Abstract

Tanjung Rejo Tourism Village is the only mangrove tourism village in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The priority problem that occurs at the service location is that the people do not yet understand that preserving mangroves can provide prosperity for the community. People still like to cut down mangroves to sell as charcoal or make full-fledged fish ponds. Community’s indifference in preserving mangrove forests can also be caused by their lack of involvement in mangrove forest management. The purpose of holding community service in the Tanjung Rejo is to open the insight of the people regarding the importance of managing mangrove forest resources and in turn will ensure the sustainability of these natural resources. The method is socialization in the form of lectures, discussions and making action plans. The results are community/partners were very enthusiastic about the socialization provided by the PKM Village Development Team. Through the outreach provided, community/partners can understand the concept of sustainable tourism and can develop action plans to implement the sustainable tourism agenda in the Tanjung Rejo Tourism Village. The conclusion and suggestion from the implementation of this PKM is the creation of an action plan to be implemented in Tanjung Rejo village.

Abstract

This Phenomenon provides opportunities to utilize the internet and social media in various business sectors, including marketing activities that are usually carried out in the tourism industry. This study was conducted to formulate a digital media management strategy in tourism marketing by local governments. This study was conducted in the city of Medan, where local officials have attempted to utilize various digital media platforms in tourism marketing. Unfortunately, tourists are less enthusiastic about visiting events and tourist attractions in this city. Therefore, it is necessary to reanalyze the existing conditions by formulating new strategies for digital tourism marketing by the Medan City Tourism Office. This study was conducted using PEST analysis, Porter’s Diamond Model, Value Chain Analysis, SWOT Analysis, and Balanced Scorecard. The results identified 8, 16, 13, and 4 categories of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The SWOT analysis results place digital media tourism marketing in quadrant III. The conclusion from the results and discussion is that strategy mapping and measurement using the Balanced Scorecard categorizes 13 alternative strategies into 4 perspectives, namely financial, customer, business process, and growth and learning. The novelty of this research is that the growth and learning perspective produces two alternative strategies, namely conducting market analysis and designing target profiles for each platform

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the implementation of sustainable entrepreneurship in Wine Coffee Gogo MSME and its relation to tourism development in North Tapanuli Regency using the Triple Bottom Line framework. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with the business owner, and field documentation. The analysis examined business practices across three sustainability dimensions: economic, social, and environmental. The findings Indicate that the economic dimension is the most dominant, reflected in product innovation based on local coffee resources that generates added value and strengthens the enterprise’s position within the regional value chain. In the social dimension, local workforce empowerment and women’s involvement in business management demonstrate contributions to community-level economic distribution, although formal partnership systems have not yet been established. Meanwhile, the environmental dimension is manifested through the use of locally sourced raw materials and production efficiency; however, environmental management practices remain insufficiently formalized. This study highlights that locally based MSMEs play a strategic role as a linkage between entrepreneurship and sustainable tourism development. The contribution of this research lies in emphasizing the importance of institutional integration and an ecosystem-based approach in strengthening the implementation of sustainable entrepreneurship at the micro-enterprise level.

Abstract

A brand is a fundamental part of the marketing strategy in influencing purchase interest. A person’s buying ability will influence a customer to choose the product they want. In addition, higher competitiveness among hotels will create more awareness to maintain customer satisfaction and turn it into customer loyalty as the main target of their marketing. In connection with achieving customer loyalty, hotels must study the factors influencing customers to become loyal or switch from the hotel brand. A brand can be measured through brand equity which consists of a set of assets and liabilities of the Brand associated with the name and symbol of the Brand that can be given to consumers. Important and measurable components in forming brand equity include brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, and brand loyalty. This study examines the variables that make the difference between loyalists and customers who switch hotel brands. The data used were taken from 42 respondents spread across the International Departure Terminal of Kualanamu Airport. The research method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The data were analyzed using the discriminant analysis method through the SPSS 12.0 program. And other limitations for this research are 5-Star Hotels and Chain International in Medan. Discriminant analysis shows that one factor requiring search variation distinguishes between brand loyalists and brand switchers. The Brand switching matrices show that all hotels serving consumers in Medan have low customer loyalty. The ratio between brand loyalists and brand switchers was 1:9, which means that only one person is loyal to one brand out of 10 consumers of accommodation services. The rest are types of consumers who like to switch to other brands.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the development of Kampung Warna Warni Tiga Rihit Tourism Village in Simalungun Regency using the framework of the Ten Steps of Green Tourism Village Development. The research is based on the perspective of sustainable tourism and community-based tourism, which emphasize environmental sustainability, community participation, and equitable economic benefits. A qualitative approach was employed through observation, in-depth interviews with tourism village managers and visitors, and literature review. The evaluation was conducted using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model to assess the implementation of tourism village development. The findings indicate that several stages of development have been initiated, including building collective commitment, mapping village potential, preparing human resources, and improving environmental arrangements and supporting facilities. However, these stages have not been implemented comprehensively. In addition, the monitoring and evaluation system has not yet been institutionalized, resulting in limited evidence of economic improvement, community empowerment, environmental conservation, and enhancement of local quality of life. These findings suggest that strengthening participatory governance, capacity development, and systematic monitoring and evaluation is necessary to support the sustainable development of the tourism village.
