Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kontrasepsi hormonal pil, suntik dan implan merupakan jenis kontrasepsi yang banyak diminati oleh pasangan usia subur di Indonesia. Ketiga jenis kontrasepsi ini mengandung hormon seks sintetis berupa esterogen dan progesteron yang dapat meningkatkan cairan sulkus gingiva dan memicu pelepasan sitokin TNF-α sehingga mengakibatkan gingivitis. Tujuan Penelitian: untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar Tumor nekrosis alpha (TNF-α) cairan sulkus gingiva pada penderita gingivitis pengguna kontrasepsi pil, suntik dan implan. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian observasional analytic dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Subyek penelitian sebanyak 60 wanita dengan usia 25-28 tahun yang terbagi dalam 20 kelompok pil, 20 suntik dan 20 implan di kecamatan Kebonarum Klaten. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pengukuran gingival indeks kemudian pengambilan cairan sulkus gingiva menggunakan absorbent paper point lalu dilakukan penghitungan kadar TNF-α menggunakan metode ELISA. Hasil Penelitian: Hasil peneltian dengan uji statistic didapatkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (p0,05). Meskipun demikian, rerata kadar TNF-α cairan sulkus gingiva penderita gingivitis sedang pengguna kontrasepsi implan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kontrasepsi pil dan suntik. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kadar TNF-α cairan sulkus gingiva penderita gingivitis pengguna kontrasepsi pil, suntik dan implan.

Abstract

Akumulasi plak gigi merupakan etiologi utama karies gigi dan penyakit periodontal, diperlukan usaha untuk mencegah akumulasi plak pada permukaan gigi dan gingiva. Kontrol plak dilakukan dengan mengunyah makanan yang padat dan berserat. Efek mekanis dari gerakan mengunyah dapat membersihkan plak pada permukaan gigi. Buah apel (Malus sylvestris Mill.) mempunyai efek kimiawi karena mengandung zat aktif anti bakteri yaitu tannin. Mengunyah buah Apel Manalagi (Malus sylvestris Mill.) dapat menstimulasi aliran saliva sebagai efek fisiologis self cleansing. Siswa sekolah dasar usia 9-12 tahun merupakan periode yang tepat untuk menanamkan sikap positif terhadap kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mengunyah buah Apel Manalagi (Malus sylvestris Mill.) terhadap penurunan indeks plak kajian dilakukan pada siswa usia 9-12 tahun di SD Muhammadiyah 11 Mangkuyudan Surakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimental semu. Teknik sampling yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Pengukuran plak gigi menggunakan indeks PHP-M untuk periode gigi bercampur. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu sebanyak 30 subjek. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan dengan signifikansi p0.05. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh mengunyah buah Apel Manalagi (Malus sylvestriss Mill.) terhadap penurunan indeks plak.Kata kunci: Buah Apel Manalagi, indeks plak, mengunyah

Abstract

Kesehatan mulut merupakan komponen penting dari kesehatan dan kesejahteraan umum. Karies gigi merupakan penyakit yang paling umum pada anak-anak. Karies gigi dapat dianggap sebagai penyakit bio-sosial, yang komplikasinya, tidak hanya mempengaruhi kesehatan individu dan masyarakat, tetapi juga memiliki dampak sosial dan ekonomi yang negatif. Perkembangan karies gigi yang tidak diobati menyebabkan morbiditas yang nyata, dengan nyeri yang berdenyut, pembentukan abses, ketidakmampuan untuk makan, gangguan tidur, malaise dan penurunan kualitas hidup untuk anak-anak yang umum. Upaya pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut sebaiknya dilakukan sedini mungkin sehingga karies gigi dapat dicegah agar tidak sampai terjadi pada anak-anak. Sekolah merupakan salah satu lingkungan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai tempat untuk menyelenggarakan promosi kesehatan gigi. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan penyuluhan menggunakan modul promosi edukasi lengkap sekolah “PELLA”. Modul ini terdiri dari buku cerita, poster dan kalender aktivitas sikat gigi. Indikator yang digunakan disini adalah angka pengetahuan. Hasil memperlihatkan bahwa kelompok mitra mendapatkan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut dari kegiatan yang dilakukan. Hasil ini memperlihatkan adanya perbedaan pengetahuan antara 2 mitra dan modul masih dinilai dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mitra.

Abstract

Abstrak: Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada ibu hamil terjadi karena tidak adanya usaha preventif yang dilakukan sebelumnya, serta keterbatasn pelayanan kesehatan. Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang tidak teratasi dapat berkaibat buruk pada ibu dan janin. Promosi perawatan kesehatan dini selama kehamilan telah terbukti meningkatkan kesehatan mulut secara keseluruhan pada anak-anak. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu hamil mengenai tindakan pencegahan masalah gigi dan mulut dengan program edukasi melalui modul dan video edukasi. Metode pengabdian dilakukan dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada satu bidan desa dan 36 kader Posyandu Desa Gedongan, Kecamatan Baki, Kabupaten Sukoharjo . Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui lima tahap yaitu need asessment, pembuatan modul, pelatihan bidan dan kader, pendampingan dan tahap evaluasi program. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan pada kader setelah diberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan, serta peningkatan pengetahuan pada ibu hamil setelah mendapat penyuluhan kesehatan.Abstract : Dental and oral health problems in pregnant women occur because of the absence of previous preventive efforts, as well as limited health services. Dental and oral health problems that are not resolved can have bad consequences for the mother and fetus. Promotion of early health care during pregnancy has been shown to improve overall oral health in children. The purpose of this service is to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about preventive measures for dental and oral problems with educational programs through educational modules and videos. The service method is carried out by training and mentoring one village midwife and 36 cadres in Gedongan Village, Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency. This service is carried out through five stages; need assessment, module making, training for midwives and cadres, mentoring and program evaluation stages. Results showed that there was an increase in knowledge of cadres after being given training and assistance, as well as an increase in knowledge of pregnant women after receiving health counseling.

Abstract

Periodontitis is an inflammation of the supporting tissues of the teeth caused by specific microorganisms or specific groups of microorganism which results in progressive destruction of the periodontal connective tissue and alveolar bone by forming pockets, recession or both. When there is inflammatory periodontitis, the lymphocyte cells increase. Lymphocytes are specific chronic inflammatory cells that become an immune response to the presence of an injury during inflammation. One of the treatments that support wound healing in periodontitis is Ozonated Olive Oil. Ozonated Olive Oil has a disinfectant ability that can suppress the growth of bacteria such as those contained in periodontitis. This study aims to determine the effect of topical application of Ozonated Olive Oil on the number of lymphocyte cells in male Wistar rats with periodontitis. The number of male wistar rats used was 24. Observation of lymphocyte cells was carried out using a light microscope with a magnification of 200x and counted manually by the observer.The results showed that the mean number of lymphocytes in the experimental group was 24±3.26599 and the negative control group was 48±5.65685. The result of the One-Way ANOVA data analysis is 0.000 (0<0.05). The conclusion of this study was that the use of 0.1 ml of Ozonated Olive Oil had an effect on the number of lymphocyte cells in male Wistar rats who had periodontitis.

Abstract

Glass ionomer cement is a restorative material that is adhesive, tooth-colored, and has the ability to release fluoride ions which are affected by the degree of acidity (pH). Apart from that, one way to utilize the waste from green mussels is by processing them into chitin and chitosan as materials to strengthen the properties of glass ionomer cement. Glass ionomer cement contains materials such as powderacid soluable calcium fluoraluminosilicate glass and liquidaqueous solution of polyacrylic acid. This can be an alternative as a treatment for dental caries. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the addition of green mussel shell (perna viridis) nanochitosan on the compressive strength of glass ionomer cement. Method: This study used a quantitative experimental laboratory study with a True Experimental study design using a post test only control group design. the total sample used was 25 samples. Results: The 2% nanochitosan concentration has the highest compressive strength value compared to other concentrations, as evidenced by the mean value at 2% concentration, which is 4.10 MPa. Conclusion: The result of 2% green mussel (perna viridis) nanochitosan was the most effective treatment in influencing the compressive strength of glass ionomer cement. The greater the concentration used, the higher the compressive strength of the resulting glass ionomer cement.

Abstract

Background: Drug trafficking in the world affects the country and spread to all levels of Indonesian society. Methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin are the most commonly abused drugs. Drugs cause a lot of bad effects, including the oral cavity. Results of Health Research on the Impact of Drug Abuse in 2019, as many as 64.1% of them experienced dental problems and 60.1% of oral cavity disorders. The risk of periodontal disease in drug users is higher than non-users. Objective: To determine the effect of the use of methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin and the most influential drug users on the health of periodontal tissues. Methods: Using secondary data obtained through several e-databases, that are Pubmed Central (PMC), SpringerLink, and ResearchGate based on keywords and a predetermined time span. Discussion: Periodontal disease in drug users is related to xerostomia, oral hygiene, and immunosuppression. The high accumulation of calculus and plaque in drug users due to their low awareness of maintaining oral health and impaired motor function that makes it difficult for a person to clean his oral cavity. Comparison of Bleeding on Probing (BOP) and Clinical Attachment Loss (CAL) values were used as the main variables to show the parameters of periodontal tissue inflammation in each type of drug (methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin). Conclusion: There was an effect of methamphetamine, marijuana, and heroin on the health of periodontal tissues including gingivitis and periodontitis. The heroin used by intravenous injection had the most effect on periodontal tissue health compared to methamphetamine and marijuana.

Abstract

This research was conducted on the premise that the age of using lathes in the Mechanical Technology Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Pontianak State Polytechnic has been more than 30 years since this Polytechnic was established. It is predicted that the resulting workpiece is not exactly sized by the tolerance limit given to students. This research was conducted by measuring geometry (geometric metrology) on lathes used by the Department of Mechanical Engineering students during machining practice. This study aims primarily to see whether there has been a significant deviation / beyond the allowable tolerance limit on the lathe used by students of the Pontianak State Polytechnic Mechanical Department, this research will later be able to take benefits that have to do with improving the skills of students of the Pontianak State Polytechnic Mechanical Engineering Department. Data obtained based on direct experiments on the object under study, the data obtained are processed with several analytical techniques by the variables studied, namely roundness analysis. The results showed that the tolerance of sphericity deviations in lathes MB 2 = 64 μm, can produce workpieces with tolerance values above 64 μm (IT 10). On lathes MB 2 = 84 μm, it can produce workpieces with tolerance values above 84μm (IT 10). Lathe MB 3 = 50 μm, can produce workpieces with tolerance values above 50 μm (IT 9). While the MB 4 lathe tolerance of the deviation of the roundness is 92 μm, it can produce workpieces with tolerance values above 92 μm (IT 11). While the lathe MB 5 tolerance of the deviation of roundness is 80 μm (IT 10), it can produce workpieces with tolerance values above 80 μm. Because these machines are still used for education, especially the implementation of practicum in machining process courses and production activities, improvements should be made to improve their performance.

Abstract

The learning method acts as an educational facility that functions to convey learning material to achieve learning goals. It takes creativity from lecturers and those responsible for the teaching and learning process, especially practicum. The results of the study entitled Design Models of Equipment Vapor Compression Refrigeration Cycle To Support Practicum Heat Engine And Fluid Engineering Subject produce a model of a practicum tool that can be used to carry out some practicum contents for refrigeration engines. This model of Vapor Compression Refrigeration Cycle can do several practicums in a refrigeration machine, namely looking for COP from a refrigeration machine, installing a refrigeration machine, incubating a refrigeration machine, pumping down a refrigeration machine and filling in a refrigerating machine. Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the difference of plaque acidity between chewing sucrose dark chocolate and xylitol dark chocolate in children aged 10-12 years. Methodology: Quantitative research using by a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. Twenty-one children had their plaque acidity measured before and after chewing sucrose dark chocolate and xylitol dark chocolate. Measurement of the plaque acidity before chewing sucrose and xylitol dark chocolate was carried out by taking plaque samples using an excavator on the buccal, palatal, or lingual, and proximal surfaces of the first permanent molars, then dissolving them in a test beaker containing 2.5 ml of deionized water. Measurement of the degree of plaque pH is carried out using a pH meter which is measured three times and the final result is obtained from the average. The same procedure was carried out to measure the degree of plaque acidity after 20 minutes of chewing sucrose and xylitol dark chocolate. The measurement results were analyzed using the independent t-test. Results: Data analysis was carried out using an independent t-test and tabulated using SPSS 22. There was a significant difference in plaque acidity between subjects who chewed sucrose dark chocolate (x̄ = 6.2794 ± 0.11425) and xylitol dark chocolate (x̄ = 6.4079 ± 0.10269). Applications/Originality/Value: The difference between this study and previous research is this study measured differences in the degree of plaque acidity in subjects who chewed sucrose dark chocolate and xylitol dark chocolate the measurement time was used as a variable.
