Abstract

Healthy snacks are crucial for supporting the growth and development of elementary school-aged children. The high number of students consuming unhealthy snacks indicates the need for health education on the importance of healthy snacks. The education provided in this community service activity is JANAT (healthy snacks) using audiovisual media, with the aim of the information can be easily and effectively absorbed by primary student. After sequence of preparations from the initial survey and situation analysis, the activity was carried out for one day with 57 6th grade primary students participating. Evaluation of the activity results used pre- and post-test questionnaires, and the results showed that before receiving education, students' knowledge levels were at a good level (68.42%), moderate (31.58%). After receiving education, students' knowledge levels were at a good level (96.49%), moderate (3.51%). This indicates that there was an increase in knowledge among 6th grade primary students after receiving health education on the importance of JANAT.

Abstract

Emergency conditions can occur anywhere and anytime. Medical personnel have an obligation to help deal with this situation, even though it is not uncommon for emergencies to occur in areas that are difficult for medical personnel to reach. Community participation in overcoming this situation before it is handled by the medical team is very important. One of the keys to the success of emergency relief is the provision of assistance from the community, which is the first element in finding the victim. The only health facility in Curah Cottok Village is the Primary Health Center (Puskesmas), which is five kilometers away and medical personnel are rarely available. The aim of health education in this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of the people of Curah Cottok Village and their role in handling emergencies. This activity was attended by 30 cadres and village officials. The methods used are lectures, demonstrations, and discussions. Pre-test and post-test is done by filled the questionnaire. Results: There were differences in the results of the correct answers pre and post the emergency management training. The increase is between 3 and 5 points. Conclusion: After training in emergency management, the community's knowledge has increased.

Abstract

Cleanliness is the main key to improving health, especially for children. The hands are the part of the body that is first exposed to the external environment, because everything will be touched or held by the hands. This situation is the main gate for germs/viruses/bacteria to enter the body, as well as teeth. So if hand and teeth hygiene cannot be maintained properly, the body will easily be attacked by disease which will disrupt the child's growth and development process. This health education is provided with the aim of helping to increase knowledge and behavior of clean and healthy living in children. The methods used are: lecture, discussion and demonstration. Participants in this activity are school age children in Curah Cottok village, Situbondo.
