Abstract

National defense is a form of effort to maintain state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national safety. In Indonesia, the national defense system is used in the form of a universal people's defense system that involves all resources prepared by the government and is carried out in a total, integrated, directed, and sustainable manner. The common people's defense and security system is used in dealing with various threats. Military threats place the Indonesian National Army (TNI) as the main component, while non-military threats place Ministries/Institutions as the main component. This study will identify how dentists can play a role in strengthening the defense system in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques through literature studies and field observations. The results showed that in strengthening the defense system, dentists had the following roles namely 1) examination and treatment of the dental and oral health of soldiers, when the condition of the teeth is not good, it would interfere with the personnel’s performance in the field; 2) in military operations, dentists also play a role in recording the ante mortem of troops; and 3) in the field of review, plays a very large role in identifying disaster victims, this is because teeth are the only part of the body that has a good level of resistance. Military dentists as one of the professionals in the health sector in Indonesia play an active role in strengthening the national defense system, but the distribution of human resources for health workers is still not evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. There needs an effort to manage dental health personnel so that the rights of every Indonesian citizen in the health sector, especially dental health, can be fulfilled optimally.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Esemka, Inovasi, Kendaraan khusus militer AbstractThe procurement of military vehicles for installations and infrastructure is expected to assist the success of every duty to the nation in building a better Indonesia. These vehicles can be found in the form of two-wheeled, four-wheeled, or tactical and combat vehicles in order to achieve effectiveness and efficiency. To achieve the goal, an alternative policy is needed to be implemented to fulfill the needs of military-qualified vehicles in the future. It is highly suggested that the government needs to start encouraging the defense industry and the national automotive industry to be able to produce the products needed by fully utilizing local component content, in this case, the Esemka car. Innovation Theory is used to explain the use of the Esemka car as a fulfillment of the needs of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) military vehicles with a qualitative methodological approach. The results of this study indicate that the innovation process encourages the creation of new domestically produced products that can eliminate the gap in the need for military vehicles in Indonesia. Keywords : Esemka, Innovation, Military Vehicle

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Peran, Komponen Cadangan, Pertahanan, Indonesia AbstractThe paradigm shift in the defense system in Indonesia makes people have rights and obligations to participate in defending the integrity of the country. Indonesia is located adjacent to 10 neighboring countries directly, both by sea and by land. This condition makes Indonesia have to increase its defense. One way is to use spare components. The purpose of this study is to see what kind of role the reserve component plays in assisting the main components in maintaining the integrity and defense of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method in which primary data is obtained through previous journals and secondary data is obtained through documents related to defense in Indonesia. The results of this study are the role of reserve components in maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia not only through war. But there are also those who are placed in the administrative assistance section, and combat assistance. The role of the reserve component is also very important in assisting the reserve component in maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of Indonesia because the standard value of Indonesia's Minimum Basic Strength is still relatively low. With the reserve component, the value of Indonesia's minimum principal strength also increases. The reserve component is also not bound by country unlike the main component. Reserve components will be returned to their respective areas and will be summoned when needed in conditions of war. Keywords: Role; Reserve Components; Defense; Indonesia

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a global health problem. It poses a significant burden worldwide, requiring urgent control measures and research for effective reduction especially in Indonesia. Objective: Investigating the effects of literacy, population density, and access to improved sanitation on TB incidence can provide insights into the relationship between these factors. Methods: This study was conducted in Jakarta, Indonesia from June to July 2023, using secondary data from 2005 to 2021. It employed a quantitative cross-sectional design to examine the relationship between variables. Data were collected from the ASEAN database and analyzed using descriptive and path analysis techniques to determine variable effects and significance. The study found that the incidence of tuberculosis in Indonesia initially decreased from 2005 to 2020 but significantly increased in 2021.Results: Population density, adult literacy rate, and access to improved sanitation all showed positive trends. Significant direct effects were observed among most variables, and indirect effects of population density on tuberculosis incidence were also identified through literacy and sanitation. The final model showed that higher population density correlated with increased access to sanitation and literacy rate, while access to improved sanitation was associated with reduced tuberculosis incidence. Overall, the model had a very good fit based on the indicators. Conclusion: Priority investments in sanitation infrastructure, especially in densely populated areas, along with improved access to sanitation facilities, combined with targeted health education campaigns and collaboration across defense, health, and education sectors, are recommended to enhance tuberculosis prevention and control
