Abstract

Ethnomatematics is a science that studies or unites culture with mathematics. Culture is a habit of the people that is often carried out every day and Mathematics has many benefits for human life, so without realizing it, many mathematical concepts are applied in everyday life. Like calculating sizes and drawing a plane shape, buying and selling transactions are related to integer operations. This is in line with the research conducted, namely studying and analyzing ethnomathematics exploration in making tofu in Cibuntu which is a daily livelihood in order to obtain basic information in developing ethnomathematics for learning mathematics in the field of geometry specifically on the shape and size of tofu and learning mathematics in the field of social arithmetic specifically in tofu price. The goal in making Ethnomathematics is to harmonize the culture of the Cibuntu residents into the concept of Mathematics. The method used in this study is the Exploration method, which is to search in depth about Cibuntu Tofu. The instruments used in this study were interviews and documentation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze application problem based learning assited by student worksheets to improve the mathematical reasoning skill of class X Vocational High School students in the matter of a system of two-variable linear equations for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The research method used is pre-experimental design. The subjects of this study were 35 studens of class at a SMK in Cimahi City. Research data was collected using tests and questionnaires. The data collection technique used in this study was in the form of the test instruments in the form of pretest and posttest as well as questionnaires to analyze student responses. The results of the research show 1) the application of the problem based learning can improve students’ mathematical reasoning skill, this is show from the average score N-Gain student size  are in the high criteria, where as many as 11 students with the category N-Gain medium and 24 students are in the category N-Gain tall, 2) student responses are in the category of strongly agree, meaning that students strongly agree with the application of the learning problem-based learning which can improve mathematical reasoning ability.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah melatih siswa dalam memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, menyelesaikan masalah, dan menafsirkan solusi. Siswa yang memahami konsep matematika memiliki kepercayaan diri yang tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self-confidence siswa pada materi aritmatika sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pedoman wawancara, dan skala self-confidence. Subjek pada penelitian ini sebanyak 35 siswa pada salah satu SMP. Berdasarkan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa masih rendah. Sebagian besar siswa kesulitan dalam memahami masalah, hanya setengah dari siswa yang dapat merencanakan penyelesaian, menyelesaikan masalah, dan menafsirkan solusi. Self-confidence siswa dalam pelajaran matematika tergolong baik. Meskipun kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa masih rendah, tidak melemahkan kepercayaan diri mereka dalam menemukan solusi dari masalah.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to design Student Worksheets (LKPD) using the discovery learning model to enable students to understand the material being studied. This research uses a design research method with three stages, namely design design, design implementation, and retrospective analysis. The instruments used in this research are LKPD design and summative tests, data analysis uses retrospective analysis by describing the results of research instruments that have been carried out by students. Design planning starts from determining goals and competencies, selecting teaching materials, creating LKPD model discovery learning, consulting with lecturers and design improvements. The application of the design is carried out during learning activities. LKPD analysis shows good things, students are able to follow and complete the learning process using LKPD, in the summative test students are able to answer the questions given with good data and steps, plus the results of learning reflection show students are happy and easily understand the concept of the material using the LKPD so that the LKPD model of discovery learning has a big role in understanding of concepts
