Abstract

This research is based on the results of observations and interviews with teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Idanotae where researchers obtained information that the ability to understand students' concepts was low, making it difficult for students to explain math problems, this is evidenced by the average student test scores. only around 59 with sufficient category. This study aims to find out how students' understanding abilities when using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The research design used is the One-Shot Case Study. The research instrument used was a test of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The number of population in this study is 215 people with a large sample of 36 people taken using nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling technique. Based on the results of the research, after learning in class using the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model, it was obtained that the average ability to understand students' mathematical concepts was 75.38 which was in the good category. This is inversely proportional to the average ability to understand students' mathematical concepts when making initial observations, which were only around 59 in the sufficient category. It can be shown that the mathematical understanding ability of students at SMA Negeri 1 Ulu Idanotae increased when learning was implemented using the Contextual Teaching and Learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari pada hasil studi pendahuluan yang telah dilakukan peneliti di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara, diemukan beberapa masalah yaitu (1). Kurangnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa, (2). Kurangnya keyakinan diri siswa terhadap kemampuannya sendiri dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika, (3). Siswa takut, ragu dan gugup menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada di matematika. Adapun tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh model scaffolding terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis berdasarkan self-efficacy siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara dengan populasi 5 kelas dan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas VIII-D dan VIII-E. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen eksperimen semu dengan desain Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Menggunakan teknik analisis data yaitu Analisis varians dua jalur (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1). Berdasarkan hasil analisis varian (ANOVA) pada taraf signifikan = 0.05, diperoleh Fh(b) = 192,488 > Ftabel = 2,606. Dengan demikian Fh(b) > Ftabel, sehingga H0 ditolak, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, terdapat perbedaan pengaruh yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang diberikan scaffolding dengan kelompok siswa yang diberikan metode konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. (2). Karena pada derajat kepercayaan 0,05 maka hipotesis kedua dapat diterima, dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada siswa yang memiliki tingkat self-efficacy rendah, cukup rendah, sedang, cukup tinggi dan tinggi. (3). Hasil perhitungan ANOVA dapat diketahui dari hasil pengujian hipotesis ketiga pada baris interkasi AB menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak berdasarkan nilai Fh(I) = 2,748 > Ftab = 2,606. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat interaksi yang signifikan antara model Scaffolding dan Self-Efficacy terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that must be mastered by students at school. But the reality is that SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi students suffer from learning difficulties because of the mathematical communication skills of the students who are still in the category. So, the student is unable to communicate his ideas and ideas without the teacher's involvement. The aim of this study was to find out the influence of Trefffinger's learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is experimental research using experimental methods (quasy experimental research). The research population was a whole of class VIII students consisting of 4 classes with samples of 2 classes taken by random sampling, namely class VIII-3 as a control class and class VIII-4 as an experimental class. The data is collected by giving the student a mathematical communication skills test that is analyzed by guiding the student's mathematics communication ability test withdrawal. Based on the results of the research, obtained the test of the hypothesis with the value thitung = 11,687 and the value ttable = 1,67. Because thitung > ttable or 11,687>1,67 then reject Ho and accept Ha. which means “There is an effect of Treffinger's learning model on the mathematical communication skills of students in SMP Negeri 1 Botomuzoi

Abstract

This research is based on a preliminary study conducted by researchers during observations at SMP Negeri 3 Mandrehe Barat. The problem is that students' mathematical problem-solving skills still need improvement. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of brainstorming learning methods on students' mathematical problem-solving ability. This type of research uses the quasi-experimental research method involving two groups that are given different treatments. The population of this study was all VIII classes of SMP Negeri 3 Mandrehe Barat, and two classes were selected by simple random sampling as research samples, namely class VIII-A totaling 20 students as an experimental class taught using the brainstorming learning method and class VIII-B 21 students as a control class taught using conventional learning methods. Data were collected through student mathematical problem-solving ability tests. Based on this research, the results of hypothesis testing are   and . Because   > , then Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted that there is an effect of brainstorming learning method on students' mathematical problem-solving ability at SMP Negeri 3 Mandrehe Barat.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of self-confidence, fear, worry, discomfort, and nervousness of students during the mathematics learning process and the low mathematical communication skills of students. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy and mathematical anxiety on students' mathematical communication skills. This type of research is correlational research with quantitative methods. The research instrumental used are self-efficacy questionnaire, mathematical anxiety questionnaire and mathematical communication ability test. The population in this study amounted to 43 people with a sample size of 39 people taken using probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression. Based on the results of the study, obtained in the First hypothesis the value of tcount(3.9116) >ttabel (0.0631) with H0 rejected and Ha accepted which if students' self-efficacy is higher then students' mathematical communication skills are also higher and vice versa. In the second hypothesis, the value of tcount(0.2819)>ttabel (0.0631), with H0 rejected and Ha accepted which if students' math anxiety is high then their math communication skills are low and vice versa. Concluded that the two independent variables together have a significant influence on the dependent variable with a percentage of 32.45%.

Abstract

Based on the results of initial observations in class X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli several problems were found, including: 1) Learning is still conventional (teacher centered), and 2) Student learning outcomes in mathematics are still lacking.Research objectives: (1) Describe the quality of learning mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation model. (2) Describe student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation Learning model. The research location is in class X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The research subjects were 26 students of class X, consisting of 12 boys and 14 girls. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of four stages: (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. Research instruments: (1) observation sheet, (2) learning quality questionnaire, (3) student learning achievement test, (4) interview guide sheet, and (5) photo documentation. The results of the study: (1) The quality of learning mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation learning model at X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli for the 2022/2023 academic year in Cycle I, namely 64.39%, was classified as sufficient criteria and in Cycle II, namely 98.53%, it was classified as very good criteria . (2) The average student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation learning model at X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli for the 2022/2023 academic year in Cycle I, namely 69.30, is classified as sufficient criteria and in Cycle II, namely 80.15, it is classified as criteria Good.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan mata pelajaran yang penting dikuasai oleh siswa di sekolah. Namun kenyataannya siswa SMP Negeri 2 Hiliduho masih mengalami hambatan dalam komunikasi matematis karena proses pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Sehingga siswa tidak mampu menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Hiliduho. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental semu dengan paradigma kuantitatif. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah model Snowball Throwing. Langkah pertama yaitu menyampaikan materi yang akan disajikan, langkah kedua yaitu menjelaskan materi, langkah ketiga yaitu siswa berdiskusi tentang materi yang sudah dijelaskan. Selanjutnya, hasil penelitian ini diperoleh berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, yaitu thitung = 5,80 dan ttabel = 1,67 Karena thitung = 5,80 > ttabel = 1,67, maka tolak Ho dan terima H1, yang berarti: “Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa”. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembalajaran Snowball Throwing memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan peneliti di UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli. Ditemukan masalah yaitu siswa yang tidak dapat menyelesaikan tes pemahaman konsep matematis, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada masa pandemic covid-19. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan kerangka penelitian deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep berbentuk esay tes dan lembar wawancara. Data penelitian yang diperoleh diolah dengan cara mendeskripsikan hasil tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang didapat dari setiap lembar jawaban siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data penelitian yang sudah dilakukan di UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 80 peserta didik pada kelas VIII, serta 3 peserta didik dengan kategori rendah, sedang dan tinggi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada setiap indikator peserta didik kurang pada indikator menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi matematika, mengembangkan syarat perlu atau syarat cukup dari suatu konsep, menggunakan, memanfaatkan dan memilih prosedur atau operasi tertentu, mengaplikasikan konsep atau logaritma dalam pemecahan masalah sehingga siswa termasuk pada kategori sedang dengan memperoleh nilai rata-rata 61 (kualifikasi cukup).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of student errors in working on problems on circle material. Student errors are one of the student errors in working on problems in mathematics learning such as conceptual errors, principal errors, and operational errors. With the aim of knowing the mistakes that students often make in working on math problems and one of the factors of student errors, namely students not understanding the intent of the questions, students cannot apply the formulas and steps in working on these questions. This study aims to find out students' mistakes in working on mathematical math test questions in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Amandraya. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Amandraya with a total of 35 students of research information. Data collection techniques through written tests, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the research, it showed that students made mistakes in the work on the math test questions and there were still many students who still did not know how to work on the math test questions. This research has limitations, namely the small number of students, so the types of errors made by students are not very diverse
