled The Pursuit of Happyness. The writer uses a psychological technique to assess Chris Gardner's struggle for a better life in this research. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The result shows that the movie focuses on Chris, who had a hard time making ends meet. This movie conveys the message of self-reliance, optimism, and self-confidence.

Abstract

The paper focuses on analyzing a mother who guides an adoption child reflected in The Blind Side movie. The researcher applies descriptive qualitative method in analysing the problem to find the data. The research questions are 1. What problems are faced by Leigh Anne's, as a mother? 2. What are the factors cause those problems? 3. How does Leigh Anne's solve the problems? The first data consisting of texts of the movie which is related to a mother guide adoption children and the second data that support the analysis. The technique of the data analysis is carried out by applying the close of mother and children using attachment theory by John Bowlby. The result shows that Leigh Anne Tuohy creates efforts in her supporting strategy such as adopted Oher to be her family, Mrs. Tuohy’s guide Oher to be an American football player. Part of that emotional funding for Leigh Anne is that finaly Oher can find his potential as a human being and find his identity to be a happy person like everyone else.The result is the power of love a marvelous mother can make Oher to be a successful American football player.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the classification of emotions contained in the web series drama "Layangan Putus". The method used in this research is descriptive method, with the object that will be studied in this research is a web series drama "Layangan Putus" with director Benni Setiawan and screenwriter Oka Aurora. The data collection technique in this study was the note-taking technique. The results of the analysis of this web series drama, found seven classifications of emotions contained in the character Kinan. The emotional expressions that arise include: the emotion of happiness, the emotion of sadness, the emotion of fear, the emotion of hatred, the emotion of anger, the emotion of surprise, and the emotion of love. Expression of emotions usually arises spontaneously in each self and is spontaneous. Literary psychology is supported by three approaches including textual approach, acceptance-pragmatism approach, and expression approach. Keywords: emotion, expression, literary psychology
