Abstract

COVID-19 has deeply disturbed the world with the confirmation of 318.6 million positive cases worldwide. There have been 14.1 thousand deaths and 4.2 million confirmed positives in Indonesia; the most common cluster of death cases is healthcare workers (HCw), totaling 2066 cases. This type of research is qualitative research with an exploratory descriptive design. The number of participants in this study is 12 people. The findings of this study revealed that there was excessive transmission in HCw, and one of the hospitals was temporarily closed because more than 20 HCw tested positive for COVID-19. In the psychology sub-category, there is still a level of stress felt by HCW dealing with COVID-19, and there is still a lack of special attention given to the anxiety and stress levels of these patients by hospitals. In the preventive care sub-category, the problem is that some hospitals still do not have OSH experts, so the risk assessment process and occupational health services are not carried out. As for the sub-category of medical device availability, further studies are still needed regarding the health system, especially in the availability of health devices in dealing with pandemics and other health-related disasters.

Abstract

Healthcare workers (HCw) are at the forefront of treating infectious diseases. The excessive workload on Covid-19 HCw adds to the level of fatigue and psychological burden that existed before the Covid-19 pandemic. HCw knowledge of the likelihood of infection can affect their mental and physical stress levels, so they will experience common symptoms including trauma, fear, anxiety, and insomnia caused by excessive fear of infection. This study aims to summarize most research articles that discuss the description and influence of psychology on health workers throughout Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a systematic method of qualitative review (meta-synthesis). High levels of stress, depression, anxiety, and insomnia symptoms were found in Indonesia. The results also showed the influence of gender, education, and contact with patients on the incidence of psychological problems in health workers. Providing positive support and preparing psychiatric personnel in hospitals and/or other healthcare settings can reduce the impact of psychology on healthcare workers.

Abstract

Introduction: The teenage age group is the most vulnerable category to various negative behaviors, such as risky sexual behavior. Consequently, there is an increase in adolescent health issues, such as the spread of sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies, early marriages, and abortions. Parents play a crucial role in providing the foundations of teenagers' personalities and guiding them to make responsible decisions, including those related to their sexuality. All forms of interaction between parents and teenagers manifest in the form of parenting styles. In addition to the role of parents, teenagers themselves must also have high self-efficacy to avoid premarital sexual behavior. Objective: This study aims to examining the relationship between parenting styles and self-efficacy with premarital sexual behavior among high school adolescents in Gunungkidul Regency. Method: This study is a quantitative research employing a cross-sectional study design. Results: Adolescents engaging in premarital sexual behavior have a risk of 36.21%. There is a significant relationship between parenting styles and premarital sexual behavior among high school adolescents (p < 0.05). There is also a significant relationship between self-efficacy and premarital sexual behavior. Gender and peer influence are significantly associated with premarital sexual behavior (p < 0.05), while exposure to information is not related to premarital sexual behavior (p > 0.05). The study concludes that adolescents who receive permissive parenting styles and have low self-efficacy are more likely to engage in risky premarital sexual behavior.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) in elementary schools aims to improve children’s nutritional status, but its success largely depends on clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS), especially the habit of handwashing before eating. This community service activity aimed to educate first-grade students at SD Negeri Inpres Kotaraja, Kota Jayapura, about the importance of washing hands with soap before consuming MBG meals. The methods used included simple counseling, demonstration of the six-step handwashing technique, and supporting media such as songs, posters, and educational games. Direct observations were conducted to assess student engagement and behavior changes before mealtime. The results showed that students were enthusiastic in participating and began to develop the habit of handwashing before eating. This program received support from teachers and parents and was considered effective in fostering healthy behavior habits from an early age. This education is expected to support the sustainable success of MBG implementation and increase awareness of PHBS in the school environment. Keywords: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) Education, Handwashing with Soap (HWWS), Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), Elementary School, Child Health Empowerment

Abstract

A Systematic Literature Review (SLR), also referred to as a literature review, serves as a foundation for the development of scientific knowledge, policymaking, practice, and guidelines that are firmly grounded in evidence-based research. Meta-analysis is often regarded as a more advanced and focused component within the broader scope of SLR. The authors observed that many students still rely predominantly on descriptive research methods that focus solely on frequencies, without conducting in-depth observation or analysis of variables. The purpose of this community service activity (PKM) is to conduct training for students on a more advanced methodological approach meta-analysis. The training is scheduled for two days: the first day focuses on theoretical concepts, and the second day is dedicated to hands-on practice. To evaluate the effectiveness of the training, identical pre- and post-training questionnaires will be distributed to all participants. The results demonstrate that this activity effectively enhances students’ understanding of SLR and meta-analysis through practical application using appropriate software tools. The implementation of pre- and post-tests is crucial for evaluating the success of any educational intervention.

Abstract

Noise in the workplace is one of the risk factors that can endanger the health and safety of workers. Noise exposure is commonly found in industrial areas such as factories, production machinery, and activities around airports. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 430 million people worldwide suffer from hearing loss. This study aims to analyze the relationship and effect of noise exposure on hearing loss among workers in Indonesia. The research method employed is a systematic literature review with a meta-analysis approach, involving the stages of searching, screening, and analyzing data from relevant scientific articles. The results of the meta-analysis show a p-value of < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant association between noise exposure and hearing loss. The Odds Ratio (OR) value of 2.643 suggests that workers exposed to noise levels exceeding the Threshold Limit Value (TLV) are 2.6 times more likely to experience hearing loss compared to those who are not exposed or are exposed to noise levels below the TLV. The 95% Confidence Interval (CI) ranges from 1.513 to 4.610. Based on these findings, it is recommended that both workers and companies regularly measure noise levels, use hearing protection equipment, and conduct ongoing education and evaluations of workplace hazards.

Abstract
