Abstract

This research aims to determine the strategy of upgrading waiter/ss skills at Makase Restaurant. The subject of this study is Supervisor and employee of Makase Restaurant. The object of this study is a strategy to improve the skills of waiter/ss at Makase Restaurant. Data collection methods are observations, documentation and interviews. The results of this research are (1) waiter/ss constraints in serving guests at Makase Restaurant is a limitation of foreign languages because not all guests can speak English cause slow service and guest complaint. (2) the strategy used to improve the skills of waiter/ss is to provide consistent training, competency tests, and hold competitions in hotels that can affect operational smoothness, increase guest satisfaction and increase sales.

Abstract

The strategy for handling guest complaints is very important to be improved because it is able to create quality service and a good cooperative relationship with guests. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. The purpose of this study was to determine the Complaints Handling Strategy conducted by Front Office employees at the Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali Hotel. The data obtained are primary data obtained from interviews with Front Office Managers. The results showed that the Complaints Handling conducted by front office employees at the Baruna Bali Holiday Inn Resort used the ILEAD method, namely Identify, Listen, Empathize, Apologize, and Deliver Solution. The ILEAD method as a complaint handling strategy has been running well.

Abstract

The paradigm of developing alternative tourism is a development option for Bali Aga village as a tourism village. This paper aims at investigating form of alternative tourism implementation in Bali Aga Village valued by its tourist activities. This research focuses on tourist aspects including the importance of culture, motives for travelling (what they do on holiday and how they feel and behave) such as participating with the local people making bamboo weaving, they felt like family members. Because of the interaction that makes tourists and local people very closely filled with a sense of kinship. The importance of this research is to determine how much the characteristics of alternative tourism have been implemented in Bali Aga village. This research is a qualitative research. Data were taken by administering purposive sampling technique. The results of the study are used as a basis for describing the application of alternative tourism concepts in two villages of Bali Aga, namely Pedawa Village and Sidatapa Village, Buleleng Regency. The study shows that (1) tourists really like the culture that is owned by the community, (2) the purpose of visiting tourists does have a purpose to get to know the culture of the community and be involved in people's lives; (3) visiting tourists live in the home of the Bali Aga village community. Thus, the totality of community involvement as actors of tourist service providers has been able to show the main characteristics of alternative tourism.

Abstract

The purpose of this devotion is to train some of people in BaturTengah Village who work as merchants to make tourism productsindependently. During this tourism products are sold in the KintamaniTourism Area such as clothing, sculpture or knick knacks such as keychains are supplied from other places, both other areas that are still in theprovince of Bali and outside Bali. The phenomenon is actually not goodfor the sustainability of the efforts that are cultivated by some people inthe village of Batur Tengah. In addition to creating dependency, they arealso used by suppliers as marketers to sell their products as well asunderstand the needs of tourists who visit Bali, especially to Kintamanitourism area. Based on this phenomenon, then on this occasion, thedevotion done by trained on some souvenir vendor to create a souvenirmerchandise products independently, such as key chains and hangers thatcan be installed in the car. It is expected that through this training whichheld on in open space so that tourists can see it, then interested to buy, caninfluence the people of Batur Tengah Village who work as souvenirvendor to create tourism product independently that the result can be feltbetter economically.Key Words: Devotion, Create, Souvenir, Tourism Product

Abstract

A Conscious Tourism Group in Indonesia called Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) is one of the groups in society that has an important role and contribution in tourism development in a region. The existence of Pokdarwis in the tourist destination should get support and guidance either by the community itself, government, academy and investors. This is so that Pokdarwis can play a more effective role in helping to mobilize the community in realizing the environment and atmosphere that is conducive to the growth and development of tourism activities in tourist destinations. Buleleng District there are 12 Pokdarwis which in practice still needs to get attention from various parties. On this occasion, the Ipteks for Society (IbM) program, which is an annual program implemented by a university, can be a means of providing services to the community regarding issues that arise in the group. Through this IbM program, two Pokdarwis, such as Pokdarwis Tunjung Mekar and Pokdarwis Bhuana Shanti, have just developed physical potential, requiring assistance and training to maximize the potential of their village. In this case the two groups are not well understood for the package tour, so based on the condition, IbM's programme is a means to arrange the community to create package including marketing strategies. Understood the disadvantages of guiding guides that guide travelers who ask them to use a foreign language, then the IbM program is created guidebook in two languages and Indonesian. Through participatory approaches various forms of training and guidance on how to package tourism, holiday techniques and marketing strategies can be done well.Keywords: Pokdarwis, Training, Package Tour, Tourist Guidelines Book, Marketing Strategy.

Abstract

Penelitian This research was conducted in order to understand a form of education that is based on the needs of the community through the use of a variety of capital that can be used in the development of tourism in Buleleng. This study uses ethnographic approach which is a culturalist approach and its emphasis on people's lives. This approach is used considering the culture comes from the community and maintained and implemented by the community. Data in this study were collected through observation and interviews. Moreover carried out literature to books, previous studies and articles that have relevance to the case examined in this study. The data processing is done qualitative descriptive narrative presented. In this case, the existence of regional capitals in Buleleng are very interesting to be known, understood and analyzed in depth in order to produce a model of sustainable tourism. The development of an area into a tourist attraction is not an easy matter. However, the government can work together with local communities to develop the existing tourism in the area, where the first step can be done by utilizing local labor in the area and to synergy between the needs of the community with programs implemented so that the common goal of improving the quality of tourism and social welfare can be achieved.Keywords: an alternative  , education, tourism

Abstract

Tersedianya informasi yang berbasis teknologi saat ini merupakan tuntutan bagi berbagai pelaku usaha pariwisata, termasuk desa wisata. Dalam hal ini informasi pariwisata yang baik, terpercaya dan terbaharukan sangat dibutuhkan agar sebuah destinasi wisata mampu diketahui dan dikenal dengan baik, khususnya bagi wisatawan. Profil desa wisata yang merupakan gambaran menyeluruh tentang karakter desa dan jenis kepariwisataan yang dikembangkan di suatu desa sangat penting untuk disusun dan diketahui oleh pihak masyarakat yang terlibat di dalam pengembangan desanya sebagai desa wisata, serta dipublikasikan kepada pihak yang akan berkontribusi positif terhadap pengembangan pariwisata di desa tersebut. Desa Sudaji yang telah mengembangkan dirinya sebagai desa wisata, belum memiliki data profil desa wisata yang dibutuhkan untuk menginventarisasi data desanya, baik sumber daya manusia, sumber daya alam, sumber daya budaya, prasarana pariwisata, dan sarana pariwisata. Data tersebut sangat penting untuk tahap pengembangan selanjutnya, agar kegiatan pariwisata dapat dilakukan secara bertahap, terkoordinasi dan berkelanjutan. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini, penyusunan profil desa wisata yang dilakukan secara manual, dimasukkan ke dalam sistem teknologi dengan tujuan untuk mempermudah akses informasi oleh pihak yang membutuhkan data untuk pembangunan dan pengembangan desa, khususnya Desa Sudaji. Diharapkan dengan tersedianya profil desa wisata di Desa Sudaji secara lengkap, valid dan selalu terbaharui dapat berguna untuk kemajuan desa wisata yang dikembangkan di desa tersebut. Kata Kunci: Pariwisata, Pedesaan, Profil, Desa Sudaji

Abstract

Five Bali Aga (Old Balinese) tourist villages in Banjar District, North Bali, collaborated to promote their tourism potential through virtual tours two times during 2021 by bringing up different topics each time. This study analyses the process and the community involvement during implementation of virtual tour and also themes that were provided for the virtual tours. In collecting data, this qualitative study involved a literature review, participatory observation, and interviews. Data were analysed using marketing theory and community-based tourism theory. The analysis shows that Bali Aga tourist villages were very active in preparing attractions and conducting the virtual tours. This article contributes to our understanding that virtual tour as a new form of marketing communication in promoting tourist destination virtually. Moreover, virtual tours are not only for tourism promotion but are also useful for helping the community in maintaining their spirit to manage tourist attractions during the pandemic.

Abstract

The study aims to identify the challenges and the strategies to improving the service quality of the waiter/ss in Fire Restaurant W Bali along the Covid-19 pandemic. The research design is qualitative which involving interview, observation, and documentation as the instruments to collect the data. Based on the results, it was found that there were some challenges in the restaurant, such things as operational system, financial issue, and lack of foreign languages knowledge. Some strategies were implemented to overcome the challenges. Those were, Dry eight service training, using SOP, taking care of guest’s needs, and giving appreciation to the waiter.

Abstract

Panji Tourism Village that is located in Buleleng Regency, Bali has various tourism potentials such as nature, history, culture, and man-made attractions which are generally developed through training and education for micro small, and medium enterprises products as valuable and highly competitive tourist souvenirs from Panji Village. However, these various potentials have not been properly promoted in order to attract tourists. In the era of information and technology, digital marketing has become one of the keys in developing Panji Tourism Village to provide information and effective promotions to introduce cultural wisdom and natural beauty. Departing from this condition, this community service program aimed at assisting the village in increasing the promotion and branding of Panji Tourism Village through providing socialization and training related to digital marketing to POKDARWIS members in Panji Village with various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, virtual tours, and websites, providing profiles, developing and managing the https://ecovilllagepanji.id website. The methods of the community service program were mainly in the form of a workshop that included lectures, discussion, and practice. The result of the community service program is the creation of creative and innovative web-based digitization of tourism village profiles. This promotional media is able to bring in tourists thereby increasing the welfare of the community.
