Abstract

Title: Transformation of a Silversmith's House in the Selaka Group, Jagalan Village, Kotagede as a Tourism Support Based on the Governor's Decree Number 131/KEP/2023, Kotagede was designated as a Cultural Heritage Area because there are many sites, buildings, and cultural heritage structures due to their high historical and cultural value. This is reflected in the social life of the community, urban space, and architecture. Kotagede has experienced many physical changes in buildings causing the original characteristics to fade. Therefore, efforts are needed to preserve buildings so that they are not eroded by time, tourism development, and the demands of individual needs. The study aims to identify the forms and reasons for the transformation that occurred in Kotagede and to review the suitability with the principles of preserving traditional Javanese houses. The study used a qualitative method with a case study research approach. The study focused on the traditional house of the Selaka Kotagede group, a community that works together with the Arkom Indonesia Foundation and the AirAsia Foundation. The forms of change in Selaka silver craftsmen include the spatial structure system (organization, hierarchy, circulation, territory) and the physical system (building materials). Changes include the position of core, peripheral, and additional elements. The study found that the traditional house of Selaka Kotagede silver craftsmen experienced changes in the periphery and the addition of elements, but the core elements were maintained to maintain cultural identity. Thus, the preservation of cultural heritage buildings in Kotagede can be implemented by maintaining the core elements of traditional house buildings.

Abstract

Kinerja pariwisata Indonesia dalam beberapa tahun telah mengalami pertumbuhan yang positif meski sempat mengalami penurunan di tahun 2020 akibat adanya pandemi COVID-19. Peningkatan jumlah kunjungan dan jumlah rata-rata pengeluaran wisatawan nusantara maupun mancanegara serta kontribusi pariwisata terhadap PDB merupakan salah satu indikasi perkembangan sektor pariwisata. Pada tahun 2022, provinsi Jawa Timur menjadi salah satu provinsi yang paling banyak dikunjungi wisatawan nusantara maupun mancanegara dan kontributor PDRB terbesar kedua terhadap PDB nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak pariwisata terhadap perekonomian di Jawa Timur dengan memperhitungkan pengeluaran wisatawan nusantara maupun mancanegara tahun 2022 terhadap output, pendapatan masyarakat, nilai tambah bruto dan tenaga kerja di provinsi Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan model analisis input output. Data yang digunakan merupakan data yang bersumber dari publikasi Badan Pusat Statistik meliputi tabel input output Jawa Timur 2016, statistik wisatawan nusantara dan mancanegara tahun 2022. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa baik pengeluaran wisatawan nusantara maupun mancanegara memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap perekonomian Jawa Timur. Analisis keterkaitan sektor pariwisata di Provinsi Jawa Timur menunjukkan peran penting sektor transportasi, pergudangan, dan jasa perusahaan dalam mempengaruhi pertumbuhan sektor lainnya. Angka pengganda output dan tenaga kerja menunjukkan kontribusi signifikan dari semua sektor pariwisata terhadap total output ekonomi, dengan sektor jasa lainnya memberikan dampak tidak langsung yang utama. Sementara itu dampak langsung sektor pariwisata telah menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan yang signifikan dan meningkatkan pendapatan rumah tangga.

Abstract

Fly ash yang merupakan residu pembakaran batu bara memiliki potensi untuk digunakan sebagai supplementary cementitious material (SCM), yaitu material yang fungsinya mengganti sebagian semen. Jika divaluasi, harga fly ash berkisar antara Rp 130.000 sampai Rp 140.000 per ton. Namun, fly ash perlu dikarakterisasi terlebih dahulu untuk memastikan potensi tersebut. Permasalahan yang melatarbelakangi pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah banyaknya fly ash yang dihasilkan oleh mitra dan belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik. Selain itu, untuk karakterisasi fly ash diperlukan pengujian di laboraturium tertentu. Sehingga, pada kegiatan ini dilakukan penyuluhan metode mudah dan praktis karakterisasi fly ash sebagai bahan substitusi semen. Berdasarkan identifikasi permasalahan mitra, didapatkan informasi bahwa limbah fly ash yang dihasilkan sebanyak 6-ton per hari dan langsung diangkut oleh pengolah sampah. Melihat potensi tersebut, kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan menguji sampel fly ash dari mitra. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa karakterisktik water requirement dari sampel melebihi batas maksimum dari persyaratan dari ASTM C618-19, sehingga masih perlu peningkatan kualitas dari fly ash jika akan digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan beton. Hal ini dikarenakan semakin tinggi water requirement nya, maka kekuatan beton akan semakin rendah. Hasil ini kemudian dijadikan sebagai bahan paparan dalam kegiatan penyuluhan bebentuk grup diskusi dengan mitra. Selain hasil pengujiaan sampel, rekomendasi terkait perbaikan karakteristik fly ash juga dipaparkan ketika penyuluhan. Rekomendasi yang diberikan berupa beberapa alternatif teknik untuk optimalisasi pembakaran batu bara dan mendapat respon positif dengan tindak lanjut berupa koordinasi internal dalam rangka perencanaan strategi pemanfaatan fly ash

Abstract

This study aims to discover the extent of spatial transformation in residential areas on Jalan Jaksa, known as the ex-backpacker enclaves due to the concept of supply and demand. Spatial function, building facades, and corridors in residentials are the assessed variables. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection is done by field observations, interviews, and literature review. The sampling method is using a non-random type or probability sample. The results of the analysis showed that from 26 samples there were 12 building/ residential samples (46.1%) that underwent installation, meaning that the building characteristics were adaptive, five buildings/ residential samples (19.2%) had insertion, meaning that the building was considered to be quite adaptive, and nine buildings/ residential samples (34 %) experiencing intervention, which means the building is not adaptive. In addition, the most changing category is the transformation in housing into multi-story buildings, lodging, and mixed-use buildings.

Abstract

The increasing demand for efficient construction materials has driven the popularity of lightweight bricks in the last decade. On the other hand, ship repair activities generate sandblasting waste, amounting to 2.5–3 million tons per year, which contains heavy metals and corrosive residues, and is therefore categorized as B3 waste. This study aims to transform sandblasting waste into environmentally friendly partition walls that support earthquake and fire disaster mitigation by formulating lightweight bricks of the Cellular Lightweight Concrete (CLC) type through the modification of foam agents and the substitution of fine aggregates. Initial studies, conducted through interviews at one of the shipyards, revealed an average monthly generation of sandblasting waste of 12,100 kg. This study combines laboratory experiments and a literature review to examine material properties, including gradation, specific gravity, water absorption, and metal content (XRF–TCLP), as well as to evaluate compressive strength, density, and potential applications in earthquake disaster mitigation. The characterization results indicate that the sandblasting waste meets the gradation requirements specified in SNI 03-2834-2000 and passes physical tests according to SNI 03-1970-2008, with heavy metal content (Ba, Zn, Cu) below the threshold set in PP No. 22 of 2021. Lightweight bricks are made with a composition ratio of 1:1 cement and sandblasting waste, and variations in the foam agent range from 5% to 12.5%. The best formula, according to SNI 8640-2018, is obtained at a foam agent content of 5%, resulting in a compressive strength of 7.28 MPa and a density of 1,283.33 kg/m³, which is lighter than concrete blocks and red bricks. From an earthquake mitigation perspective, it was found that lighter material weight contributed to reducing inertial forces and loads on the structure, thereby enhancing resistance to initial collapse and facilitating ease of dismantling during post-earthquake evacuation. These findings indicate that sandblasting waste has the potential to be processed into environmentally friendly alternative construction materials that not only meet technical standards but also contribute to earthquake risk mitigation strategies.

Abstract

Homestay menjadi pilihan akomodasi yang populer di desa wisata terutama di desa Cibeusi dan Nagrak, yang menyediakan fasilitas yang nyaman dan lengkap, dikelola langsung oleh penduduk lokal dan memungkinkan pengunjung untuk berinteraksi langsung dengan penduduk lokal. Homestay akan mengalami transformasi dari segi kualitas spasial juga visual untuk bersaing dalam pasar wisata. Transformasi ini dapat berupa transformasi dimensi, penambahan, pengurangan, penggabungan, dan organisasi, di mana terlihat melalui skalanya, unsur bangunan, faktor eksternal, juga bentuk bangunan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengidentifikasi transformasi spasial homestay di desa wisata, dengan lingkup lokasi di desa Cibeusi dan Nagrak, dan faktor pendorong yang mempengaruhi transformasi tersebut. Penelitian ini mengadopsi metode kualitatif deskriptif, di mana data diambil melalui observasi peneliti, dokumentasi berupa foto, dan wawancara mendalam dengan pengelola dari tiga homestay yang dipilih berdasarkan metode purposive sampling.  Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan yaitu transformasi dari setiap bangunan yang terjadi dalam beberapa tahap, yaitu dari gambar bangunan, orientasi bangunan, area terbuka, material, dan penambahan ruang. Selain itu, faktor pendorong terjadinya transformasi tersebut adalah meningkatkan kualitas homestay dengan cara meningkatkan kenyamanan sehingga menarik minat wisatawan atau pengunjung. Hal itu merupakan inisiatif pemilik homestay dan permintaan yang datang secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dari pengunjung Desa Cibeusi dan Nagrak.

Abstract

The wood processing industry is a significant source of airborne dust emissions and wastewater, both of which can pose serious environmental and health hazards if not properly managed. This study aims to evaluate the performance of a mobile dust collection system utilizing wet scrubber technology at two primary operational points—cutting and sanding—while also assessing the effectiveness of treating dust-laden wastewater using electrocoagulation. The system was designed with a 55-liter tank and equipped with eight electrode plates (four aluminum and four iron) measuring 20 × 25 cm, providing a total effective area of 0.8 m². Experimental results demonstrated that the initial Total Suspended Solids (TSS) concentration of 440 mg/L was reduced to 250.55 mg/L after electrocoagulation, and further to 189.45 mg/L after filtration. Additionally, the addition of 200 mg/L of Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC) reduced TSS from 320 mg/L to 40 mg/L, achieving an 87.5% removal efficiency. Field tests showed that the system successfully reduced airborne particle concentrations by 69.6% in the cutting area and 26.24% in the sanding area. These findings indicate that the proposed mobile wet scrubber system is effective in reducing both airborne dust and TSS levels in wastewater, making it a viable solution for dust control in wood processing industries.
