Abstract

A conservative adherence to religious beliefs and fanaticism has the potential to result in a unilateral judgment toward other faiths. At the exoteric level, religions represent different ways of approaching the divine. However, when one sees this from an esoteric point of view, all these religions aim for one divinity. This esoteric perspective is in line with the idea of religious pluralism in the modern world. However, long before that, Ibn Arabi had already discussed this idea. Firstly, Ibn Arabi talked about his philosophy of divinity. God, on one hand, is One, unreachable, transcendent, but also as the resembling, close, immanent. From the immanent aspect, God then manifests and reveals Himself continuously, resulting in diverse beings, including religion. However, in this research, Ibn Arabi's ideas were found to be only ideological-apologetic. Therefore, the author collaborates them with Mukti Ali's ideas, which are modern and methodological, combining various approaches, both normative and scientific, in the study of religious moderation called scientific-cum-doctrinaire. The method used in this research is descriptive-collaborative. The scientific-cum-doctrinaire is used to investigate Islam and other religions, with the expectation that it will foster interfaith literacy, encourage inter-religious cooperation, and contribute to the promotion of religious moderation. In this light, the parallel between Mukti Ali and Ibn Arabi becomes apparent.

Abstract

Abstrak Pendekatan Studi islam merupakan suatu ilmu atau pengetahuan bagaimana cara kita mendekati atau mengenal lebih dalam tentang islam baik dari segi tauhid dan fiqih,sehingga dapat membentuk karakter manusian menjadi lebih baik dan beradap.Pendekata Studi islam merupakan suatu cara kerja ataupun cara berfikir seseorang untuk mengetahui dan mendalami islam secara luas dan menyeluruh agar tidak muncul pola fikir yang dangkal.Pendekatan studi islam adalah sebuah pendekatan atau proses pembelajaran yang memudahkan kita dalam memahami serta mendalami hakikat dari agama islam,dengan melakukan pendekatan studi islam kita lebih mengenal lebih dalam lagi tentang islam dan bagaimana berjalannya agama tersebut. Kajian akademik terhadap Islam dalam diskursus Kontemporer mengadaptasi metodologi dan epistemologi yang telah lama berkembang di Barat. Adaptasi terhadap metodologi keilmuan Barat (diyakini) menjadi sebuah keniscayaan sebagai perspektif dalam memandang Islam, dengan menggunakan paradigma seseorang, pendekatan dan metode yang terakumulasi dinamis dalam perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan tentang Islam. Hanya saja, perkembangan studi Islam bagi para ilmuan studi kajian agama masih terpecah belah berdasarkan perspektif yang dibangun. Sehingga pengajaran Islamic Studies terkesan menjadi dangkal, rentan terhadap konflik, tidak mendalam dan tidak komprehensif.

Abstract

Wahdah al-Wujud as one of the important concepts of Islamic studies has different ontological interpretations between philosophers and Islamic theologians and Sufis. These different interpretations result in ontologically significant differences in understanding implications. This study seeks to answer the problem of differences in the interpretation of the concept of wahdah al-wujūd from two major figures who indirectly have the same spirit, namely to harmonize various approaches and scholarship in Islam but have different positions and tendencies in interpreting the concept of wahdah based on each socio-cultural background. This research was conducted using the onto-epistemological analysis method which is part of the branch of philosophy. This research concludes that the ontological status constructed by al-Kurani has implications for theological wahdah al-wujūd which explicitly avoids the equality of creatures with God (tanzih and tasbih), while sadra still sees one entity but in different gradations. In addition, al-Kurani still assumes absolute nothingness, while Sadra assumes relative nothingness as the basis for the creation of a reality other than God. Finally, al-Kurani tends to adopt the theological doctrine of al-Kasb as the basis for the relevance of the interpretation of wahdah al-Wujud, while Sadra adheres to the principle of philosophical non-contradiction

Abstract

This article discuss about application theory Hassan Hanafi's hermeneutics in dissect phenomenon rampant pranks taking place in the contemporary era. In the discussion, researcher will do analysis based hadith prophet. Research methods This is qualitative. Whereas processing the data use method descriptive analytical. In the article This is the problem under study among them is background behind along with steps Hassan Hanafi's hermeneutics, postulates based on the Koran and hadith which have correlation with discussion this, and application Hassan Hanafi's hermeneutics towards hadith that has suitability with phenomenon prank. Study results show that 1). Steps Hassan Hanafi's hermeneutics is critics history, eidetic, and praxis. 2). At least there is three verse that has linkages with pranks, that is Al-Hujurat Verse 11, Al-A'raf Verse 51, Ash-Shura Verse 42. Whereas editorial hadith that has linkages with pranks, that is Musnad Ahmad 8366, Sunan Abu Dawud 4350, Sunan Abu Dawud 4351. 3). Phenomenon prank punished as something that is permissible, except There is detrimental elements, then matter the will change law pranks become haram.

Abstract

This article describes Yudian Wahyudi's thoughts regarding Maqasid al-Syari’ah as a method of solving contemporary problems in Indonesia. The primary data of this research was obtained from Yudian's writings about Maqasid al-Syari’ah. The secondary data were obtained from authoritative, up-to-date, and relevant literature sources. This study finds an Indonesian Maqasid al-Syari’ah theory, which is different from the Classical and Contemporary Maqasid al-Syari’ah. Indonesian Maqasid al-Syari’ah wants to harmonize between Maqasid al-Syari’ah (five primary needs or zharuriyyat al-khams) and IndonesianMaqasid (based on Pancasila). Maqasid al-Syari’ah Yudian's idea rests on four pillars, namely: tauhidul 'ulum (unity of knowledge) between Ayat Qur’aniyah, Kauniyah, and Insaniyah (zharuriyat ats-tsalasah) as the embodiment of the slogan al-Ruju' ila al-Qur'an wa al-Sunnah (Return to the Qur'an and Sunnah), the theory of pairing in Islamic law (ilahi-wad'i, absolute-relative, universal-local, eternal-temporary, and literal-meaning), method (Maqasid al -Syari'ah as an analytical knife or point of view to read the reality that is around us), and matters related to Indonesia. Meanwhile, Maqasid Indonesia is based on the five basic values of the goals of the Indonesian nation as embodied in Pancasila (Salam Pancasila): divinity (hifdz al-din), humanity (hifdz al-nafs), unity (hifdz al-nasl), deliberation and wisdom (hifdz al-’aql), and social justice (hifdz al-mal). The results of this study can have implications for the development and alignment factors of the Maqasid al-Syari’ah theory, which is unique to Indonesia. Indonesian Maqasid al-Syari’ah is a strengthening of the foundation of Usul al-Fiqh and Indonesian Fiqh.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to elaborate on a perspective regarding gender and the reform of Islam initiated by Asma Barlas. Barlas's argument in the context of gender thinking within the Islamic reformation stems from the reality that women, in 'Arab' society, often face discrimination and marginalization. For instance, historically, Arab culture suppressed views of injustice toward the position of women. Before the advent of Islam, women in Arab society experienced discrimination and unfair treatment. During the Jahiliyah era, women were considered beings of very low status and had no role in their own lives. Their authority was held by their father and brothers before marriage, and by their husbands after marriage. Women often received inhumane treatment during that time. This study concludes that in the context of Islamic reform, Barlas's gender thinking provides a foundation for the Islamic feminist movement. By detailing the history of oppression against women and offering a more inclusive interpretation of Islamic teachings, Barlas inspires Muslim women to take an active role in advocating for their rights. Her thoughts create momentum for change in how society perceives and values women's contributions in various aspects of life.

Abstract

Abstract: The fatwas difference occurred between the Central MUI and the regionsover the legal assessment of the AstraZeneca Vaccine containing pork trypsin in the manufacturing process; this later became a discussion on the halal status and sanctity of the vaccine. This study examines how fatwa contestation can occur internally at MUI and what realistic steps must be taken by the Indonesian government and MUI to control increasingly excessive issues. This research is packaged through library research by basing the analysis on relevant and correlative sources. Primary data is taken from the fatwa decision document No. 14 Tahun 2021 Tentang Hukum Penggunaan Vaksin Covid-19 Produk AstraZeneca by MUI. Secondary data is obtained through news reports, public media channels and other literature that still has a strong relationship with the main issue. This study concludes that MUI must consolidate, standardize and consider various perspectives in drawing the right conclusions and not causing public commotion and doubt. Abstrak: Perbedaan fatwa terjadi antara MUI Pusat dengan wilayahatas penilaian hukum Vaksin AstraZeneca yang mengandung zat tripsin babi dalam proses pembuatan. Hal ini kemudian menjadi perbincangan atas status kehalalan dan kesucian vaksin tersebut. Penelitian ini mengulas bagaimana kontestasi fatwa bisa terjadi di internal MUI, serta apa langkah realistis yang harus dilakukan pemerintah RI maupun MUI dalam mengendalikan isu yang semakin eksesif. Penelitian ini dikemas melalui riset kepustakaan dengan mendasarkan analisis pada sumber yang relevan dan korelatif. Data primer diambil dari dokumen putusan fatwa No. 14 Tahun 2021 Tentang Hukum Penggunaan Vaksin Covid-19 Produk AstraZeneca oleh MUI. Sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh melalui laporan pemberitaan, kanal media publik dan literatur pustaka lainnya yang masih memiliki keterkaitan kuat dengan isu utama. Penelitian ini berkesimpulan bahwa MUI harus melakukan konsolidasi, standarisasi dan pertimbangan atas berbagai perspektif dalam menarik kesimpulan yang tepat dan tidak menimbulkan keributan & keraguan publik.

Abstract

This article examines the influence of Western secular thought on Islamic civilization, focusing on its repercussions within the political domain. The dominance of secular politics, which often conflicts with Islamic values, poses a significant challenge to Islamic governance principles. In response to this ideological shift, Yusuf Qaradhawi has called for a political reformation grounded in Islamic teachings, framing this transformative effort as a form of jihad. To investigate this perspective, the study employs qualitative research methods, specifically library-based research, and document analysis. Primary data is sourced from Yusuf Qaradhawi's own writings, while secondary data includes a range of books, scholarly journals, bulletins, and encyclopedias pertinent to the topic. The analysis reveals that the core principles of democracy—such as the right of citizens to elect their leaders freely—are compatible with Islamic values. However, the study also identifies notable deviations from these democratic ideals in practice. In the context of Indonesia, where Islamic values have been incorporated into the democratic framework, discrepancies between theoretical principles and actual political practices remain significant. This paper not only highlights the alignment between Islamic principles and democratic values but also critically assesses the challenges and inconsistencies faced in their implementation.

Abstract

Tasawuf sebagai salah satu bidang studi dalam Islam, selalu diidentifikasi dengan peran dan kedudukan laki-laki dalam sejarahnya, sebagaimana bidang studi Islam lainnya juga tidak lepas dari tendensi patriarkis. Dengan demikian, artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggali lebih dalam tentang multifaset peran perempuan dalam perkembangan tradisi tasawuf. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa peran perempuan sangatlah krusial, selain memberikan dukungan spiritualitas, perempuan juga berperan aktif sebagai guru bagi tokoh-tokoh sufi besar dalam Islam. Mereka juga berperan sebagai dermawan yang menyuplai sumber dana kepada komunitas sufi. Kajian ini menggali posisi perempuan dalam konteks spiritualitas dan memberikan wawasan lebih lanjut tentang kontribusi mereka dalam tradisi Islam. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji lebih kritis peran perempuan dalam sejarah perkembangan tasawuf yang tidak hanya terbatas sebagai pemberi dukungan kepada laki-laki. Namun, peran perempuan dalam tradisi tasawuf sebenarnya jauh lebih beragam dan signifikan daripada sekadar menjadi pendukung semata, kedudukan perempuan meliputi banyak aspek sebagaimana peran laki-laki dalam sejarah perkembangan tasawuf.

Abstract

Produk halal tidak hanya terbatas pada makanan dan minuman, namun juga produk non-pangan seperti kosmetik, obat-obatan, dan barang gunaan. Untuk mengetahui suatu produk halal atau non-halal diperlukan fatwa halal kredibilitas dengan berdasarkan hukum Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dinamika fatwa halal terhadap produk non-makanan yang beredar di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan yakni deskriptif-analisis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode library research atau kajian pustaka. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah dengan pendekatan Fiqih.. Sumber data primer didapatkan dari Al-Qur’an, Hadist, dan Fatwa Majelis Ulama Indonesia. Sedangkan sumber data sekunder diperoleh dari literatur yang berkaitan dengan objek penelitian seperti jurnal, skripsi, tesis, maupun website resmi MUI dan BPJPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fatwa halal memiliki urgensi yang tinggi terhadap produk halal non pangan. Produk non pangan juga seyogyanya dipastikan kehalalannya baik dari proses produksi hingga pengemasan. Dasar hukum kehalalan produk non pangan terdapat dalam QS. Al-Maidah (5): 9. Fatwa MUI yang mengatur yaitu fatwa nomor 30 tahun 2013 tentang obat dan pengobatan, Fatwa MUI Nomor 26 Tahun 2013 Tentang Kosmetika, serta regulasi sertifikat halal produk non pangan dalam Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) Nomor 39 Tahun 2021 Tentang Penyelenggaraan Bidang Jaminan Produk Halal yang meliputi kosmetik, obat-obatan, dan barang gunaan.
