Abstract

Abstract: Dengue fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Based on a preliminary survey conducted at the Air Salobar Ambon Health Center in 2022, the number of patients with Dengue Fever (DHF) for the last three years showed a significant increase. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever. The research design used in this study was cross sectional. The research was conducted in December 2023 at the Air Salobar Health Center.  The population is the head of the household in the working area of the Air Salobar Health Center, namely the head of the household. The sample amounted to 62 people selected using simple random sampling. The research instrument used a research questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. The results showed there was a relationship between knowledge (p value: 0.035) and breeding place (p value: 0.030) with the incidence of DHF. It is recommended that the Puskesmas can make a policy related to the supervision of dengue prevention practices and for the community to pay more attention to 3M Plus activities and the implementation of PSN-DBD independently and regularly according to standards in order to reduce the presence of mosquito larvae.Keywords: Breeding Place, Dengue Fever, Knowledge.

Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) dari seorang perawat memegang peranan yang sangat penting mengingat kualitas pelayanan keperawatan yang diberikan merupakan salah satu faktor penentu baik buruknya citra sebuah Rumah Sakit. Perawat dengan OCB yang baik dapat menciptakan suasana kerja yang nyaman sehingga berpengaruh terhadap kinerja sehari-hari. Guna mencapai hal tersebut maka diperlukan etos kerja. Etos kerja yang tinggi pada diri seorang perawat dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan semangat sehingga kinerja yang dihasilkan juga akan baik, dan kinerja yang baik merupakan jembatan dalam menjawab jaminan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan yang diberikan terhadap pasien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganaliis pengaruh OCB terhadap kinerja melalui etos kerja perawat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, jenis penelitian analitik korelasional dengan rancangan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian seluruh perawat pelaksana dengan jumlah 95 orang. Uji analisis menggunakan teknik statistik inferensial dan model Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat pengaruh langsung OCB terhadap kinerja perawat pelaksana dengan p value 0,002 dan pengaruh tidak langsung antara OCB terhadap kinerja perawat pelaksana melalui etos kerja dengan p value 0,001. Dengan adanya OCB seorang perawat dapat menghasilkan kinerja yang baik melalui etos kerja yang tinggi sehingga kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan dapat memberikan kepuasan pada pasien.

Abstract

One of the primary goals of education is to foster students’ autonomy and self-regulation in learning while recognizing their active roles in the learning process. In English language teaching, self-regulated learning (SRL) has been widely implemented as a strategy to achieve these goals. Speaking, as a skill, requires learners to quickly access and apply linguistic knowledge, often leading to challenges such as fluency issues. Furthermore, non-linguistic factors, particularly a lack of confidence, contribute significantly to the difficulties students face in developing speaking skills. This study investigates the effectiveness of SRL in teaching speaking skills, particularly in relation to students' self-confidence levels, in Islamic-affiliated schools. A mixed-methods approach using concurrent embedded design was employed to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were analyzed statistically, while qualitative data were processed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings reveal that SRL strategies are particularly effective for students with higher levels of self-confidence, significantly improving their speaking abilities in the context of Islamic-affiliated schools. The study concludes that SRL can be a valuable approach in enhancing speaking skills, but its success is closely tied to students' confidence levels. These findings suggest that teachers should not only incorporate SRL strategies but also focus on building students’ self-confidence to maximize the effectiveness of speaking instruction in EFL contexts.

Abstract

Textbooks play a pivotal role in education, serving as primary learning resources and guiding both teaching and learning activities. Despite their importance, limited research has examined the cognitive levels of reading comprehension questions in EFL textbooks. This study aimed to analyze the level and distribution of thinking skills reflected in the reading questions of the tenth-grade Indonesian EFL textbook Bahasa Inggris. Utilizing content analysis, the study employed coding tables and checklists based on the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy, which classifies cognitive skills into six categories: Remember, Understand, Apply, Analyze, Evaluate, and Create. A total of 123 reading questions were analyzed. The results reveal a strong dominance of lower-order thinking skills (LOTS), particularly the Remember category, which accounted for over 60% of all questions. Understand and Apply followed with 15.45% and 13.00%, respectively. Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) were significantly underrepresented, with Analyze and Evaluate comprising only 1.63%, and no instances of Create were identified. Overall, LOTS constituted 96.74% of the questions, while HOTS made up just 3.24%. Abstract

Abstract: Pneumonia is one of the deadliest infectious diseases and the leading cause of death in children worldwide. Paal V Health Center is one of the health centers with the highest pneumonia cases in Jambi City. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of nutritional aspects and disease history to the incidence of pneumonia in toddlers. The research design used in this study was cross sectional. The study was conducted at the Paal V Health Center in January 2024. The population consisted of 87 toddlers (aged 0-59 months) who experienced severe pneumonia and mild pneumonia at Puskesmas Paal V. The sample size was 87 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately. The results showed a relationship between nutritional status (p value: 0.000) and history of ARI (p value: 0.003) to the level of pneumonia in toddlers. It is recommended that mothers of toddlers be more active and careful in seeking information about the right food and of course can meet the nutritional status of toddlers without waiting for counseling from health workers about good nutritional status. In addition, mothers are expected to pay attention to food intake for toddlers, so that the nutritional status of toddlers becomes good and can prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases in toddlers, especially pneumonia.Keywords: Toddlers, Nutrition, Medical History.

Abstract

This study investigates the incorporation of cultural information in English teaching materials utilised in high schools in Indonesia and the Philippines. This research utilises a qualitative content analysis methodology to assess two textbooks: Bahasa Inggris English for Change (Indonesia) and Oral Communication in Context for Senior High School (Philippines). The analysis employs Cortazzi and Jin’s cultural content categories (source, target, international culture) alongside Adaskou, Britten, and Fahsi's four dimensions of culture (aesthetic, sociological, semantic, pragmatic). The findings indicate a common focus on local (source) culture, substantial representation of English- speaking nations (target culture), and initiatives to incorporate worldwide viewpoints. Nevertheless, there are notable differences in the methodologies and thematic emphasis that reflect specific sociocultural situations. The study emphasises the significance of culturally responsive pedagogy and provides recommendations for curriculum developers to enhance intercultural competency in English language instruction.

Abstract

Kepemimpinan transformatif di SMAN 1 Sampanahan berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan keterlibatan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas kepemimpinan transformatif di sekolah tersebut. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan dan dianalisis berdasarkan pengalaman serta perspektif kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa. Hasil penelitian mengungkap bahwa kebijakan transformatif berdampak positif terhadap motivasi siswa, keterlibatan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, serta pencapaian akademik. Meskipun tantangan seperti ketahanan terhadap perubahan dan keterbatasan sumber daya masih dihadapi, hambatan tersebut dapat diatasi melalui strategi yang tepat. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi pengembangan kepemimpinan sekolah di Indonesia.

Abstract

Sleep Hygiene merupakan serangkaian kebiasaan yang mendukung kualitas tidur yang baik. Namun, banyak remaja mengalami gangguan tidur akibat praktik Sleep Hygiene yang buruk, seperti tidur larut malam, konsumsi kafein berlebih, tidak melakukan rutinitas kebersihan sebelum tidur. Faktor seperti adanya aktivitas fullday, serta keterlibatan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler turut memperburuk pola tidur. Gangguan tidur yang terjadi dapat berdampak negatif terhadap kesehatan fisik dan psikologis, seperti mudah mengantuk di siang hari, penurunan konsentrasi, serta gangguan emosi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis apakah ada Hubungan antara Sleep Hygiene dengan gangguan tidur pada Remaja Di SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Banjarmasin. Metode Penelitian memakai model analisa korelasi melalui pendekatan cross sectional dengan metodelogi kuantitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini sebanyak 76 orang dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling dengan hasil berjumlah 76 responden. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan data hasil pemeriksaan Sleep Hygiene dan gangguan tidur menggunakan uji chi square didapatkan hasil p value (0,000)<a(0,05) dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada Hubungan antara Sleep Hygiene dengan gangguan tidur pada Remaja Di SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Banjarmasin. Saran bagi teoritis penelitian ini bisa meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua beserta remaja agar kualitas tidur remaja menjadi lebih baik melalui penerapan Sleep Hygiene yang baik.
