Abstract

The intention of the present study was to see the improvement of students’ intuitive skills. This improvement was seen by comparing the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)-based instruction with the conventional mathematics instruction. The subject of this study was 164 fifth graders of elementary school in Palembang. The design of this study was a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Experiment. Data was analyzed with the help of SPSS. The result of this study showed that there was different improvement of students’ skills. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berbentuk cerita pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif (descriptive research). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri Kecamatan Seberang Ulu I Kota Palembang pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 25% dari seluruh SMP Negeri kecamatan Seberang Ulu I di Kota Palembang yang dipilih dengan teknik non probability sampling dengan jenis purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan memberikan tes. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini adalah tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, analisis data, penyusunan laporan penelitian. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri kota Palembang dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan siswa kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berbentuk cerita pada pokok bahasan sistem persamaan linear dua variabel mencapai 67%. Hal itu berarti kemampuan siswa dapat dikategorikan baik.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: “untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah hasil belajar matematika siswa lebih baik dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran the power of two pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018”. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Sampelnya dipilih dengan teknik random sampling dimana sampel diambil secara acak. Sampel yang diambil adalah dua sekolah yaitu SMP Nahdatul Ulama dan SMP Azahryah. Dari data yang telah terkumpul diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa dengan standar deviasi hasil belajar siswa menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe the power of two di kelas IX yaitu nilai rata-rata dimana nilai rata-rata siswa lebih besar dari nilai KKM yang telah ditentukan yaitu 65, dan nilai standar deviasi. Dimana pada penerapan strategi the power of two dapat meminimalkan sifat pasif siswa, lebih percaya diri akan kemampuannya, menghargai pendapat orang lain, berani akan bertanya dan menjawab, bekerjasama dengan baik. Adapun pengaruh positif pada nilai siswa yang didapat. Berdasarkan perhitungan analisis data hasil perhitungan menggunakan uji pihak kanan didapatkan di mana hasil yang berarti ditolak diterima yang menyatakan bahwa “adakah pengaruh yang berarti dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran the power of two terhadap hasil belajarmatematika pada nilai rata-rata siswa kelas IX pada tahun ajaran 2017/2018” dan diterima kebenarannya.

Abstract

Plastic waste becomes one of the sources of environmental pollution problems. Landfill in the final landfill in Palembang, will be a serious problem if it is not sought solution. This community service is in the form of counseling and processing training of plastic waste into paving block given to the partners of the community in the location where the garbage disposal. The provision of counseling and training is expected to be the process of utilizing science and technology in the utilization of plastic waste so it is economically beneficial for the community because it has a high selling value. The implementation phase of this activity in the form of 1) establishment of partnership by determining the community, 2) fulfillment of production equipment, 3) counseling on the innovation of entrepreneurship and marketing of products, 4) training of paving block making. The result of this activity is that partners can make paving blocks from plastic waste and have entrepreneurial innovation and product marketing

Abstract

Distance learning activities are the only encouragement for elementary school teachers to make interesting strategies in the learning process, the use of learning media is one of the teachers in order to be able to create interesting activities and so that students are expected to be able to follow the learning process carefully without complaints, because good learning using learning media. The purpose of this activity is a form of community service in the form of assisting learning media using the Canva application. The method of activity carried out is service learning with the subject of the activity, namely inviting all elementary school teachers in Makati Jaya, to take advantage of the Canva application. The Canva application is a platform that can be accessed by anyone using a smartphone or using a computer browser. This assistance provides an overview for teachers to take advantage of free applications that can be used to create interesting and not monotonous learning media by utilizing these applications.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan  IPA guru SD di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif.  Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan test. Test diberikan kepada guru SD menggunakan Google Form dengan pengaturan waktu, untuk mengetahui kemampuan guru menyelesaikan soal Ujian Akhir SD dengan menggunakan soal-soal test Ujian Akhir SD tahun 2019 yang telah baku. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik desriptif untuk memberikan gambaran umum mengenai penyebaran distribusi data.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kemampuan IPA Guru SD di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan rata-rata berada pada kategori cukup.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan  bahan ajar LKPD pendekatan PMRI menggunakan masalah open ended materi pecahan senilai di kelas IV SD  yang valid, praktis, dan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar yang ditinjau dari hasil tes akhir belajar peserta didik. LKPD ini dikembangkan dengan menggunakan konteks kuliner tradisional Sumsel yang merupakan kearifan local. Konteks kuliner yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Pempek Lenjer, Pempek Lenggang dan Wajik Ketan yang merupakan makanan keseharian masyarakat Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri dari tahap Preliminary yang diadopsi dari Akker dan Formative Evaluation menggunakan alur Tessmer. Peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Makarti Jaya sebanyak 20 orang adalah subjek dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan walkthrough, dokumentasi  dan tes. Analisis data pada penelitian ini adalah analisis produk LKPD yang diperoleh dari hasil  walkthrough, dokumentasi dan tes. Hasil analisis data diperoleh LKPD yang valid dan praktis. Valid dapat dilihat dari hasil penilaian validator, yaitu validator konstruks, validator isi/content, dan validator bahasa. Selaras dengan keterbacaan LKPD oleh peserta didik di tahap one-to-one. Kepraktisan terlihat dari hasil komentar dan respon peserta didik pada tahap small group bahwa peserta didik senang menggunakan LKPD yang dikembangkan. Hasil analisis data tes yang telah dilakukan pada tahap field test diperoleh rata-rata nilai akhir peserta didik yaitu 85,04 yang menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori baik sekali, maka disimpulkan bahwa LKPD yang telah dikembangkan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik.This study aims to develop LKPD teaching materials using the PMRI approach using open ended problems of equivalent fraction material in grade IV SD which are valid, practical, and have a potential effect on learning outcomes in terms of the results of students' final learning tests. This LKPD was developed using the traditional culinary context of South Sumatra which is local wisdom. The culinary contexts used in this study are Pempek Lenjer, Pempek Lenggang and Wajik Ketan which are the daily food of the people of South Sumatra. This study uses a development research method which consists of the Preliminary stage adopted from Akker and Formative Evaluation using the Tessmer flow. There were 20 students in grade IV at SD Negeri 4 Makarti Jaya as the subjects in this study. Data collection techniques using walkthroughs, documentation and tests. Data analysis in this study is an analysis of LKPD products obtained from the results of walkthroughs, documentation and tests. The results of data analysis obtained LKPD are valid and practical. Valid can be seen from the results of the validator's assessment, namely the construct validator, content validator, and language validator. In line with the readability of LKPD by students in the one-to-one stage. The practicality can be seen from the results of the comments and responses of students at the small group stage that students enjoy using the developed LKPD. The results of the analysis of test data that has been carried out at the field test stage obtained an average final score of students, namely 85.04 which indicates that student learning outcomes are included in the very good category, so it is concluded that the LKPD that has been developed has a potential effect on participant learning outcomes educate.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes and student responses to teaching and learning activities is one of the problems in learning that must be addressed immediately. This article aims to look at improving learning outcomes in mathematics which is taught with Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the PMRI approach using the traditional culinary context of South Sumatra. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects were 28 grade IV students at an elementary school in Palembang. The research flow uses the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart plots, with the stages in this study namely planning, action, observation, and reflection which are carried out in two cycles. Data collection was in the form of tests to measure learning outcomes and attitude questionnaires used to determine student responses. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. From the results of data analysis, it was obtained that the average student learning outcomes in cycle I was 70.82 with a percentage of student completeness of 57.14%, the average student learning outcomes in cycle II rose to 75.63 with a percentage of student completeness of 86.86%. While the results of the questionnaire showed that the activeness and enthusiasm of students increased. The conclusion is that learning mathematics taught with PMRI-based LKPD with the traditional culinary context of Palembang City can increase student interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Connected type teaching materials are part of thematic learning which can be used as an alternative in facilitating mathematics learning. The material chosen is math material in grade II elementary school including multiplication, division, and simple plane shapes. The theme used in this study is the Great Mosque of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I Palembang which is well known to students. This research is a development research using the stages of development of Tessmer and Akker. The two major stages of this development research are: (1) Introduction, and (2) Formative Evaluation. Data collection with walkthroughs, documentation and tests. Data analysis was in the form of product analysis of teaching materials by looking at the results of tracing and documentation of the one to one stage, expert reviews and small groups, and analysis of test data obtained from the field test stage. Based on the results of product analysis, valid and practical teaching materials were obtained. Validity can be seen from the results of the assessment of content/content experts (according to the thematic approach of the connected type), construct experts (according to the characteristics of teaching materials), and language experts (according to PEUBI). Practically seen from the results of students' assessments in small group trials where students stated that the teaching materials provided were easy to understand. The potential effect is seen from the evaluation test results. The teaching materials compiled were declared valid after going through the one to one stage, expert review which had been revised according to expert advice. Practically illustrated from the results of small groups that have gone through the revision stage. The potential effect of this study is 86.1 and is included in the very good category.
