This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership displayed by the main characterin the animated film Jumbo produced by Visinema. The research employed a descriptive qualitativemethod with a narrative approach through film observation, dialogue documentation, and literaturereview. The findings reveal that Don, the protagonist, demonstrates four dimensions oftransformational leadership: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. These values are shaped by family experiences, conflicts withfriends, and cultural symbols such as a song inherited from his parents. Abstract

Women’s leadership in literature and film remains a crucial issue, as it is often overshadowed bymale dominance, despite the fact that female representation on screen can serve as an importantmedium to affirm equality and foster discussions on women’s courage in facing gender- and racebaseddiscrimination. This study aims to analyze the character of Katherine Johnson in the filmHidden Figures as a representation of Black women’s leadership that succeeds in transcending socialand professional barriers. The research employs a descriptive method with a feminist literarycriticism approach, situating Katherine within the framework of third-wave feminism, whichemphasizes resilience, courage, and women’s struggles in the public sphere. The findings revealthree main aspects of Katherine’s leadership: her accuracy in calculating NASA’s rocket trajectories, her efforts to gain recognition in strategic meeting rooms previously closed to Black women, andher persistence in resisting racial and gender discrimination. These findings highlight that Hidden Figures portrays transformational leadership that emphasizes equality, inspiration, and socialchange, while also serving as an inspiration for contemporary discussions of women’s leadershipand showing relevance to gender equality issues within the framework of the SDGs. Future researchmay broaden the scope by comparing women’s leadership representations in other films or culturalcontexts; however, this study remains limited by its focus on a single character, which does not fullycapture the complexity of women’s.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of transformational leadership style embodied by thecharacter Ucup in the film Mencuri Raden Saleh. In the digital age, films as popular media productsnot only serve as entertainment but also become an effective means of conveying social andleadership values to the younger generation through technological platforms such as streamingservices and social media. However, even though technology has expanded access to and the reachof film content, there is still a lack of in-depth academic studies highlighting how transformationalleadership is represented in Indonesian local films. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approachby analyzing several key scenes to identify four dimensions of transformational leadership: idealinfluence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration. Thefindings show that Ucup exhibits charismatic leadership, motivating his team through a sharedvision, stimulating creativity in problem-solving under pressure, and recognizing the uniquepotential of each member. This representation suggests that transformational leadership is notlimited to formal organizations but can also grow in informal groups, and through digital media, these values can reach a wider audience and become a source of leadership inspiration in thecontemporary social context.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of financial technology has led to the emergence of open banking systems, which grant standardized access to consumers’ financial data for third parties. This transformation presents significant opportunities for innovation while also raising serious challenges to personal data protection. This study aims to analyze the regulatory frameworks of open banking and personal data protection in Indonesia, Japan, and the European Union using a normative juridical method and comparative legal approach. The analysis examines policy structures, legal instruments, and supervisory mechanisms within each jurisdiction. The findings reveal that the European Union provides the most comprehensive legal framework through the integration of PSD2 and GDPR, ensuring a balance between financial innovation and privacy protection. Japan adopts a regulatory model emphasizing technical security and third-party licensing but still faces challenges in harmonizing with international standards. Indonesia remains in an early stage, with fragmented regulations between the banking and personal data protection sectors, necessitating regulatory synchronization to ensure legal certainty and consumer protection. This article recommends cross-sector harmonization and stronger regulatory oversight to build a secure and inclusive open banking ecosystem.
