Abstract

This research aims to analyze the obstacles that are factors in the lack of profit sharing financing at BMT UGT Nusantara. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods to examine the process of determining financing schemes, implementing profit sharing financing and identifying the causes of the lack of profit sharing financing at BMT UGT Nusantara. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with informants such as financial managers, business managers, branch heads, account officers and members of BMT UGT Nusantara. Apart from that, field observations and analysis of financing documents were also carried out to obtain a comprehensive picture.  Data analysis was carried out using three analytical steps suggested by Miles and Huberman (2007), namely data reduction, data exposure and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of this research indicate that determining the financing scheme is the internal authority of BMT UGT Nusantara with the knowledge and approval of members. Financing with a profit sharing scheme is only used for companies that are already established, while small businesses use non-profit sharing financing. The lack of financing with a profit sharing scheme is due to several obstacles such as high risk, quality of human resources, asymmetric information, moral hazard, minimal understanding of members and member preferences.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the legality and implementation of digital productive waqf based on agribusiness through a case study of the Cavendish Banana Waqf Program on the Satu Wakaf Indonesia platform. The main issue examined concerns the legal validity and compliance of productive waqf practices with Islamic principles in the digital era. This research employs a qualitative case study approach supported by library research, focusing on legal sources such as Law No. 41 of 2004 on Waqf, Government Regulation No. 42 of 2006, DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 02 of 2002, and BWI Regulation No. 1 of 2020, along with secondary data from Satu Wakaf Indonesia’s digital reports. Data collection techniques include document analysis of legal frameworks, official waqf management reports, and academic literature on digital waqf. The findings reveal that digital productive waqf practices fulfill both formal legality requirements and maqashid sharia principles, such as hifz al-māl (preservation of wealth), tanmiyah al-māl (wealth productivity), and maslahah (social benefit). Moreover, the integration of digital technology enhances accountability, transparency, and public participation in waqf management. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of Islamic economic law in the field of digital waqf, while practically it highlights the need for adaptive regulations and professional digital naẓīr governance. Further research is recommended to explore digital waqf models in other sectors to deepen the understanding of its contribution to sustainable Islamic economic development. Keywords: Digitalization, Productive Waqaf, Islamic Economics, Legality, Community Empowertment.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of BUMP (Pesantren-Owned Enterprises) in supporting the economic independence of Islamic boarding schools, analyze the forms of BUMP’s contribution to the sustainability of education at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid, and examine the management strategies of BUMP in ensuring the sustainability of both the economic and educational aspects of the pesantren. This study employs a naturalistic qualitative approach with phenomenological analysis, supported by the theoretical frameworks of Sustainable Development Theory, Human Capital Theory, and the Triple Bottom Line. These three theories are applied to examine the relationship among the economic, educational, and social dimensions that are integrated within BUMP’s management system. Thus, this research not only evaluates business success from an economic standpoint but also its contribution to the continuity of education. The findings of the study highlight six main strategies in BUMP management: strengthening Sharia-based governance through SOPs and financial report digitalization; business diversification encompassing trade, laundry, agribusiness, and digital platforms; integrating business with education through skill laboratories and student internships; strengthening alumni networks and strategic partnerships; digitizing financial management with Accurate and IPOS Ultimate applications; and developing a grand design for sustainability that synergizes economic, educational, leadership development, and physical infrastructure aspects. These findings affirm that BUMP can serve as a model for pesantren economic independence that is relevant to the challenges of the modern era while maintaining the identity of Islamic values.

Abstract

Markets have an important position in the economy. Islam acknowledges the existence of a market mechanism on condition that the market can function perfectly. However, in reality, there are often market distortions caused by the seller's mistake. So from that, this study aims to clarify how Al-Ghazali and Ibnu Taimiyah think about the market mechanisms and regulation of the market mekanisms that exist at the moment. The methodology used in this writing is a qualitative method of library study, i.e. studying ideas and findings contained in articles or, journals, books, dissertations related to scientific information. The results of this study suggest that Al-Ghazali and Ibnu Taimiyah agreed on price setting, that is, that prices are fixed through the power of supply and demand, only in cases where prices rise due to the occurrence of unfairness and inequality of market mechanisms, then the government can interfere in setting prices.

Abstract

Ideally, women’s empowerment is expected to enhance family economic welfare while simultaneously strengthening children’s education, asset management, and social responsibility in accordance with the principles of Maqashid Sharia. However, empirical realities indicate limitations in economic literacy, access to capital, and adequate social support, which hinder the optimal contribution of women to the family economy. This study aims to analyze the role of women’s empowerment in improving family economic conditions from the perspective of Maqashid Sharia and to examine its implications for the social and moral well-being of families. The research employs a qualitative field approach using a case study of the Al-Hikmah Women’s Cooperative in Drajat Village, Baureno District, Bojonegoro Regency. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with cooperative members, participatory observation, and documentation of economic activities, while secondary data were obtained from fiqh literature, scholarly journals, and documents related to Maqashid Sharia. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods, supported by source and technique triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results indicate that women’s empowerment through cooperatives contributes to increased family income, strengthened asset management, support for children’s education, and the reinforcement of families’ social and moral values. The integration of Maqashid Sharia principles ensures that women’s economic empowerment generates not only material benefits but also spiritual and social impacts on community welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the harmonization of social and religious values within Sharia economic practices, focusing on the Indonesian context. The objective is to understand how these values can be integrated into everyday economic activities to promote ethical behavior and community welfare. Utilizing a systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, the research synthesizes various academic sources to identify key themes, trends, and insights. The thematic analysis reveals that education and awareness are crucial in fostering a Sharia-compliant economic environment. The findings highlight the significant role of Islamic finance in aligning financial practices with social values such as equity and justice, which are essential for community development. Additionally, the research identifies challenges, including diverse religious interpretations and limited awareness, which hinder the growth of Islamic economics in a pluralistic society. The study concludes that targeted educational initiatives and robust regulatory frameworks are necessary to facilitate the acceptance and effectiveness of Sharia economic practices.
