Abstract

Promotional strategies have a significant impact on decisions to pay zakat at a zakat institution in the era of digital advancement. This study intends to investigate the determinants of zakat payment at the National Zakat Agency (Badan Amil Zakat Nasional - BAZNAS) of South Sumatra Province, Indonesia, using influencer endorsement and electronic word of mouth as independent variables. A total of 250 people, which were selected using the purposive sampling method, participated in this study. The data was processed and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that electronic word of mouth strengthens the beneficial relationship between influencer endorsement and the decision to pay zakat at the BAZNAS. The impact of influencer endorsement on zakat payment decisions was shown to be substantially stronger when electronic word of mouth was included as a moderator variable. The finding suggests that the BAZNAS of South Sumatra must play an optimal role in utilizing public figures to promote the BAZNAS' features, as well as increasing information about BAZNAS on social media, so that muzzaki are interested in paying zakat through BAZNAS.========================================================================================================ABSTRAK – Apa yang Mendorong Keputusan Membayar Zakat pada BAZNAS Sumatera Selatan? In the digital age, financial technology (fintech) developments offer new opportunities for the practice of Islamic charity, particularly zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS). One of the most innovative solutions is the use of cryptocurrency in these charitable activities. This article aims to analyze the impact of cryptocurrency adoption in the collection and distribution of ZIS by reviewing relevant literature and existing case studies. The research seeks to understand the potential, challenges, and legal implications of utilizing cryptocurrency in Islamic charity. The findings reveal that while cryptocurrency has the potential to enhance the efficiency and transparency of ZIS collection, it also presents challenges related to regulation, value stability, and acceptance by religious authorities.

Abstract

Policies that link access to social assistance with vasectomy reflect a form of state intervention that has the potential to violate basic principles of justice and human rights. Instead of strengthening welfare, such a policy raises serious problems in terms of the protection of offspring (ḥifẓ an-nasl) and the protection of property (al-māl) as stipulated in Maqāṣid as-Sharī'ah. This study uses normative legal approaches and qualitative methods to analyze these policies from the perspective of Islamic ethics and social rights frameworks. The results of the study show that imposing permanent contraceptive methods as a prerequisite for social assistance is not only contrary to the principles of maqāṣid, but also creates systemic discrimination against vulnerable groups. In this context, the state should not necessarily sacrifice the basic rights of citizens for the sake of achieving demographic figures. Therefore, this research challenges policy logic that ignores the values of protection and justice, and encourages the formulation of public policies that are more humane, inclusive, and in accordance with the socio-religious ethics of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

This research discusses the transformation of conventional banks to digital banking by emphasizing the importance of regulation and risk management. The method used is literature review, collecting and reviewing references related to OJK regulations governing digital banking services and risk management related to digital banks. The results show that strong regulations are needed to protect consumers and ensure the stability of the digital banking system. In addition, banks must implement adequate risk management to address threats such as cybersecurity, data protection, and operational risks. Good risk management allows banks to mitigate the negative impacts that may arise during the digitalization process. This research emphasizes the importance of regulation and comprehensive risk management in maintaining sustainability and customer trust in digital banking.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of capital structure and financial performance of Islamic banks on price stability in Indonesia using an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model with quarterly data from 2014 to 2024. Key variables include the Capital Adequacy Ratio, Total Regulatory Capital, Tier 1 Capital, Risk-Weighted Assets, Net Income, and the Consumer Price Index. Long-term findings reveal that robust capital indicators enhance price stability by strengthening banks' resilience and credit capacity. In contrast, Net Income mitigates inflationary pressure in the long run but intensifies it in the short term. The error correction term confirms rapid adjustment toward equilibrium after short-term shocks. These results underscore the critical role of sound capital and profitability in reinforcing Islamic banks’ contribution to Indonesia’s monetary policy, offering valuable insights for policymakers and regulators in promoting macroeconomic stability.
