Abstract

The mental condition of adolescents and children in Papua is currently worrying. They are vulnerable to various problems at the developmental stage such as mental and emotional problems related to emotional disorders, depression, resistance and behavioral disorders. the behavior or actions that arise by each individual depends on the emotional and thought conditions that arise before they decide to do something. The research is a descriptive analytic study with cross-sectional design aimed to determine the conditions that affect mental health in 80 teenage students of SMK Negeri 1 Sorong. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire. simple logistic regression analysis test results show that parenting style, motivation and discipline simultaneously have an effect on adolescent mental health with a significance value (0,000 0.005). Discipline, learning motivation has an influence on adolescent mental health with a significance value (0,000 0.005) but parenting does not affect adolescent mental health with a significance value (0.382 0.005).  Adolescents need support including the environment to prevent mental disorders because it has a close relationship with academic success. Keywords: Parenting style, Motivation, Dicipline, Mental health, Adolescents

Abstract

Ages 5 to 12 years are the age group that is susceptible to caries. The high caries prevalence rate of 42.6% reflects the low level of knowledge about dental health. The knowledge about dental and oral health will indirectly influence the health of the teeth and mouth so that it can prevent dental caries. The knowledge is used as a self-education to achieve the optimal dental and oral health. To find out the relationship between the dental caries knowledge level with the DMF-T Index. This research used the analytic survey with the cross-sectional data collection. This research was conducted in December 2018 to January 2019. The population in this research was the 5th grade students of the North Walitelon State Elementary School. The samples of this research were the 39 5th-grade students with the total sampling. The research instruments were questionnaire and the DMF-T Index examination format. The data were analyzed using the Kendall’s tau-b correlation test. The level of knowledge with the good criteria had a low DMF-T Index of 92.3%, the moderate was as much as 2.6%, and the fair knowledge level had a low DMF-T Index of 5.1%. The Kendall’s tau-b test results showed a relationship between the dental caries knowledge level and the DMF-T Index, and the obtained p value = 0,000 (p < 0.05). Abstract

Craniotomy is a common surgical procedure in the neurosurgery division that involves making a sufficient hole in the cranium for optimal intracranial access. An important part of craniotomy is the maintenance of stable intracranial pressure by administering furosemide. The purpose of this administration is to observe changes in urine output. Objective to know the relationship between furosemide administration and changes in urine output volume of craniotomy patients at Hospital Tegal. This study was analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total of 31 respondents. Data analysis using fisher excat test. The results of this study showed that most patients experienced changes in urine output volume of 27 respondents (87.1%) with an average change in urine from 245.8 ml to 1469.3 ml. There is a statistically significant relationship between furosemide administration and changes in urine output volume of craniotomy patients with the fisher exact test obtained a value of r = 0.013, so that alternative hypothesis can be accepted. The Conclusion there is a relationship between furosemide administration and changes in urine output volume of craniotomy patients at hospital in Tegal City.

Abstract

Background: Extubation is an essential procedure in the termination of general anesthesia. Deep extubation is a comfortable option for patient but carries a higher risk of collapse and airway obstruction. Airway obstruction if not treated immediately will cause hypoxia which is the most common cause of death in anesthesia which is characterized by a decrease in oxygen saturation. Oxygenation therapy is not considered insufficient to prevent hypoxia, so combination of alternatives such as position management is needed to maintain airway patency. Objective: To determine the effect of head elevation 30 degrees on oxygen saturation post deep extubation in general anesthesia patients. Method: This research is a quantitative research using quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The study population included all orotracheal and nasotracheal general anesthesia patients who were deeply extubated. This study used consecutive sampling technique with 70 respondents divided into intervention group (head elevation 30 degrees) and control group (supination). This research was conducted in the recovery room at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta from February to April 2024. Results: The results showed that post deep extubation oxygen saturation given in the head elevation 30 degrees group had a mean result of 99.29 and in supination group got 97.86 where there was a better increase oxygen saturation if the patient post general anesthesia deep extubation in a head elevation 30 degree for 15 minutes compared to supination. Conclusion: There is an effect of head elevation 30 degrees on oxygen saturation post deep extubation in patients under general anesthesia.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections  (ARI) remain one of the primary causes of mortality among children under 5 in Indonesia, and poor inadequate drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions can exacerbated the transmission of respiratory pathogens. However, their association with ARIs in Indonesia remains underreported. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of these sanitation conditions to ARI symptoms in children under five in Indonesia. This research method was cross-sectional quantitative design study based on secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS), based on secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS), which was the most recent available at the time of the study. The determined sample consisted all toddlers aged 0-59 months, from women aged 15-49 years. The weighted sample that met the inclusion criteria (children aged 0-59 months, living with their parents, willing to answer questions) and exclusion criteria (missing data and "don't know" answers) consisted of 16,681 observations. Independent variables included sanitation infrastructure, mother’s education, wealth index, and residential location. The dependent variable was reported ARI symptoms in 2 weeks prior to the interview by their mother. Data were analyzed using CI 95% logistic regression to determine associations, and pathway analysis was conducted to explore the direct and indirect relationships among variables. Poor toilet facilities [OR: 1.80, CI: 1.46-2,27] increased the risk of ARI symptom, meanwhile treated water before consumption reduce the risk [OR:0.63, CI:0.51-0.77]. Long travel distances to clean water aslo were found as factor that increased the risk of ARI symptoms [OR:2.31, CI:0.65-3.02]. Indirect factors such as low mother’s education, low wealth index, and rural residency, also contributed to ARI symptoms in children. In conclusion, inadequate household sanitation significantly contribute to ARI symptoms in children under five in Indonesia. These findings underscore the need for improved sanitation infrastructure and targeted health interventions in vulnerable communities.

Abstract

The prevalence of anemia among pregnant women at the Mandor Community Health Center is quite high, reaching 27.4% of 575 targets, with 147 cases of mild anemia (9-10 g/dl) and 11 cases of moderate anemia (7-8 g/dl). Preventive measures were taken pharmacologically by administering 90 Fe tablets, as well as non-pharmacologically by consuming citrus fruits or dragon fruit combined with Fe tablets. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the combination of citrus fruits and Fe tablets compared to the combination of dragon fruit and Fe tablets in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia at the Mandor Community Health Center. Using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest two-group design, this study involved 44 samples from a population of 158, divided into two groups of 22 respondents each for the citrus fruit and dragon fruit interventions. The analysis results showed an increase in hemoglobin levels in both groups, with a median value of 10.750-11.750 for the citrus group and 10.070-11.150 for the dragon fruit group. The Mann Whitney test produced a p-value of 0.019 (<0.05), indicating that the combination of citrus fruit and iron tablets was more effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia than the combination of dragon fruit and iron tablets at the Mandor Community Health Center.
