Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of class-based assessments in Langke Rembong Secondary School viewed from the context, input, process, and product (CIPP) variables. This research includes quantitative evaluative analysis. The sample in this study was the principal: Deputy headmaster, teachers of Mathematics, and Natural Sciences courses. Data was collected using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analyzed by descriptive analysis. Determine the effects of implementing a class-based assessment, the raw score is transformed into a T-score then verified into the Glickman prototype. Results of the reviews that the performed of class-based assessments in SMP Negeri II Langke are relatively active seen from the variables of context, input, process, and input with the results in quadrant III (+ - + +). There is because the CIPP evaluation used refers to the assessment standard. The researcher suggested that in the future, the teacher of Langke Rembong Junior High School II should always improve their competencies and resources through training activities. Keywords: Class-Based Evaluation;  Implementation; Assessment Study Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pelaksanaan penilaian berbasis kelas di Sekolah Menengah Langke Rembong dilihat dari variabel konteks, input, proses, dan produk (CIPP). Penelitian ini termasuk analisis evaluatif kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah: Wakil kepala sekolah, guru Matematika, dan kursus Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif. Menentukan efek dari penerapan penilaian berbasis kelas, skor mentah diubah menjadi skor-T kemudian diverifikasi ke dalam prototipe Glickman. Hasil review yang dilakukan penilaian berbasis kelas di SMP Negeri II Langke relatif aktif dilihat dari variabel konteks, input, proses, dan input dengan hasil di kuadran III (+ - + +). Ada karena evaluasi CIPP yang digunakan mengacu pada standar penilaian. Peneliti menyarankan bahwa di masa depan, guru SMP II Langke Rembong harus selalu meningkatkan kompetensi dan sumber daya mereka melalui kegiatan pelatihan.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the mathematical connection abilities of students who take cooperative learning with the Open-Ended approach with students' mathematical connection skills who follow learning with conventional approaches. This research is a quasi-experimental study with the design of posttest only control group design. The population is all students of class X SMK Aloysius Ruteng with the number of students. Sampling is done using random sampling techniques, with the first class equivalence test. Data on students' mathematical connection abilities were collected using tests and interviews. Test in the form of a description question. Data were analyzed using t-test. The results of the analysis show that thitung = 4.645 and ttable = 1.999 at the level of significance and degrees of freedom dk = n1 + n1 - 2. Because tcount t table H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted which means that students' mathematical connection ability that follows cooperative learning with an open-ended approach is more better than students' mathematical connection skills that follow a conventional learning approach. In students who have a high initial ability to give treatment does not significantly affect the increase in the average value of students' mathematical connection abilities. In students who have the initial ability to be given treatment, it is quite significant in increasing the average value of mathematical connection abilities, while in students who have a low initial ability to give treatment does not affect the increase in the average value of mathematical connection abilities.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas 1) kesulitan belajar matematika seperti apa yang dialami siswa dalam pembelajaran yang menerapkan PMRI; 2) alasan mengapa siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar matematika dalam Pembelajaran Matematika menggunakan PMRI? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis kesulitan yang dialami oleh siswa, disertai dengan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan 23 siswa yang menunjukkan kesulitan dalam belajar matematika. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah jenis kesulitan belajar yang dialami siswa, yaitu kesulitan dalam memahami konsep sistem persamaan dua variabel dan tiga variabel, kesulitan menghitung angka dalam sistem persamaan linear untuk dua variabel dan tiga variabel, dan kesulitan memecahkan masalah dalam masalah cerita dalam materi SPLDV dan SPLTV.  AbstractThis research is aimed to discuss 1) what kind of mathematics learning difficulties students experience in PMRI learning; 2) the reasons why students are having difficulty learning mathematics in Mathematics Learning using PMRI? This study aims to describe the types of difficulties experienced by students, accompanied by factors causing mathematical difficulties. This study is a descriptive qualitative study with 23 students who indicated difficulties in learning mathematics. The technique used to collect data is observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis is done by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study are the types of learning difficulties experienced by students, namely difficulties in understanding the concepts of system of two-variable and three-variable linear equations, difficulties in calculating numbers in a system of linear equations for two variables and three variables, and the difficulty of solving problems in story problems in SPLDV and SPLTV material.

Abstract

AbstrakRendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Langke Rembong tahun ajaran 2018/2019 menjadi latar belakang masalah penelitian ini. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kontekstual terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa di sekolah ini. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu, dengan menggunakan desain Posttest Only Control Group Design.  Populasi yang dipilih  dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Langke Rembong  sebanyak 211 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling dan anggota sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes pemahaman konsep matematika yang berbentuk tes uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran kontekstual lebih baik dari pada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Model pembelajaran kontekstual dinilai dapat menghubungkan materi yang dipelajari dengan situasi kehidupan nyata. Contextual Learning Model’s Effect on Mathematical Concept Understanding of Middle School StudentsAbstractThe low ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students in grade VIII Langke Rembong 4 Public Middle School 2018/2019 school year fits the background of the problem of this research. The goal of this study was to discover the effect of contextual learning models on understanding the mathematical concepts of students in this school. This type of research is quasi-experimental research, using the design of the Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population chosen in this study were all eighth -grade students of Langke Rembong 4 SMP Negeri as many as 211 people. The sampling technique used random sampling and the sample members in this study were 60 people. Data was collected by using mathematical concept understanding test instruments in the form of description tests. The results of the study show that understanding the mathematical concepts of students who are taught by the contextual learning model is better than understanding the mathematical concepts of students who are taught with conventional learning models. The contextual learning model is assessed to be able to relate the material learned with real-life situations.

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan  kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas X SMK Santo Aloisius Ruteng tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT dibandingkan dengan yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian posttest only control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) SMK Santo Aloisius Ruteng yang tersebar dalam tiga kelas. Dua kelas dipilih secara acak untuk dijadikan sampel penelitian. Kelas X TKR B terpilih sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT sedangkan kelas X TKR C diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini berupa skor kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang dianalisis dengan uji t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung.Abstract (Effect Of Cooperative Learning Model Of Numbered Head Together Type On Mathematical Communication Ability)This study was aimed to determine the effect of cooperative learning model NHT type towards students’ mathematical communication skill of grade X SMK Santo Aloisius Ruteng in academic year 2017/2018. This study was experimental research with post-test only control group design. The population of this study was all the tenth-grade students majoring in Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR). X TKR B selected as an experimental class taught by applying cooperative learning type NHT while X TKR C taught by direct learning model. The data obtained was analyzed by t-test. Analysis data result obtained that students’ mathematical communication skill that using cooperative learning type NHT is higher than students’ mathematical communication skill that using direct learning model.

Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis adalah salah satu keterampilan proses yang harus dikembangkan dalam diri siswa SMP. Instrumen tes kemampuan koneksi matematis adalah salah satu bagian penting untuk mengukur kemampuan koneksi itu. Dengan demikian, tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini untuk memformulasikan atau mendeskripsikan prosedur pengembangan kisi-kisi (blueprint) dan tersusunnya instrumen untuk mengukur kemampuan koneksi matematis di SMP yang tervalidasi konten oleh para ahli.Populasi sumber data adalah guru-guru matematika SMP yang telah tergabung dalam MGMP dan buku matematika/bahan ajar yang digunakan guru SMP . Sampel adalah guru dan buku teks bahan ajar matematika. Sampel guru pada penelitian ini adalah para guru mata pelajaran matematika SMP Negeri 2 Langke Rembong dan sampel buku teks adalah buku-buku sumber matematika SMP yang digunakan guru-guru SMPN 2 Langke Rembong. Pengembangan instrumen kemampuan koneksi matematis dilakukan menurut prosedur pengembangan tes dan data kualitatif penimbang dianalisis dengan menggunakan formula Aiken’s V. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) prosedur pengembangan tes diformulasikan dalam 6 tahapan pengembangan, (2) kisi-kisi tes prestasi belajar terdiri atas 6 komponen yang tervalidasi secara memadai oleh para ahli yang ditunjukan oleh nilai dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Selain itu, respon guru terhadap pengembangan instrumen yang dibuat cukup bahwa prosedur dan kisi-kisi, serta rubrik penilaian yang telah dirancang dalam penelitian ini memudahkan dan mendorong guru melakukan pengembangan soal sesuai dengan keteranpilan proses matematika sekolah.

Abstract

STRENGTHENING TEACHER PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCIES THROUGH THE USE OF DYNAMIC GEOMETRY SOFTWARE IN MATHEMATICS LEARNING. The selection of strategies, methods, models, and media of appropriate mathematics learning is a form of implementation of a teacher's pedagogical competence. In the 2013 curriculum, the teacher not only sets a scientific approach as a reference in implementing the learning process but also demands innovation to accommodate the right media as well. The role of instructional media, especially dynamic media, is very important in learning mathematics in both elementary and junior high schools. The media was used to explain abstract mathematical problems to be concrete, motivate students, stimulate student learning activities, and help the effectiveness of the learning process. Technological devices such as computers are one of the tools that can be used as dynamic mathematics learning media. Mathematical learning collaboration with ICT devices has been widely carried out in urban and rural areas in Indonesia. Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) in the form of GeoGebra is a learning medium specifically developed to facilitate the learning of geometry, algebra, and calculus. Therefore, this community service activity (PkM) is intended to strengthen the teacher's pedagogical competence through the use of dynamic learning media using Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) in the form of GeoGebra in mathematics learning in junior high schools. This PkM aims to train teachers to be able to operate or create mathematics learning media assisted by DGS, especially in learning geometry to students. By making their own, teachers can add insight and increase creativity in making learning media. The supported subjects in these community service activities were junior high school mathematics teachers in Ruteng City. As for the results obtained after the PKM activities, the teachers can operate and create mathematics learning media using DGS in the form of GeoGebra.

Abstract

This study was performed to examine the students’ reading and math skills that affected their mathematics achievement. The objective of this research was to know the effectiveness of reading strategy (PQ4R strategy) on mathematical communication skill based on mathematical reasoning skill.It was quantitative research using quasi-experimental method conducted at SMAN 3 Depok in 2014 with 80 samples of students selected based on their mathematical reasoning skill. Data were obtained through questions about mathematical reasoning and mathematical communication and then analyzed with two-way ANOVA. The data analysis and interpretation showed that students who were taught with PQ4R strategy had better mathematical communication skill than students who have been traditionally taught. The effect of mathematical communication skill differed depending on mathematical reasoning ability. There was a more significant difference between students with high mathematical reasoning skill and low mathematical reasoning skill for students in the treatment condition than there was for subjects in the control condition. Thus, there was an interaction between the learning strategy and mathematical reasoning skill. The findings lead to the recommendation that reading skill could be used to improve student's mathematical communication skill and would ease the mathematical learning proces.test. DOI: https://doi.org/10.31235/osf.io/6xk7b

Abstract

Connection between mathematical content and the cultures of learnersin mathematics education should be acknowledged and explored. Thisresearch, conducted using a qualitative research approach, withethnographic methods, explored the relationship between formalmathematics especially geometric patterns and Motifs of ManggaraiEthnic Woven Fabric, known as Towe Songke in Cibal, ManggaraiRegency, a rural area in East Nusa Tenggara Indonesia. Total 3weavers of the age ranging from 20 to 40 selected based on theirweaving knowledge and communication skills. Data were obtainedthrough interviews, observations, field notes, and documentations.The research resulted in how mathematics learning on subjects such as geometry and geometry transformation was associated with the local cultural context of Manggarai. This study identified the line symmetry and the effect of geometric transformations (translations,reflections, rotation, and reflection) of several motifs in Towe Songke. Most of motifs which are found in Towe Songke forms Frieze Pattern F7 because these motifs can be seen as translation, horizontal reflection, vertical reflection and half turn rotation symmetry.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the mathematical connection ability of students who took mathematics learning with generative learning models and direct learning models. This quasi-experimental study used the posttest-only control group design. The population in the study was 212 people in class X TKJ SMK Informatics Santu Petrus Ruteng spread across six classes, and two classes were chosen as research samples using simple random sampling. The results of the calculation of the normality and homogeneity test as the prerequisite for the t-test showed that the data from the two groups are normally distributed with homogeneous variance. Then the hypothesis test is done using t-test to see the mathematical connection ability. Based on the analysis of the data obtained that the mathematical connection ability of students who use generative learning models is higher than those using direct learning models.
