Abstract

This study was conducted to address the issue of students' low comprehension of mathematical concepts. Learning videos were explored as a potential instructional medium to improve this comprehension. The purpose of the research was to examine the effectiveness of learning videos on the comprehension of mathematical concepts among grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo. A quantitative research method was employed using a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group. The sample consisted of 66 students from classes XI F.5A and XI F.5B, selected through a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected through a test assessing students' comprehension of mathematical concepts. Prerequisite tests, including normality and homogeneity tests, were conducted prior to hypothesis testing, which was carried out using the t-test. The results indicated that learning videos effectively improved students' comprehension of mathematical concepts. This conclusion was supported by the t-test results, where tcount (2.1085) exceeded ttable (1.669), leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of H1​. Furthermore, the experimental group showed a significant increase in average scores after the intervention with learning videos, with the pretest average of 76.24 rising to a posttest average of 87.91. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that learning videos are an effective instructional medium for enhancing the comprehension of mathematical concepts among grade XI students at SMA Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the cognition of mathematics teachers through the lesson study model focusing on metacognitive skills and digital competence. The background of this research is based on the urgency of improving learning evaluation. Although many studies have been conducted, however these studies have yet to specifically explore teachers' cognition before, during, and after the lesson. Therefore, this research focuses on the three stages of lesson study: plan, do, and see. This research method uses a qualitative approach to reveal the cognition of mathematics teachers. The study involves two subjects: a male model teacher and a female model teacher with ten observers. Data were collected using initial diagnostic tests, observations, and reflections with the students. The research results show that teachers have a good understanding in learning objectives, teaching strategies that align with student characteristics, and digital skills. The data for this research was collected using a four-step metacognitive skills method, namely: prediction, planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The objectives of this research are: 1) The formation of cognitive classifications of teachers in three stages: a) Plan, where teachers conduct initial analysis, understand student characteristics, and prepare lesson plans; b) Do, where teachers implement the prepared lesson plans using predetermined methods and strategies according to the material and student characteristics, and actively interact with students to collect learning data; and c) See, where teachers evaluate student learning outcomes, reflect on the learning process, identify successes and shortcomings in teaching, and improve teaching practices based on the reflection of the obtained data. 2) Lesson study has a positive impact by supporting the availability of data for researchers in the data collection process, as well as enhancing teachers' digital competence. Penelitian ini bertujuan menggali pemahaman kognitif guru matematika melalui model Lesson Study dengan fokus pada keterampilan metakognitif dan kompetensi digital. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada urgensi evaluasi pembelajaran untuk perbaikan di pembelajaran berikutnya. Meskipun banyak penelitian telah dilakukan, belum ada yang secara khusus mengeksplorasi pemikiran guru sebelum, selama, dan setelah pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini berfokus pada tiga tahap Lesson Study: Plan, Do, dan See. Metode penelitian melibatkan dua subjek: seorang guru model laki-laki dan seorang guru model perempuan dengan sepuluh observer. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes diagnostik awal, observasi, dan refleksi bersama peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru-guru memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang tujuan pembelajaran, strategi pengajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik, dan keterampilan digital. Data penelitian ini menggunakan metode empat langkah keterampilan metakognitif yaitu: prediksi, perencanaan, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Terbentuknya klasifikasi kognitif pengajar di tiga zona waktu: a) Plan, di mana pengajar melakukan analisis awal, memahami karakteristik siswa, dan mempersiapkan rencana pembelajaran; b) Do, pengajar melaksanakan rencana pembelajaran yang telah disusun, menggunakan metode dan strategi yang sudah ditentukan sesuai dengan materi dan karakteristik siswa, dan pengajar aktif berinteraksi dengan siswa dalam mengumpulkan data pembelajaran; dan c) See, pengajar mengevaluasi hasil belajar siswa dan merenungi proses pembelajaran, mengidentifikasi keberhasilan dan kekurangan dalam mengajar, dan memperbaiki praktik mengajar berdasarkan refleksi data yang diperoleh. 2) Lesson Study memberikan dampak positif yaitu mendukung ketersediaan data bagi peneliti dalam proses terkumpulnya data riset, serta meningkatkan kompetensi digital pengajar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of Swishmax software through the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach has an effect on students' interest in learning mathematics. This study uses an experimental method in a quantitative approach. The population in this study was grade XI students, with samples selected using the random sampling method. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques include calculating the average score, standard deviation, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The analysis prerequisite test was carried out through the Liliefors normality test, then continued with the F homogeneity test. For hypothesis analysis, the t-test (Independent t-Test) was used through a significance level of 5%. The results of the study show that if the t-count value is 2.62019, the t-table value at a significance level of 5% at df = 62 is 1.6698. From these data, t_count> t_table was obtained so that it can be concluded that there is an impact of using Swishmax Software through the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach on students' interest in learning Mathematics.

Abstract

Media innovation in math learning is essential to improving student understanding. This study aims to assess the improvement in students' math learning outcomes using multiplication card media. This research follows a classroom action research design consisting of three cycles. The research subjects were 13 fifth-grade students from SD Negeri Wironanggan 02. Three types of questions were used to measure student learning outcomes. The results indicated an improvement in student learning outcomes. In Cycle I, the average learning outcome was 58.462, increasing to 76.538 in Cycle II and 93.077 in Cycle III. The gain score between Cycle I and Cycle II was 0.435 (43.5%), which further increased to 0.705 (70.5%) between Cycle II and Cycle III. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of multiplication card media in learning enhances the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Wironanggan 02.

Abstract

Industri Rumah Tangga Usaha Mikro (IRT-UM) menjadi salah satu solusi peningkatan kesejahteraan Masyarakat. Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat yaitu sebagai sarana memberikan Penyuluhan Legalitas Usaha Bagi UMKM di Sukoharjo. Metode pelaksanaan program ini terdiri atas lima tahap. Pertama tahap Sosialisasi, meliputi paparan secara umum mengenai gambaran program. Tahap kedua, yaitu Penyuluhan (pemaparan materi dan diskusi khusus mengenai pentingnya memiliki usaha dan pengurusan perizinan berusaha). Tahap ketiga yaitu pelatihan inovasi produk, dimana IRT_UM binaan mendapatkan pelatihan secara langsung mengenai tata cara praktik pembuatan kripik jamur dan keripi tempe alakatak. Tahap keempat meliputi pelatihan sanitasi guna memberikan pemahaman menyeluruh terkait saluran higienis dslm proses produksi. Tahap kelima yaitu pendampingan usaha yang terdiri atas pembukuan, managerial, dan legalitas usaha basis makanan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini Pelaku usaha mengetahui dan memahami urgensi memiliki legalitas berusaha berupa NIB (Nomor Induk Berusaha) dan SPP-IRT. Serta pelaku usaha mampu untuk meningkatkan penjualan dengan pemanfaatan media soaial terkini. Selain itu, tim univet mampu menjembatani pelaku usaha tersebut sehingga persoalan izin telah tuntas dan pelaku usaha sudah tidak lagi bergantung dengan tengkulak yang sudah punya nama untuk memperjualbelikan produknya

Abstract

Overall, this study aims to assess college students' field-dependent metacognitive skills in mathematics problem-solving. We administered the Group Embedded Figures and Mathematical Ability Tests to 35 future educators from a private school in Sukoharjo, Indonesia. Students' questioning of each group served to gauge their proficiency in solving problems, as shown in the results. Participants also demonstrated partially achieved metacognitive abilities, as measured by the (metacognitive) skills criterion, which encompassed tasks such as planning, monitoring, assessing, and predicting. First, the participants documented and explained the facts given in the question. Second, they checked the results against the plan. Third, they evaluated the success of the objectives by analyzing the results to make sure everything went according to plan. Finally, they predicted and stated the results of the problem-solving process. In light of these findings, researchers and teachers facing comparable obstacles would do well to delve deeper into the function of metacognitive abilities in problem-solving.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaranCooperatif Integrated Reading And Compositionterhadap prestasi belajar matematika padasiswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Grogol Kabupaten Sukoharjo Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015.Metodepengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan dokumentasi.Alat untuk metodedokumentasi adalah nilai ulangan tengah semester siswa kelas sampel sebagai nilaikemampuan awal sampel.Sedangkan metode tes alatnya adalah nilai prestasi belajar setelahperlakuan.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 3 Grogol Kabupaten Sukoharjo.Populasidalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Grogol Kabupaten Sukoharjoyang terdiri dari 7 kelas dengan banyak 215 siswa.Dari populasi tersebut diambil 2 kelassebagai sampel.Yaitu kelas VII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah 31 siswa dan kelasVII A sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah 28 siswa. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel yangdigunakan adalah cluster random sampling.Analisis  data menggunakan uji t, diperoleh t= 2,46091 dan ttabel = 2,0025  taraf signifikan α = 0,05. Karena thitung> t yaitu 2,46091>2,0025 maka H0tabel ditolak. Simpulannya adalah “Model pembelajaran Cooperatif IntegratedReading And Composition berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIISMP Negeri 3 Grogol Kabupaten Sukoharjo Tahun Ajaran 2014/ 2015.”.Kata kunci: prestasi belajar, model Cooperatif Integrated Reading And Composition,matematika. hitung

Abstract

This study explores ethnomathematical elements in the architecture of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Surakarta as a representation of mathematics in Islamic culture. The method used is qualitative with an ethnographic approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the mosque's architecture contains mathematical concepts, such as geometry in the form of cubes, hemispheres, and triangular pyramids, symmetry in wall and floor ornaments, and translation in decorative motifs. These findings indicate that the mosque is not only aesthetically and religiously valuable but also contains mathematical concepts that can be a source of learning. This study concludes that the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque can be an interesting medium for ethnomathematics learning, connecting mathematics with Islamic culture, and enriching ethnomathematics studies in Indonesia.
