Abstract

Banten is one province in Indonesia which has a variety of objects and the potential tourism. One of the tourist area is Ujung Kulon National Park. Ujung Kulon National Park is a kind of ecological tourism (ecotourism) that located in Pandeglang. This national park is very well known to foreign tourists and domestic tourists, primarily as a place of preservation of the Javan rhino (one-horned rhino and buffalo). However, tourist arrivals Ujung Kulon National Park in 2010 has decreased, therefore necessary to conduct research on aspects related to increasing the number of visits. including through programs conducted by the marketing communication manager Ujung Kulon National Park. Based on this, the researcher interested to conduct research The Influence of Marketing Communication Programs towards Visiting Decision in Ujung Kulon National Park. The problem of this study are 1). How the idea of marketing communication programs, 2). How the idea of the decision to visit, 3). How does influence marketing communication programs to the visiting decision. This study aims to obtain marketing communication description, visiting decision description and the influence of marketing communications programs to the visiting decision. The technical analysis of the data in this study is used the analysis of the path (path analysis) with a sampling technique is systematic random sampling of 100 respondents. The results of this study indicate that marketing communication programs have a significant influence on the decision to visit. Greatest effect is obtained through advertising and the smallest effect is obtained through the event and experience. This is because advertising is a means of promotion through various media such as print and electronic media that can provide more information to tourists. Suggestion for managers Ujung Kulon National Park, should further develop marketing programs through organized events and improve the quality of tourist attractions as well as provide information best time to visit the National Park Ujung Kulon.

Abstract

Bogor Botanical Gardens (KRB), has a tourist attraction (DTW) in the form of natural beauty and have never experienced a change from the previous hundred years. Tourists (wisnus) contributed 97% of the number of visits, but the number of visits wisnus from year to year decline, with the known factors that drive wisnus who visited the BBG, BBG manager can know wisnus needs when traveling, need for such wisnus can be met and can be marketed through various marketing programs. Based background, then the formulation of this study as follows: 1) Describing the factors driving wisnus to KRB. 2) How would the decision to visit KRB. 3) How does the influence of the push factors driving the decision wisnus to visit KRB. This type of study is a deskritif and verifikatif, so the method used is the explanatory survey. Sampling technique is systematic random sampling with a sample size of 100 respondents. Data analysis technique used is of the Path Analysis with SPSS 18.0 software. The results showed that the response domestic tourists of push factors Driving Been Against Decision to KRB is generally considered quite high. Factors that gets the highest ratings of the relaxation factor of 0.227 or 22.7%, because KRB has a very beautiful natural setting and have the cool air that makes wisnus want to make a visit to the KRB in order to refresh themselves both physically and mentally, while the response factor wisnus about family and friend togetherness undervalued. Domestic tourists responses to the decision in general been quite high in value. Factors that gets the highest ratings on the choice of brands for 20.74%. This is because KRB has a very good name in the minds of domestic tourists regarding both the popularity and uniqueness tourist attraction owned by KRB, and the introduction of the tourist attraction offered by KRB While assessors are the lowest is in the choice of products and services that is equal to 19.3%. Verificative results indicate that the push factors driving have a significant high value in influencing the decision to visit that is equal to 82.43%. This means that the better the factors that drive the more powerful it wisnus decision to KRB, there is a sub-variable that does not have a significant influence is relaxation. This is because every wisnus who visited the KRB aims to relax but now will make a visit to the KRB wisnus obstacles by traffic jam that often occur in the city of Bogor, the heavy rains that often inhibits wisnus to visit and day trips to the KRB and the unavailability of the area parking on the weekend.

Abstract

Persebaran industri termasuk ke dalam proses yang selektif, dimana ada faktor-faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam membentuk suatu pola persebaran industri. Secara geografis, keberadaan industri-industri kulit di Kabupaten Garut cenderung terkonsentrasi dua kecamatan, yaitu di Kecamatan Garut Kota dan Karangpawitan. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut maka permasalahan penelitian difokuskan pada analisis faktor-faktor geografis pada konsentrasi Industri Kulit di Kabupaten Garut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah sbb: 1) mendeskripsikan pola konsentrasi industri barang kerajinan kulit; 2) memperoleh gambaran mengenai ketersediaan bahan baku dan pengaruhnya terhadap lokasi industri barang kerajinan kulit; 3) memperoleh gambaran mengenai ketersediaan tenaga kerja dan pengaruhnya terhadap lokasi industri barang kerajinan kulit; dan 4) mendeskripsikan daerah-daerah pemasaran dan pengaruhnya terhadap lokasi industri barang kerajinan kulit di Kabupaten Garut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriprif. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 20 pengusaha, 75 tenaga kerja dan 100 diambil dari masyarakat yang bukan pengrajin kulit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola konsentrasi industri barang kerajinan kulit di Kabupaten Garut bersifat mengelompok dengan nilai indeks tetangga terdekat sebesar 0,69199842. Konsentrasi industri kulit sangat dipengaruhi oleh faktor bahan baku yang tersedia di kawasan Sukaregang dengan tingkat korelasi sebesar 0,473, menghubungkan antara ketersediaan bahan baku dengan lokasi industri yang ada di Kota Wetan, Karangmulya dan Lebak Agung. Lokasi industri tidak terlalu berpengaruh terhadap ketersediaan tenaga kerja. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hubungan antar variabel tersebut sebesar 0,245 yang menunjukkan pola hubungan yang lemah. Dalam hal pemasaran produk kerajinan kulit banyak dipasarkan ke kota-kota luar provinsi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka didapat nilai korelasi sebesar 0,226 antara daerah pemasaran dengan lokasi industri.

Abstract

Tantangan dalam pembelajaran geografi adalah penyampaian konsep-konsep esensial yang terdapat pada materi pembelajaran yang terkadang sulit untuk dihadirkan langsung di dalam kelas. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut adalah penggunaan media pembelajaran audio visual yang dapat menjadi simplikasi dari realitas yang kompleks. Melalui penggunaan media audio visual, peserta didik diharapkan dapat mengamati konsep-konsep yang terkandung dalam materi pembelajaran dengan proses pengalaman melalui inderanya sehingga meningkatkan pemahaman konsep geografi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi pemahaman konsep peserta didik ketika menggunakan media audio dalam pembelajaran geografi di SMA Labschool UPI Bandung.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni metode eksperimen kuasi dengan pola desain kelompok kontrol pretes-pascates berpasangan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SMA Labschool UPI Bandung dengan dua kelas sebagai sampel penelitian yakni X IPS sebagai kelas eksperimen yang akan menggunakan media audio visual dan kelas X IPS 3 sebagai kelas kontrol yang tidak menggunakan media audio visual  dalam pembelajaran geografi sub materi seisme. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan tes pemahaman konsep dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yakni uji statistik diantaranya uji normalitas menggunakan chi square, uji homogenitas menggunakan uji-F, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukan adanya peningkatan skor gain rata-rata kelas eksperimen pada ketiga indikator yakni translasi (1,43), intrepretasi (1,40), dan ekstrapolasi (0,71) yang lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol yakni translasi (1,14), intrepretasi (1,49), dan ekstrapolasi (0,54). Kesimpulannya, pembelajaran geografi dengan penggunaan media audio visual jauh lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik khususnya pada indikator translasi.

Abstract

Forest tourism always improve itself to be better as like as the progressive of sustainable tourism and tourist has knew to go back to nature. The sustainable tourism well going on it is the ecotourism. One of the ecotourism area who famous is it Ir.H.Djuanda grand forest park. As a nature-based tourism Ir.H.Djuanda grand forest park need strategy to increase number of visit’s, they using elements of ecotourism strategy. Elements of ecotourism as independent variable (X) is nature, education and sustainability, and dependent variable (Y) is visit decision. Sustainable and education differentiating ecotourism from “nature-based tourism”. This type of research was descriptive verificative research and sampling methode use was systematic random sampling with the amount of sampling was 100 domestic tourist who has visited Ir.H.Djuanda grand forest park. Techniques of data analysis and hypothesis testing used was multiple linear regression analysis. The result showed that the dimension of the element of ecotourism education and visit decision dimension on purchase timing at the lowest score if we compared to other dimension. However it can be concluded that the elements of ecotourism Ir.H.Djuanda grand forest park and the visit decision to Ir.H.Djuanda grand forest park in the category of avarage, and also elements of ecotourism has influence the visit decision.Keyword : ecotourism, visit decision, grand forest park.

Abstract

Bengkulu is one of the provinces in Indonesia, which has many potentials in terms of natural and cultural diversity. Looking at the numbers of potentials for cultural tourism around the province, Bengkulu Province was expected to increase the number of tourists for its unique characteristic and good image adhering in the minds of prospective tourists as a cultural destination. Problems occurred in Bengkulu Province is a fluctuating level of tourist visits to the province, and the growth level tends to be low. This is due to the image of Bengkulu Province as a tourist destination that is not good enough in the minds of prospective tourists. Hence, Anjungan Bengkulu, which is located in Indonesian Miniature Park, Jakarta was having the effort to overcome this problem. Therefore, the researcher chose Cultural Event as the solution that can be implemented to improve the Destination Image of the province. On this study, the independent variable (X) was Cultural Event, consisting of Spectacularisation, Theme, Participation and Immersion. The dependent variable (Y) was Destination Image. The type of the research used was a descriptive explanatory survey, and supported by the cross-sectional method. The samples in this study were 108 respondents consisting of individual visitors at the Anjungan Bengkulu Cultural Event, the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis technique employed was multiple regressions. The result showed that the implementation of Cultural Event at Anjungan Bengkulu was assessed in the high category, with a dimension of "Spectacularisation" received highest score, and the lowest one was the "theme". Subsequently, visitors’ response regarding Destination Image at Anjungan Bengkulu was also categorized in a very high level, with a dimension of cognitive image received highest score and dimension of affective image became the lowest one. Results showed that there is a significant influence between Culture Event and Destination Image.

Abstract

One of the famous, and still developing, attractions in South Tangerang are Taman Kota. It is a city-park located at the center of the city, there is a red bridge inside which is very popular among the people of South Tangerang. There is also the tributary of Cisadane and lots of bushy trees, which provide natural shades. There is a decrease in visitors of Taman Kota from 2011 to 2014 because there are a lot of tourism attraction competitors in South Tangerang. One of the efforts done by Taman Kota to increase the decision to visit is by improving the management understanding of tourist motivation. The independent variable in this research is tourist motivation (X) which consists of some sub variables, which are nature, value for money, and physical activities. The dependent variable is the decision to visit (Y) which consists of product selection, brand selection, line of selection, time of visit selection and the frequency attending the attraction. The research types used are descriptive and verification. The method used was an explanatory survey. The samples of this research are 100 respondents, which were drawn by using systematic random sampling. Hypothesis testing data analysis technique used was multiple regressions. Tourists’ responses regarding to the motivation in Taman Kota were considered high. The result from this research shows that the most influential sub variable is nature, and the less is on the physical activities. Tourists’ responses to the decision to visit were also considered high. Line of the selection indicators got the highest score; meanwhile, the time of visit selection got the lowest score. Based on the testing through SPSS 20 for windows, there is a simultaneous and partial influence between tourist motivation and the decision to visit. The recommendation to the management of Taman Kota to increase the decision to visit is by optimizing the object as tourism appeal for physical activities.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to compare the differences in perceptual tendencies between male and female students, (2) to analyze the opportunities for the effectiveness of the application of the imaginary map method in the classroom from a gender perspective. The total population of this study was 46 students of Geography Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, with a gender ratio of 50:50. Data were obtained by using literature study and questionnaire methods, and data analysis used was quantitative and qualitative. From the research, data are acquired that there is a general tendency for the same perception between genders, but the difference is that female has a wider and different level of object perception. Although there was a majority of answers to object perception, about 40% of students have a completely different perception of an object. Therefore, to be applied to the classroom, the teacher can work around by providing an imaginary map with the shape of an object that has been given a bold line, so that the image given to students can be more purpose-driven kind of attention. Furthermore, it is necessary to examine the method of the imaginary map directly to students who currently studying map material in class, as well as the need to develop imaginary objects for maps of all countries.

Abstract

Employee performance from the most vulnerable literature occurs in the restaurant Saung Kabayan Bandung. As low as employees' knowledge and initiative can affect performance. Therefore, improving performance needs to pay attention to competency and compensation factors. This study aims to determine the effect of 1) Competence on employee performance; 2) Compensation for employee performance, and 3) Competence and compensation for employee performance. The dimensions of competency variables (X1) consistency of motives, traits, self-concept, knowledge and skills and; compensation variable (X2) consisting of salary and wages, incentives, benefits, and adequate facilities and; Employee performance variable (Y) consists of work quality, timeliness, initiative, ability, and communication. This research uses a descriptive and verification approach. The method used is an explanatory survey with a sample of 56 respondents (saturated sample). The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that competence and compensation had a positive and significant effect both partially and simultaneously on employee performance at Saung Kabayan Restaurant Bandung with a coefficient value of 67.5%. Based on research results, competencies need to be improved through training activities, but competencies need to be balanced with fair compensation so as to improve employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the strategy that must be carried out by Primadeva Utama Catering is to develop business in the face of increasingly fierce catering industry competition in the city of Makassar. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The data obtained were then analyzed using IFAS matrices, EFAS matrices, IE matrices, SWOT matrices, and QSPM matrices. The IFAS and EFAS matrix analysis results show that the internal factors with the highest value are the taste and portion of food, while for external factors is a broad target market, ranging from the lower middle class to the upper class. Based on the results of the IE matrix analysis, Primadeva Utama Catering is in quadrant five. This position shows a good growth strategy used by the company is concentration through horizontal integrity, which is innovating or modifying products and utilizing economies of scale in profits in production and marketing. With this in mind, the authors recommend 7 alternative strategies for developing the Primadeva Utama Catering business based on the results of the SWOT matrix analysis. Through data processing using QSPM, it can be seen that the alternative is a priority strategy to innovate on a price menu and flexible service package by considering consumer demand trends, these trends are a form of service events and consumer purchasing power with Stas. a value of 7.17.Â
