Abstract

This research purpose is to analyse the implications of parental involvement on the development of elementary school students' spiritual intelligence. The active role of teachers in activities involving parents is a strategic step for teachers in maximising the process of education and spiritual development of students. The qualitative method involving a field approach was used in this study. Then participatory observation, in-depth interviews and documentation analysis were used to collect data and analyse the data using the stages of analysis developed by Miles & Huberman. The result is that teachers at SD Negeri Nganti Gemolong always try to provide a good and impactful educational process through learning patterns that emphasise the development of students' spiritual intelligence such as Islamic boarding school, Jumanji (Jumaat mengaji). Then the active role of parents through involvement in every child's activities at school is one of the factors that significantly encourage the development of children's spiritual intelligence. The implication for children is that they are able to understand and implement the content of spiritual intelligence such as, obeying worship, tolerance, honouring parents, honesty and behaviour that reflects akhlakul karimah. It is hoped that further research will develop extracurricular programmes that are oriented towards the development of students' spiritual intelligence by involving parents.

Abstract

Oral health is an important aspect in children's growth and development. Problems such as cavities and poor oral hygiene can affect academic achievement and quality of life. This activity aims to increase student awareness of the importance of maintaining oral health from an early age. This community service was carried out on 83 students in grades 4 and 5 of Elementry School Hang Tuah 6 Surabaya by providing health promotion education and dental and oral examinations. The activity was carried out by involving a team of dentists and assisted by students from the Faculty of Dentistry, Hang Tuah University. It began with a pre-test assessment before education was given and a post-test after education was given, followed by a dental and oral health examination. The average pre-test score was 69.39 and the average post-test score was 86.59. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, p-value <0.05, showed a significant difference between the Pre-Test and Post-Test scores. This means that after dental health education, their knowledge and awareness of dental and oral health increased. For students who have dental problems such as cavities, they are followed up with dental care at Nala Husada Dental Hospital. It is hoped that with this program, awareness of dental and oral health will increase, the number of cases of toothache and swollen gums will decrease, and there will be changes in behavior in maintaining dental and oral health.

Abstract

Dental and oral problems in Indonesian children are caused by low knowledge, comprehension, and behavior that ignores dental and oral health maintenance, resulting in tooth and mouth damage. This activity is in partnership with SD Yapita which is a school supported by the Faculty of Dentistry, Hang Tuah University. The aim is to prepare parents and teachers of Yapita Elementary School students to become ambassadors for oral and dental hygiene so that they can become mentors for their children or students. This method is carried out online and offline from classes 1 to 6 using a simple random sampling technique. The results were statistically analyzed using the Paired T-test. The average pre-test score from the teacher was 60 and the parents were 56, while the post-test result from the teacher was 84 and the parents was 85. The results of the data analysis were normally distributed (p>0.05) followed by the Paired correlation test T-test. The results show a relationship between the pre and post-test of teachers and parents. This shows that this educational activity can increase the knowledge of teachers and parents so that they can become ambassadors of oral and dental hygiene to their children or students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal statistika. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian siswa SD Negeri Nganti Gemolong berjumlah 28 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik dokumentasi berupa hasil pekerjaan siswa berdasarkan instrumen soal statistika dengan parameter kompetensi meliputi: 1) Menentukan modus, 2) Menentukan median dari data berjumlah ganjil, 3) Menentukan median dari data berjumlah genap, 4) Menghitung nilai rata-rata suatu data, 5) Menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesalahan siswa tergolong tinggi, terutama dalam menghitung rata-rata (57%) dan menganalisis data (82%). Rendahnya pemahaman konsep dasar statistika, kesulitan memodelkan masalah matematika, serta lemahnya kemampuan menarik kesimpulan menjadi faktor penyebab utama permasalahan tersebut.

Abstract

Background: Enterococcus faecalis is considered the most common cause of root canal failure and persistent infection. The standard irrigation solution is 5.25% NaOCl which has drawbacks, such as causing inflammation in the periapical area. New antibacterial agents from natural materials with similar antibacterial properties to chemicals have been developed. Avicennia marina contains flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and avicequinone, which can inhibit bacterial metabolism. Objective: to determine the effect of Avicennia marina leaf extract with various concentrations on the antibacterial inhibitory power of Enterococcus faecalis as a root canal irrigation material. Materials and Methods: The samples were divided into six groups: K+ (5.25% NaOCl), K- (distilled water), P1 (7.5%), P2 (12.5%), P3 (17.5%), and P4 (22.5%). The leaves of Avicennia marina were extracted using ethanol maceration with a rotary evaporator to obtain a concentrated extract, which was then diluted with distilled water to the desired concentrations. The antibacterial effect was tested using the disk diffusion method by applying 0.01 ml of each test sample to sterile paper disks with a sterile micropipette. Results: Inhibition zones were observed as follows: K+ (21.67 mm), P1 (0 mm), P2 (10.50 mm), P3 (13.50 mm), and P4 (14.50 mm). Mann Whitney tests showed significant differences (p < 0.05) between K+ and P1, P2, P3 and P4, as well as between P3 and P4. Conclusion: Avicennia marina leaf extract had antibacterial effects against Enterococcus faecalis at concentrations of 12.5%, 17.5%, and 22.5%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi pendidikan multikultural melalui program KB (Kamis Budaya) dan implikasinya terhadap pembentukan karakter religius siswa. Program KB (Kamis Budaya) merupakan kegiatan rutinitas yang dibangun sebagai ruang terbuka bagi siswa dengan latar budaya dan keyakinan yang berbeda. Metode kualitatif dengan melibatkan pendekatan lapangan (field research) digunakan dalam penelitian ini. adapun tekhnik observasi parsipatif, wawancara semi terstruktur dan dokumentasi merupakan tekhnik pengumpulan data. kemudian analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa pendidikan multikultural di SD Negeri Gurawan senantiasa diterapkan oleh guru, hal ini dilakukan agar terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan mendukung. Dalam upaya membentuk karakter religius siswa, pendidikan multikultural melalui Program Kamis Budaya (KB) terbukti mampu memberikan dampak positif pada aspek karakter religius, seperti sopan santun, toleransi, kepedulian, dan keadilan. Diharapkan peneliti selanjutnya dapat mengembangkan program Kamis Budaya (KB) dengan mengintegrasikan pembelajaran berbasis digital agar siswa lebih cepat memahami.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui langkah-langkah kolaborasi yang dilakukan oleh guru dan orang tua siswa dalam mendorong perkembangan anak yang tergolong berkebutuhan khusus. Anak berkebutuhan khusus pada kasus di SD Negeri Nganti Gemolong menghadapi berbagai hambatan, baik pada aspek kognitif maupun motorik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi dan wawancara mendalam, serta analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi antara guru dan orang tua siswa di SD Negeri Nganti Gemolong berjalan secara aktif dan berkelanjutan dalam mendukung perkembangan anak berkebutuhan khusus. Keterlibatan orang tua dalam proses pembelajaran memberikan motivasi yang tinggi sehingga siswa termotivasi untuk terus semangat belajar. Selain itu, pola asuh yang diterapkan di rumah dengan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang tenang, rapi, dan nyaman menjadi langkah progresif yang efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan anak, baik pada aspek kognitif maupun motorik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus tentang manajemen strategis kepala sekolah dalam transformasi kualitas pendidikan. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang dilaksanakan langsung di SD Islam Darussalam Surakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini mencakup tiga metode utama yaitu observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menerangkan bahwa strategi kepala sekolah pertama perencanaan yakni pembentukan tim dan perumusan visi misi yang sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman dan peraturan pemerintah. Kedua pelaksanaan dalam bentuk kegiataan atau tindakan, ketiga evaluasi dilaksanakan melalui rapat informal ataupun formal. Rapat formal dilaksanakan secara rutin baik di tingkat internal bidang ataupun secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam memberikan pemahaman empiris mengenai peran kepala sekolah dalam mendorong transformasi mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

Background: Scaffold can be use in bone regeneration, but it should have similarities characteristic to a natural bone such as compressive strength that supported the process of growth and development of bone. This research use scaffold that made from chitosan and Aloe vera. Chitosan well-known as osteoconductive material, meanwhile Aloe vera was osteoinductive material. Purpose: The aim of this research was to compare compressive strength scaffold combinations of chitosan and Aloe vera extracted water and ethanol. Materials and Methods: Research design using post test only control group design with 36 scaffolds divided into 6 groups. Group 1 was scaffold Aloe vera extracted water (AVa), group 2 was scaffold Aloe vera extracted ethanol (AVe), group 3 was scaffold combination chitosan and Aloe vera extracted water 1: 1 (k-AVa1), group 4 was the scaffold combination of chitosan and Aloe vera extracted ethanol 1: 1 (k-AVe1), group 5 was scaffold combination of chitosan and Aloe vera extracted water 1: 2 (k-AVa2), and group 6 was scaffold combination of chitosan and Aloe vera ethanol extract 1: 2 (k -AVe2). Compressive strength test used Universal Testing Machine (Shimadzu Autograph–AGS–1kNX and using software Trapezium X). Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and Games Howell test. Results: The result of compressive strength AVa=1.36 MPa, AVe=1.03 MPa, k-AVa1=0.27 MPa, k-AVe1=0.11 MPa, k-AVa2=0.38 MPa, and k-AVe2=0.29 MPa. All groups have significant differences except AVa & AVe and k-AVa1 & K-AVe2 (p>0,05). Conclusion: There was difference between compressive strength scaffold combinations of chitosan and Aloe vera extracted water and ethanol, and the most highest compressive strength is AVa.
