Abstract

This research aims to develop a Learner Worksheet (LKPD) with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) approach to improve students' mathematical problem-solving ability that is valid, practical, and effective. Students' mathematical problem-solving ability that is valid, practical, and effective. This research is development research (Research and Development) with the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages of development, namely analysis, Design stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the LKPD with the STEM approach on the material “quadrilateral and triangle” has met the criteria of valid, effective, and effective. and triangle” have met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. Abstract

This research is development research that aims to produce products in the form of LKPD based on Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) which is valid, practical and effective. This type of research is research development. The development model used is the 4D model. There are four stages in the 4D model are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection instruments used are validation sheets, questionnaires given to experts to find out the feasibility of the product and questionnaires given to experts. given to experts to find out the feasibility of the product and a questionnaire given to students to find out the attractiveness of the product. Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing the academic achievement of mathematics education students at Nias University. The researcher employed the CHAID method to address this research problem. Data was collected through an online survey distributed to Mathematics Education students from the 2020 to 2023 cohorts who were in their second to eighth semesters. The analysis results indicate that both the type of residence and gender significantly influence students' academic achievement. The analysis revealed that students who chose to live in dormitories or with their parents significantly obtained higher Grade Point Averages (GPAs) compared to those who chose to live with guardians or in rented accommodations. The findings of this study can be utilized to design more effective intervention programs to enhance students' academic achievement, particularly for those who choose specific types of residence. A deeper understanding of the factors influencing academic achievement is expected to serve as a foundation for efforts to improve the quality of education at Nias University..

Abstract

Gunungsitoli dan diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar siswa masih berkategori kurang dan bahan ajar yang digunakan masih terbatas. Pendidik juga jarang menggunakan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran berbasis teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) untuk materi matematika tingkat SMK. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model 4D, yang terdiri dari define, design, development, dan disseminate. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar, angket validasi dan angket respon. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid baik dari segi materi, bahasa, dan media. Selanjutnya, modul pembelajaran juga sangat praktis dengan persentase kepraktisan pada tahap ujicoba sebesar 91%, pada tahap penyebaran sebesar 94%, dan persentase respon guru sebesar 91,42%. Modul pembelajaran juga sangat efektif dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal pada uji kelompok besar sebesar 83,36% dan pada tahap penyebaran sebesar 90,60%. Dengan demikian, multimedia pembelajaran interaktif berbasis teknologi AR berupa modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi harapan atau tujuan penelitian. Kata Kunci: Multimedia, Augmented Reality (AR), Modul Pembelajaran, model 4D

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang media pembelajaran berbasis budaya Nias menggunakan PowerPoint pada materi transformasi geometri yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah hasil observasi di UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli Utara yang menunjukkan bahwa siswa kesulitan memahami konsep pembelajaran, serta guru belum memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis budaya dalam proses pengajaran. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model 4D yang meliputi tahap define, design, development, dan disseminate. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tes hasil belajar, angket validasi, dan angket respon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dinilai valid dari segi materi, bahasa, dan media. Media ini juga sangat praktis, dengan tingkat kepraktisan sebesar 90,4% pada tahap ujicoba, 92,1% pada tahap penyebaran, dan mendapat respon positif dari guru sebesar 94%. Selain itu, media ini juga terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan minat terhadap pembelajaran matematika, dengan tingkat ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 83,87% pada uji kelompok besar dan 87,09% pada tahap penyebaran. Oleh karena itu, media pembelajaran berbasis budaya Nias ini telah memenuhi tujuan dan harapan penelitian di tingkat SMP.Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran, PowerPoint, Budaya Nias

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dan faktor-faktor penyebab kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII dengan jumlah 26 orang siswa Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan dalam memecahkan masalah matematika cukup kreatif dimana rata-rata nilai 51,3 dan jumlah siswa 26 orang. Faktor- faktor penyebab kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa Kemampuan berpikir kreatif berkategori kurang disebabkan karena Siswa tidak memiliki minat, kesungguhan dan rasa ingin tahu dalam belajar matematika sehingga mengalami kebingungan dalam menentukan rumus yang akan digunakan, Siswa tidak paham pelajaran ketika guru menjelaskan dan Siswa tidak berani bertanya kepada guru. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif berkategori cukup disebabkan karena Siswa tidak terbiasa berlatih mengerjakan dan menjawab soal-soal dan Siswa cenderung masih menghafalkan atau meniru apa yang diberikan oleh guru, sehingga hal tersebut membuat siswa belum tampak berpikir orisinil dalam menyelesaikan suatu masalah. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif berkategori kreatif disebabkan karena adanya usaha siswa dalam memecahkan suatu masalah, Siswa berlatih mengerjakan soal-soal matematika dan adanya rasa kepercayaan diri siswa. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif berkategori sangat kreatif disebabkan karena siswa memiliki minat dalam belajar, Siswa sering berlatih mengerjakan soal-soal khususnya matematika dan Siswa berani bertanya kepada guru tentang soal yang tidak jelas. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa melalui latihan soal-soal sehingga siswa terbiasa menjawab soal- soal. Kata kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif, Memecahkan Masalah Abstract This study aims to determine the creative thinking ability of 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan in solving math problems and the factors that cause students' creative thinking ability. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were class VIII with a total of 26 students. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the creative thinking ability of students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan in solving math problems is quite creative where the average score is 51.3 and the number of students is 26 people. The factors that cause students' creative thinking abilities The ability to think creatively is categorized as less because students do not have interest, seriousness and curiosity in learning mathematics so that they experience confusion in determining the formula to be used, students do not understand the lesson when the teacher explains and students do not dare to ask the teacher. The ability to think creatively in the sufficient category is because students are not accustomed to practicing working and answering problems and students tend to memorize or imitate what is given by the teacher, so that this makes students not appear to think original in solving a problem. Creative thinking ability in the creative category is due to students' efforts in solving a problem, students practicing working on math problems and students' self-confidence. Creative thinking ability in the very creative category is due to students having an interest in learning, students often practice working on problems, especially mathematics and students dare to ask the teacher about problems that are not clear. This study suggests that further research should improve students' creative thinking skills through practicing problems so that students are accustomed to answering questions. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaran Treffinger terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Gununugsitoli Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024, dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan terdiri dari 2 kelas yang diambil secara simple random sampling, yaitu siswa kelas VII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experimental) dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen penelitian berbentuk essay test untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji hipotesis dengan uji t independent. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan uji hipotesis satu pihak, diperoleh nilai thitung = 4,379 dan nilai ttabel = 1,685. Karena thitung > ttabel atau 4,379 > 1,685 maka tolak H0 terima Ha, yang berarti “Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Treffinger terhadap kemampuan literasi numerasi siswa”. Kata kunci: Treffinger, Kemampuan Literasi Numerasi Abstract This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of Treffinger learning model on students' numeracy literacy skills. This research was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Gununugsitoli in the 2023/2024 academic year, with a population of all seventh grade students consisting of 3 classes. The research sample used consisted of 2 classes taken by simple random sampling, namely class VII-A students as the experimental class and class VII-B as the control class. This research used a quasi experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The research instrument was an essay test to measure students' numeracy literacy skills. The data analysis used was hypothesis testing with independent t test. Based on the research results with one-party hypothesis testing, the tcount value = 4.379 and the ttable value = 1.685 were obtained. Because tcount> ttable or 4.379> 1.685 then reject H0 accept Ha, which means “There is an effect of Treffinger learning model on students' numeracy literacy skills”. Abstract

Student academic performance is a key indicator of successful study program management. Detection of academic performance can help study program managers monitor and take proactive action against students who are potentially experiencing difficulties. Machine learning can be a solution to this challenge by assisting in the classification and detection of students' academic abilities. Machine learning techniques have proven to be very effective in analyzing complex data and uncovering hidden patterns that are difficult to detect by humans. This research aims to explore the implementation of machine learning algorithms in detecting students' academic performance, especially in the Mathematics Education Study Program at Nias University. With the advancement of technology, machine learning has proven to be effective in classifying data and detecting hidden patterns that traditional methods cannot identify. This research uses the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to predict student academic performance based on a dataset collected from student primary data. The dataset includes factors such as GPA, attendance, participation, and use of learning resources. The analysis results show that the SVM model used has an accuracy of 77.59%, with a bias that is more inclined to the class of students with good academic performance. The results of this study are expected to make a practical contribution in the development of more effective learning methods and personalization of academic interventions in higher education.

Abstract

Learning processes and daily life are significantly influenced by reasoning ability. Specifically, in mathematics education, reasoning is crucial for students to master. Reasoning plays a vital role in the development of mathematical thinking, serving as a foundation that enables students to delve into and understand general mathematical concepts and to draw conclusions from mathematical problems. By applying a problem-based learning model, students can be assisted in solving mathematical problems related to current issues. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological perspective, aiming to analyze and describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the problem-based learning model. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Utara. The results showed that after the reasoning ability test, student scores varied, with the highest score being 87, the lowest 31, and an average of 63.35, categorized as moderate. The analysis identified several factors affecting students' reasoning abilities, including lack of conceptual understanding, inconsistency in problem identification, lack of precision, and difficulty in finding formulas to solve problems.

Abstract

One effective alternative for students to enhance their understanding of the concepts they are learning through systematic study activities is the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD). There are many mathematical skills that students need to develop, one of which is critical thinking. The ability to think critically in mathematics should be improved. This research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method. The R&D method is used to create a product and evaluate its effectiveness. In this study, the resulting product is the development of open-ended LKPD for the topic of Congruence and Similarity of Plane Figures for eighth-grade students. Based on the results from each validation test, the improvement from the first and second revisions by the material expert validator (Validator 1) showed a percentage increase of 18.59%, and the improvement in assessment by the Validator 1 was 12.1%. The language expert validator showed an improvement of 27.38% from the first to the second revision. The design expert validator showed an improvement of 33.47% from the first to the second revision. Furthermore, the practicality test results indicated that 89.87% of the open-ended LKPD is practical for use in mathematics instruction. Data from the learning achievement test revealed a student mastery percentage of 87%. This indicates that the development of open-ended LKPD for mathematics instruction on the topic of Congruence and Similarity of Plane Figures has a very high level of effectiveness.
