Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of technology and partnership-based business incubator models in Indonesia is the subject of this study, which focuses on the importance of relationships with industry, the availability of funds, and the availability of human resources. Using a quantitative approach, with a random sampling technique of 300 samples representing start-ups and business incubators in various industries and regions in Indonesia, the study was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) 4. The findings show a strong correlation between human resource availability and technological advancement, industry ties and partnership-based business models, and startup growth and financing availability. These results highlight how innovation and entrepreneurial success in the Indonesian ecosystem can be encouraged by investing in human capital, fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders, and building a climate that supports startup financing.

Abstract

The English language teaching at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Falah aims to improve the students' communication skills in English through an approach that is more adaptive to the organizational culture. This pesantren has a habit of using Arabic in daily life, so in the teaching of English, Arabic terms such as “huwa,” “huma,” and “huna” are used in teaching pronouns. The method applied involves interactive teaching, adapted to the students’ habits, where each session begins with an explanation of English concepts, which are then linked to Arabic terms that the students are already familiar with. This activity took place over four meetings per month, with morning and afternoon sessions. The results of the teaching activity showed an improvement in the students' understanding of basic English concepts, especially in teaching pronouns, which were easier to understand when linked to Arabic. The discussion in this activity revealed that adapting the language of instruction to the local culture, in this case, Arabic, can create a more comfortable atmosphere and support the students' enthusiasm for learning. Students, who initially felt less confident in speaking English, became more active and open to practicing. In conclusion, English teaching that is adapted to the organizational culture, especially through the use of Arabic in teaching, has proven effective in improving students' understanding and communication skills in English, as well as creating a learning environment that is more enjoyable and relevant to their needs

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis elemen-elemen semiotika pada cover novel The Principles of Power dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes. Metode yang digunakan meliputi analisis tanda makna denotatif dan konotatif yang terdapat pada elemen visual cover novel tersebut. Data yang dikumpulkan mencakup berbagai macam elemen visual seperti gambar, tipografi, dan warna. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keterkaitan warna dan gambar pada cover mencerminkan tema utama novel, yaitu jalan cerita. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa sebuah cover novel bukan hanya sebagai daya tarik visual, tetapi juga sebagai representasi simbolis dari isi dan tema sebuah novel, yang dapat memberikan pemahaman pembaca tentang karya tersebut. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam studi semiotika dan analisis visual dalam literatur.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Minimnya kajian tentang pola komunikasi vertikal dalam pengelolaan media sosial institusi publik menunjukkan adanya celah penelitian dalam memahami dinamika komunikasi internal tim Public Relations di era digital. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pola komunikasi vertikal—baik upward communication maupun downward communication—dalam pengelolaan akun Instagram @keretaapikita oleh Unit Corporate Image Care PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan paradigma konstruktivis. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan asisten manajer dan staf pelaksana unit terkait, serta dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis tematik. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa downward communication berlangsung secara terstruktur melalui taklimat formal dan SOP yang jelas, sementara upward communication memberikan ruang partisipatif bagi staf untuk menyampaikan ide dan masukan, baik melalui rapat maupun komunikasi informal. Pola komunikasi dua arah ini berjalan dinamis dan adaptif, menyesuaikan kebutuhan organisasi serta karakter media sosial sebagai ruang komunikasi strategis. Pola komunikasi ini menggambarkan adanya interaksi dua arah yang terorganisasi, dengan dinamika yang menyesuaikan kebutuhan dan situasi tertentu. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mengenai pentingnya struktur komunikasi vertikal dalam mendukung pengelolaan media sosial PT Kereta Api Indonesia.

Abstract

 Playlist Live Festival 2024 mengalami krisis pada hari kedua ketika cuaca buruk, termasuk hujan deras dan angin kencang, menyebabkan penundaan acara serta kerusakan pada panggung. Peristiwa ini, yang dapat dikategorikan sebagai Krisis Tak Terduga menurut Teori Komunikasi Krisis Situasional (SCCT), disebabkan oleh faktor eksternal yang berada di luar kendali langsung penyelenggara. Akibatnya, penyelenggara menghadapi tanggung jawab moderat dalam mengelola krisis. Mereka diharapkan untuk mengurangi dampak krisis terhadap pengunjung dan memberikan solusi untuk memulihkan pengalaman festival. Sebagai respons terhadap krisis, penyelenggara mengadopsi Strategi Pengurangan (Diminish Strategy), yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi persepsi beratnya kejadian tersebut. Mereka memberikan akses gratis kepada pemegang tiket untuk acara pengganti yang dijadwalkan pada 1 Juni 2024, yang akan menampilkan penampilan spesial dari Salma Salsabila, Roni Parulian, Nabila Taqiyah, Nyoman Paul, dan Dipha Barus. Untuk menjaga pengunjung tetap terinformasi, penyelenggara festival secara proaktif berkomunikasi melalui berbagai saluran, termasuk media sosial, email, dan situs web resmi festival. Mereka memberikan detail tentang cara klaim tiket untuk acara pengganti dan memastikan saluran komunikasi tambahan tersedia untuk mengatasi kekhawatiran atau permintaan. Hasil dari strategi ini menunjukkan komitmen penyelenggara untuk meningkatkan pengalaman pengunjung dan mengurangi dampak reputasi dari krisis tersebut. Komunikasi yang transparan dan responsif memainkan peran penting dalam membantu mengurangi persepsi negatif publik, karena ini memungkinkan penyelenggara untuk mengambil tanggung jawab atas situasi tersebut sambil menawarkan solusi yang memadai. Crisis Communication Management in the Playlist Live Festival 2024 Music Concert Event ABSTRACTThe Playlist Live Festival 2024 encountered a crisis on its second day when severe weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds, led to event delays and significant damage to the stage. This event, which can be classified as an Accidental Crisis according to Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT), was caused by external factors beyond the direct control of the organizers. As a result, the organizers faced a moderate level of responsibility in managing the crisis. They were expected to mitigate the effects of the crisis on attendees and provide solutions to restore the festival's experience. In response to the crisis, the organizers adopted a Diminish Strategy, aimed at reducing the perceived severity of the event. They offered free access to ticket holders for a rescheduled event on June 1, 2024, which would feature special performances from Salma Salsabila, Roni Parulian, Nabila Taqiyah, Nyoman Paul, and Dipha Barus. To keep attendees informed, the festival’s organizers proactively communicated through multiple channels, including social media, email, and the festival’s official website. They provided details on how to claim tickets for the rescheduled event and made sure additional communication channels were available to address any concerns or requests. The outcome of this strategy showed the organizers' commitment to improving the visitor experience and mitigating the reputational impact of the crisis. Transparent and responsive communication played a crucial role in helping to reduce negative public perceptions, as it allowed the organizers to take ownership of the situation while offering an adequate solution.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have brought significant changes in the way local brands build their brand image and positioning in the market. Social media is one of the main platforms used in marketing communication strategies because of its ability to reach a wide and interactive audience. This research aims to analyze the marketing communication strategy implemented by Daclen, a local fashion brand from Bandung, in shaping sales positioning through the Instagram account @Daclen.id and its official website. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis was carried out using the Circular Method of SOME (Share, Optimize, Manage, Engage) approach which emphasizes the connection between content sharing, message optimization, communication channel management, and active engagement with consumers. The results show that Daclen has succeeded in developing a simple, yet consistent and targeted digital communication strategy. Instagram is used as the primary medium to strengthen the visual power of brands, through uploading high-quality product photos, promotional videos, and active interaction with audiences. Meanwhile, Daclen's official website functions as a credibility center that provides complete information about products, prices, and after-sales service. The combination of the two creates a well-rounded consumer experience and supports an exclusive perception of the brand. Each stage in the SOME model is executed optimally. The Share stage includes the distribution of creative content with a consistent upload schedule. Optimize is done by adjusting messages according to trends and audience responses. Manage focuses on account management and interaction monitoring, while Engage focuses on building emotional connections through quick responses and interactive content. The implications of this study show that the SOME-model-based digital communication approach can help local brands such as Daclen strengthen their positioning, build an exclusive image, and create long-term relationships with consumers amid increasingly fierce competition in the digital fashion industry.

Abstract

In the 4.0 era, technological advances offer significant opportunities, especially for entrepreneurs who develop their businesses through online platforms such as the Shopee e-commerce marketplace. This study examines the use of Shopee as a marketing communication medium by the Tabriizhijab store. Using a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, this study is able to describe the digital marketing strategy implemented by the Tabriizhijab store owner through the use of various Shopee features such as store vouchers, free shipping, Shopee Live, Shopee Feed, and paid advertising. The findings of this study indicate that Shopee has a significant impact on improving store sales performance. However, it turns out that several challenges still exist, such as a limited understanding of Shopee features that can cause owners to be left behind by Shopee marketing trends, intense price competition between other sellers who offer lower prices for their products, a lack of specialized personnel to handle digital marketing that leads to less than optimal store management, and difficulties in committing to providing responsive service to consumers. Despite facing these challenges, through effective communication strategies, appropriate and optimal use of social media, and improving service quality, Tabriizhijab has been able to build a positive brand image and increase consumer purchasing interest. This study highlights the importance of an appropriate digital marketing communication strategy amidst increasingly fierce market competition. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of managing and utilizing consumer data obtained through platforms like Shopee to formulate more effective and targeted marketing strategies. By utilizing available analytics features, Toko Tabriizhijab can better understand consumer behavior, product preferences, and evolving market trends. This allows the store to adjust its marketing strategy, offer more relevant promotions, and improve the overall customer experience.

Abstract

Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung is a recurring competition organized by the Paguyuban Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung. Its primary purpose is to select young individuals who can best represent the youth of Bandung Regency. This event also serves as a medium to preserve and embody the organization’s core values, represented by the tagline; Sahate Ngarante Rancage which means One heart, Solidarity, Reliable. These values serve as a guidance for members and candidate roles and responsibilities of Mojang and Jajaka within both organizational and societal context. This study employs a qualitative approach, through observation, interviews, and literature review. Data were analyzed using data triangulation method to enhance the credibility and reliability findings. Interview participants included key stakeholders involved in the Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung 2023, such as judges from the Culture Office and Bandung Regency, the Chairperson of the Paguyuban Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung, committee members of Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung, and participants of the Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka Kabupaten Bandung 2023. Observation data were gathered from social media published information and official event report. Literature review data comes from past research about similar topics. This study highlights the need to ensure the cultural values are truly practiced in youth organization. The findings indicate that the tagline Sahate, Ngarante, Rancage is effective support improvements in training and assessment to strengthen Mojang and Jajaka role as regional tourism ambassador. However, observation indicates a room for improvement in terms of practical execution of the values. A deeper understanding and practical implementation among all members needed to ensure the alignment between values and practice within the organization.

Abstract

This study explores communication barriers at PT. Mantra Garmindo Sakti and their impact on achieving company targets. The focus is on vertical communication (between management and staff) and horizontal communication (between departments). These barriers are found to disrupt coordination, delay decision making, and reduce operational efficiency. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 participants including managers, outlet heads, technicians, and central staff and participatory observation. Thematic analysis revealed that unclear instructions, limited feedback, and fear of upward communication cause delays and task execution errors. Meanwhile, poor coordination between marketing and production teams leads to mismatches between customer demand and product availability. Participant insights highlight late and ambiguous instructions, and the lack of regular meetings across departments. To address these issues, the study recommends clearer communication tools, routine coordination meetings, and the use of Rensis Likert’s Linking Pin theory to strengthen information flow between levels. This research contributes to organizational communication studies by showing how specific internal communication failures affect target achievement in medium-sized service companies

Abstract

Penyandang disabilitas sering menghadapi keterbatasan dalam mengakses ruang publik, termasuk dalam kegiatan hiburan seperti konser musik. Aksesibilitas yang kurang memadai dapat menghambat partisipasi mereka secara setara dan nyaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penyelenggaraan konser musik memperhatikan aksesibilitas bagi penyandang disabilitas, dengan studi kasus pada Soora Music Festival 2024 di Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung selama pelaksanaan festival pada 8–9 Juni 2024 di Tritan Point Gedebage, Bandung. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori manajemen event dan interaksi simbolik untuk mengkaji proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, serta makna sosial yang terbentuk dalam interaksi di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyelenggara festival menyediakan sejumlah fasilitas yang mendukung aksesibilitas penyandang disabilitas, seperti jalur khusus, tempat duduk strategis, serta venue maps yang informatif. Penempatan fasilitas disabilitas yang strategis juga memberi kenyamanan dan visibilitas yang setara bagi seluruh penonton. Kesimpulannya, penerapan prinsip inklusivitas dalam manajemen event terbukti mampu menciptakan pengalaman konser yang lebih adil dan setara. Penyelenggaraan acara seperti Soora Music Festival dapat menjadi contoh praktik baik dalam membangun ruang hiburan yang inklusif bagi semua kalangan, termasuk penyandang disabilitas.
