Abstract

This study aims to look at improving student learning outcomes in the materials division using a thematic approach based teaching materials. This research is a classroom action research (Claassroom Action Research) with a research subject graders IIA MI Ahliyah 2 Palembang, the second semester of 2014/2015 the number of students 28 people, consisting of 14 male students and 14 female students. This study was conducted by two cycles following the model of a Class Action Research & McTaggart Kemmis models which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The process of collecting data by using observation and tests. Based on this research, the data obtained in the first cycle who scored ≥ 70 there were 17 students with learning completeness percentage amounted to 60.71% of students had reached the indicators of success and the second cycle there are 23 students who reached a value ≥ 70 on the percentage of students learning completeness by 82 , 14% had reached an indicator of success. With the student response rate reached 76.56% in the first cycle and the second cycle reaches 81.25%. It can be concluded that learning by using a thematic approach based teaching materials division performed in this research was effective, because it can improve student learning outcomes in the distribution of matter in class IIA MI Ahliyah II PalembangKeywords: a thematic approach, materials division

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan instrumen evaluasi hasil belajar siswa  pada materi statistik berbasis game kuis menggunakan Adobe Flash CS5 yang valid dan praktis serta mengetahui efek potensial dari penggunaan instrumen evaluasi pada materi statistik berbasis game kuis menggunakan Adobe Flash CS5 yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan (development Research). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen evaluasi berbasis game kuis menggunakan Adobe Flash yang valid dan praktis. Kriteria kevalidan terlihat dari hasil koreksi oleh ahli media, materi dan bahasa yang disimpulkan bahwa instrumen evaluasi berbasis game kuis sudah baik dan layak untuk dikembangkan, dari segi kepraktisannya terlihat pada saat melakukan uji coba small group yang menyatakan tidak ada kesulitan dalam pengoperasian media tersebut tanpa bantuan orang lain dan dapat mengerjakan soal kuis dengan baik. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil belajar siswa kelas XII Mia 1 diperoleh rata-rata 85,67 dengan kategori tergolong baik dan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja siswa berbasis pendekatan contextual teaching and learning pada materi prisma dan limas. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (development research) dengan dua tahap utama yaitu tahap preliminary (tahap persiapan, tahap pengembangan model) dan tahap formatif evaluation (tahap evaluasi dan tahap revisi). Subjek penelitian penelitian ini berjumlah 30 siswa yang terdiri dari 12 laki-laki,  18 perempuan, dan seluruhnya merupakan siswa kelas VIII7 di SMP Negeri 7 Palembang. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menganalisis dokumentasi, walkthrough, dan data hasil belajar. Rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah 77,57 dengan 20 siswa mendapatkan nilai 75 dan 9 siswa mendapatkan nilai < 75, menandakan bahwa hasil belajar siswa tergolong cukup baik dan penelitian yang dikembangkan memiliki efek potensial.

Abstract

Mathematics materials in elementary schools generally contain all basic knowledge about mathematics lessons at the school level. Counting operations are the initial concepts of mathematics that must be instilled in students. Division is one of the four main arithmetic operations whose concepts must be mastered by students as a way to maximize mathematical literacy skills at a further level. This study aims to produce a prototype 1 teaching material on multiplication material for grade II elementary school students who are taught thematically. Teaching materials are arranged using the theme of the city of Palembang which is close to the lives of students. This research is an early stage of development research. The research subjects were students of class II MI Hijriah II Palembang. The process of developing teaching materials is the preliminary stage, and the prototyping stage. Teaching materials are developed at the preliminary stage, namely the preparation of concepts that have not been mastered by students, planning on the basis of concepts that are still not mastered by students, determining competency standards, basic competencies, indicators, syllabus, lesson plans, determining the elements of teaching materials, collecting materials, compiling draft materials teach, test one to one and expert review. From the design of this prototype, the first prototype of teaching materials for integer arithmetic operations was produced for class II Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

Abstract

This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang in the academic year 2021/2022 with a sample of class VII U3 as the experimental class and VII U2 as the control class. After learning using the drill method based on the Kahoot application, the average value is  and the standard deviation is S1=14,8165. While learning using the drill method without the Kahoot application, the average value is  and the standard deviation is . Based on the criteria for testing the hypothesis, the value of  and  means that  is in the rejection area of Ho, which means Ha is accepted. Thus the hypothesis which states "There is a significant effect of the drill method based on the kahoot application on the mathematics learning outcomes of students with integer operations in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang.", is accepted as true

Abstract

Studi ini menyelidiki bagaimana kemampuan siswa kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) dipengaruhi oleh penguasaan operasi bentuk aljabar dan model matematika. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 139 siswa yang dipilih secara acak sederhana, dan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain korelasional digunakan. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes esai yang dianalisis dengan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan operasi bentuk aljabar dan model matematika, masing-masing, memiliki efek positif yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita SPLDV. Selain itu, pengaruh kombinasi kedua variabel ini, yang sangat besar secara bersamaan, menunjukkan betapa pentingnya pengajaran model matematika dan aljabar dalam kurikulum sekolah. Penelitian ini memberikan pendidik informasi yang berharga untuk membantu mereka mengembangkan metode pengajaran yang lebih efisien yang dapat meningkatkan prestasi siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan CRT berbantuan Google Sites. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek kelas X-9 SMA Negeri 9 Palembang tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi dan tes melalui lembar observasi dan soal tes formatif. Desain pada penelitian ini memuat empat tahap utama, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui penyajian data, reduksi data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada tahap pra siklus untuk indikator memahami masalah  sebesar 55,74% (cukup), merencanakan masalah sebesar 53,15% (cukup), melaksanakan rencana sebesar 64,17% (baik), dan memeriksa kembali sebesar 60,56% (baik). Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada siklus I mengalami perkembangan untuk semua indikator dimana indikator memahami masalah dikategorikan sangat baik dengan persentase sebesar 81,11%, merencanakan penyelesaian sebesar 76,85%, mengimplementasikan strategi sebesar 74,14%, serta memeriksa kembali jawaban sebesar 71,11% (ketiga indikator tersebut berada pada kategori baik). Tetapi, terdapat satu indikator yang masih dibawah ketuntasan yaitu indikator memeriksa kembali jawaban. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian dilanjutkan ke siklus. Pada siklus II, terjadi perkembangan kearah yang lebih baik untuk seluruh indikator. Persentase indikator memahami masalah sebesar 85,19%, merencanakan penyelesaian diperoleh sebesar 89,44%, melaksanakan rencana sebesar 82,84%, serta memeriksa kembali jawaban sebesar 81,02%. Semua indikator dikategorikan sangat baik dan keempat indikator kemampuan penyelesaian masalah matematis sudah menyentuh ketuntasan sehingga penelitian berhenti di siklus II. Hal ini memberikan dampak bahwa penerapan pendekatan CRT berbantuan Google Sites dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study is qualitative research that aims to determine the level of mathematics anxiety (MA) in prospective mathematics teacher at the Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. Subject of this study is 58 college students. This research use qualitative descriptive method. The data collection process are observation, questionnaire, and interview. Based on the research that has been carried out it is known that the most dominant criteria for mathematical anxiety are anxiety about mathematical tests and anxiety about mathematical assignments and numerical calculations. The cognitive domain includes: often feel worried when given questions by the lecturer suddenly, difficulty remembering and using mathematical procedures. The attitude domain includes: fear of not being able to answer questions from friends and not confident in doing the tasks given and transferring the knowledge that has been obtained. In the somatic domain include: heart pounding when the lecturer holds a quiz suddenly, feeling nauseous and suddenly dizzy when presenting the task in front of the class. In the mathematical representation domain includes: difficult to do math problems correctly and quickly because they do not understand the purpose of the problem and it is difficult to interpret words that are words into mathematical sentences.DOI: 10.22342/jpm.13.1.6827.9-20

Abstract

Developing students' critical thinking skills and improving cognitive learning outcomes remain essential goals in mathematics education. This study aimed to examine the implementation and effectiveness of the Inquiry Learning model in enhancing students' critical thinking abilities and understanding of prism and pyramid concepts. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart (1988) spiral model, consisting of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The study was conducted in two cycles involving 27 students of class IX B at MTs Muqimus Sunnah Palembang. The learning process integrated inquiry-based instruction supported by Student Worksheets (LKPD). Findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ cognitive learning outcomes. By the end of the second cycle, 81.48% of students achieved the minimum mastery criteria, reflecting increased understanding of geometric concepts. Observational data also revealed enhanced student engagement and active participation. The Inquiry Learning model effectively promoted critical thinking through student-led problem exploration, hypothesis formulation, and data analysis. The success of the Inquiry Learning model was attributed to its student-centered approach, which encouraged active learning and deeper conceptual understanding. Students demonstrated improved reasoning and problem-solving skills as a result of engaging with real learning challenges. The application of the Inquiry Learning model, supported by structured worksheets, effectively improved both critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes in geometry. This model is recommended for broader implementation in similar educational contexts.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that is often considered difficult to learn and teach, especially arithmetic operations on integers. This material plays an important role because it is a basic concept that students must master as a foundation for learning subsequent mathematics materials. However, in reality, many students at the junior high school (SMP) level experience difficulties in understanding this material. One of the causes is the use of inappropriate learning media. To overcome this problem, researchers developed an innovation in the form of ZUZO learning e-media that integrates local culture by utilizing traditional Palembang cake as a learning illustration medium. This study aims to determine the level of validity of ZUZO learning e-media based on traditional Palembang cake. The research subjects were 20 respondents from grade VII junior high school students at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang. The e-media development process refers to the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) Development and Research model, but this study was limited to the product development stage. In the analysis stage, researchers conducted direct observations in the field to identify difficulties experienced by students and found that the learning media used was not yet effective. Based on these findings, researchers designed an initial design of learning media that was relevant to students' needs. During the development phase, the ZUZO e-learning media design, based on traditional Palembang cake, was realized using interactive technology. This product was then validated by experts. The validation results showed that the ZUZO e-learning media met the "very valid" criteria. It is suitable for use as a teaching aid for integer arithmetic operations in junior high schools due to its content, appearance, and presentation.
