Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of a game-based learning model on the reading literacy skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 24 Rabangodu Utara, Bima City. The research was motivated by the low reading literacy levels of students, as indicated by poor text comprehension, slow reading speed, and limited vocabulary mastery. A pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The subjects were 18 students who took reading literacy tests before and after the implementation of a snakes and ladders game-based learning medium. Data were collected through tests, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant improvement in reading literacy scores, from an average of 63.56 in the pretest to 81.33 in the posttest (p < 0.05). Game-based learning proved effective in enhancing students’ participation, motivation, and reading comprehension. This strategy is recommended as an alternative for literacy learning in primary schools and can be developed for other literacy aspects through digital media integration.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on improving students' collaboration skills in fourth-grade science learning at SDN 06 Bima City. The problem raised is the low collaboration skills of students caused by the dominance of conventional learning methods. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 38 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and collaboration ability tests. The results showed an increase in students' average scores from 75.00 in the pretest to 80.50 in the posttest. The t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05) which means there is a significant difference before and after using the Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative model. This indicates that the Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative model is considered Games Tournament (TGT) can be an alternative, innovative learning model that encourages active participation and develops collaboration skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

Pendekatan Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) merupakan model pembelajaran yang berfokus pada pengelompokan siswa berdasarkan tingkat kemampuan, bukan berdasarkan usia atau kelas. Tujuan utama dari pendekatan ini adalah memastikan setiap siswa memperoleh materi dan bantuan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tingkat pemahaman mereka. TaRL mendorong proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dengan mengedepankan keaktifan dan partisipasi mereka dalam setiap kegiatan belajar. Berbeda dengan model pembelajaran konvensional di Indonesia yang mengandalkan pengelompokan usia, TaRL membagi siswa ke dalam level kemampuan seperti level pemula, huruf, kata, paragraf, hingga cerita. Proses asesmen awal menjadi langkah penting dalam menentukan level siswa agar guru dapat memberikan materi yang relevan dan menantang sesuai kebutuhan. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi siswa dengan kemampuan rendah tetapi juga memperhatikan kebutuhan siswa berkemampuan tinggi agar tetap termotivasi dan berkembang. Implementasi TaRL yang telah berhasil di berbagai negara, termasuk India, membuktikan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa. TaRL juga mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan adaptif terhadap keragaman individu. Selain itu, pendekatan ini memberikan solusi atas permasalahan siswa lamban belajar yang sering kali mengalami hambatan dalam kelas reguler. Dengan TaRL, pembelajaran dapat disesuaikan agar setiap siswa, baik yang kesulitan maupun yang unggul, mendapatkan peluang yang sama untuk berkembang sesuai potensinya. Dengan demikian, TaRL menjadi strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

Low health literacy impacts individuals' ability to make decisions, access services, and understand medical information. Improving health literacy is a critical priority for improving the quality of life for communities, including in Bima Regency-NTB. However, health literacy studies are still limited, both in the development of measurement tools and educational media, necessitating innovations tailored to local needs. This research responds to this situation by developing the Almihjam application, a digital educational media for cupping therapy, as cupping is a popular traditional treatment in Bima. The research objective is to produce a valid, effective, and publicly accepted cupping education application, thereby improving health literacy and encouraging safe cupping practices in accordance with local medical and cultural principles. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Expert validation results showed a feasibility score of 78.5%, indicating the application is feasible. Health literacy data shows that the community has positive knowledge and attitudes toward cupping, although its practice is still limited. User response has been very high, with average ratings of satisfaction, content clarity, and feature usefulness above 95%. Thus, the Almihjam app has the potential to be an effective digital innovation for improving health literacy among the Bima community.

Abstract

Penanganan masalah gizi sebagai isu kesehatan masyarakat tidak hanya dapat dilakukan melalui pendekatan medis dan layanan kesehatan. Pengetahuan tentang gizi memainkan peran krusial dalam membentuk pola makan anak. Jika anak memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup mengenai nutrisi dan pentingnya makanan sehat, anak dapat membuat pilihan makanan yang lebih baik. Sebaliknya, kurangnya pengetahuan tentang gizi dapat menyebabkan anak memilih makanan yang kurang bergizi atau tidak seimbang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan dan jumlah uang jajan terhadap pola makan anak sekolah dasar di SDN 45 Kota Bima. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pengaruh pengetahuan terhadap pola makan yang didapatkan dari hasil analisis statistik adalah p value = 0.002 < 0.05 berarti disimpulkan ada pengaruh antara pengetahuan terhadap pola makan anak sekolah dasar di SDN 45 Kota Bima. Pengaruh uang jajan terhadap pola makan yang didapatkan dari hasil analisis statistik adalah p value = 0.004 < 0.05 berarti disimpulkan ada pengaruh antara jumlah uang jajan terhadap pola makan anak sekolah dasar di SDN 45 Kota Bima.

Abstract

The mental health of school children is gaining increasing attention, particularly concerning the social environment at school. This social environment encompasses various aspects such as peer interactions, relationships with teachers, and the overall school climate. These factors have a significant impact on children's mental health, including their emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Peer interaction is a key component of the school’s social environment. Positive relationships with peers can provide emotional support, boost self-confidence, and help children develop important social skills. Conversely, negative experiences such as bullying or social isolation can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the school social environment and the mental health of adolescents. This study uses a quantitative research approach with a cross-sectional design. The respondents of this study were 33 samples. The results of the statistical test showed that there is a significant relationship between the school social environment and students' mental health, with a p-value of 0.01, which is less than the significance threshold of 0.05. It can be concluded that the school social environment has a significant impact on students' mental health.
