Abstract

One of the problems in learning mathematics at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli is that students' Mathematical Problem Solving Ability is still lacking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Guided Discovery Learning Model on the Mathematical Problem Solving Ability of UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli Students. This type of research is experimental research using quantitative methods. This research was conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli, with the research population being class IX in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research sample was taken by random sampling, the class that became the research sample was class IX-A as the experimental class, and class IX-B as the control class. The instrument used in this research is a written test in the form of a description test and consists of an initial test and a final test. The results of hypothesis testing, then obtained the value of tcount = 3.056 and the value of ttable = 2.004. Because thitung> ttabel or 3,056> 2,004, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means "There is a significant influence on the average mathematical problem solving ability of students using the Guided Discovery Learning model with the average mathematical problem solving ability of students using the Guided Discovery Learning Model at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli".

Abstract

Data adalah informasi yang akurat dan asli yang dapat menjadi landasan penelitian atau informasi lainnya. Untuk mendapatkan informasi yang akurat, Pertama, data harus diproses. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengolah data mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Nias dengan salah satu metode clustering yakni K-Means Cluster Method. Data primer dari responden dikumpulkan secara langsung dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan kemudian diolah dengan IBM SPSS Statistic 26. Hasil pengolahan dalam penerapan metode cluster analysis menghasilkan 4 cluster dengan jumlah tiap anggota cluster ialah Data mahasiswa tersedia 45 mahasiswa di cluster 1, 29 mahasiswa di cluster 2, 65 mahasiswa di cluster 3, dan 64 mahasiswa di cluster 4. Mahasiswa semester 8 Jika dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa semester sebelumnya, mereka semua berada dalam satu cluster yang sama. Hal ini disebabkan pengaruh jumlah SKS yang diambil. Mahasiswa dengan IPK yang tinggi masuk ke Cluster 2 dengan rata-rata 3.37. Mahasiswa dengan IPK yang sedang masuk ke Cluster 4 dengan rata-rata 3.27, Mahasiswa dengan IPK yang rendah masuk ke Cluster 1 dengan rata-rata 2.98, dan Mahasiswa dengan IPK Yang terendah termasuk dalam Cluster 3 dengan rata-rata 2,93. Cluster yang terbentuk dikatakan baik dimana cluster memiliki perbedaan signifikan dibuktikan dengan nilai uji ANOVA signifikan < 0.05 dan faktor-faktor yang, pada gilirannya, mempunyai dampak terbesar terhadap pembentukan klaster dilihat dari nilai F adalah Jumlah SKS, IPS, Semester, Beasiswa, IPK, Usia, Kabupaten, Tempat Tinggal, Memiliki Laptop, Memiliki Kendaraan, Pendapatan Orangtua, Rata-rata durasi belajar dan yang terakhir Asal Sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimulai karena ditemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan mengkomunikasikan ide matematika di kelas matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana strategi pembelajaran problem pose diterapkan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri 1 Mazo. Siswa SMP Negeri 1 Mazo kelas VIII semester I tahun ajaran 2023–2024. Siswa dibagi menjadi dua kelompok: kelas kontrol (VIII–2, dengan 20 siswa) dan kelas eksperimen (VIII–1, dengan 20 siswa). Tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika bergaya esai digunakan sebagai instrumen penelitian. Ujian tersebut dievaluasi secara teoritis sebelum versi final diujikan di SMP Negeri 4 Mazo untuk menjamin keabsahannya. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan thitung = 3,197 dan ttabel = 1,655 menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem pose mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Karena thitung (3,197) lebih besar dari ttabel (1,655), maka hipotesis alternatif yang menyatakan penerapan model pembelajaran problem pose berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa diterima.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan akademis, seperti kurangnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa saat pembelajaran matematika dan fakta bahwa hasil belajar rata-rata siswa pada permasalahan matematika masih buruk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya variasi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang diajar di SMA Negeri 1 Susua dengan menggunakan metodologi pembelajaran issue position dan problem based learning. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 1 Susua dengan siswa kelas XII-MIPA-1 sebagai eksperimen 1 (total 24) dan siswa kelas XII-MIPA-2 sebagai eksperimen 2. Desain penelitian yakni desain kelompok kontrol pretest-posttest. Alat penelitiannya adalah tes esai yang menilai kemampuan komunikasi matematika. Sedangkan rata-rata nilai ujian akhir matematika kelas eksperimen E1 sebesar 66,82(kategori cukup), kelas eksperimen E2 sebesar 75,69 (kategori baik). Hasil uji hipotesis, yakni thitung = -2,334 dan ttabel = -1, 680. Karena thitung dan ttabel , maka tolak Ha terima Ho yang berarti “Ada perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran problem posing dan problem based learning di SMA Negeri 1 Susua”.

Mathematics is an important subject for students to master at school. However, in reality, students at SMK Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli still experience obstacles in solving mathematical problems because the learning process uses conventional learning models. So students are unable to answer the questions given by the teacher. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an influence of the Course Review Horay learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities at SMK Negeri 3 Gunungsitoli. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a quantitative paradigm. The learning model used is the Course Review Horay model. The first step is to convey the material that will be presented, the second step is to explain the material, the third step is for students to discuss the material that has been explained. Furthermore, the results of this research were obtained based on hypothesis testing, namely tcount = 4.12 and ttable = 1.67 Because tcount = 4.12 > ttable = 1.67, then reject Ho and accept H1, which means: "There is an influence of the learning model Course Review Hooray on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. So it can be concluded that the Course Review Horay learning model has an influence on students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

One of the problems in learning mathematics at SMP Swasta Bunga Mawar is that students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is still lacking. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of manipulative learning media on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts at SMP Swasta Bunga Mawar. This type of research is quantitative research using a quasi-experimental method (quasi experimental design). This research was carried out at SMP Swasta Bunga Mawar, with the research population being class IX for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research sample was taken by random sampling, the classes that were the research sample were class IX-B as the experimental class, and class IX-C as the control class. The instrument used in this research is a written test in the form of a description test and consists of an initial test and a final test. The research results showed that the average initial test score obtained by the experimental class was 53.75 (poor category) and the control class was 40.89 (poor category). while the average final test score for the ability to understand mathematical concepts obtained by the experimental class was 71.60 (good category) and the control class was 55.18 (fair category). From the research results obtained based on hypothesis testing, namely th = 3.994 and tt= 1.701. Because th = 3.994> tt= 1,701, then reject H0 and accept Ha which means "There is an influence of manipulative learning media on ability students' understanding of mathematical concepts at SMP Swasta Bunga Mawar”.

Abstract

Student academic performance is a key indicator of successful study program management. Detection of academic performance can help study program managers monitor and take proactive action against students who are potentially experiencing difficulties. Machine learning can be a solution to this challenge by assisting in the classification and detection of students' academic abilities. Machine learning techniques have proven to be very effective in analyzing complex data and uncovering hidden patterns that are difficult to detect by humans. This research aims to explore the implementation of machine learning algorithms in detecting students' academic performance, especially in the Mathematics Education Study Program at Nias University. With the advancement of technology, machine learning has proven to be effective in classifying data and detecting hidden patterns that traditional methods cannot identify. This research uses the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to predict student academic performance based on a dataset collected from student primary data. The dataset includes factors such as GPA, attendance, participation, and use of learning resources. The analysis results show that the SVM model used has an accuracy of 77.59%, with a bias that is more inclined to the class of students with good academic performance. The results of this study are expected to make a practical contribution in the development of more effective learning methods and personalization of academic interventions in higher education.

Abstract

Based on the results of initial observations in class X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli several problems were found, including: 1) Learning is still conventional (teacher centered), and 2) Student learning outcomes in mathematics are still lacking.Research objectives: (1) Describe the quality of learning mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation model. (2) Describe student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation Learning model. The research location is in class X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. The research subjects were 26 students of class X, consisting of 12 boys and 14 girls. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of four stages: (1) Planning, (2) Action, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. Research instruments: (1) observation sheet, (2) learning quality questionnaire, (3) student learning achievement test, (4) interview guide sheet, and (5) photo documentation. The results of the study: (1) The quality of learning mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation learning model at X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli for the 2022/2023 academic year in Cycle I, namely 64.39%, was classified as sufficient criteria and in Cycle II, namely 98.53%, it was classified as very good criteria . (2) The average student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of the Group Investigation learning model at X SMK Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli for the 2022/2023 academic year in Cycle I, namely 69.30, is classified as sufficient criteria and in Cycle II, namely 80.15, it is classified as criteria Good.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts on the competence of rational and irrational inequalities through the application of the discovery learning model. The research method used is quantitative method with discovery learning approach, the subject of this research is X TKJ class students of SMK Negeri 1 Tuhemberua. This research took place in two cycles, namely cycle I consisting of 3 meetings and cycle II consisting of 3 meetings. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and objective tests. The instruments used were observation sheets and objective test questions. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the implementation of mathematics learning with the application of the discovery learning model can improve the understanding of mathematical concepts of class X TKJ students of SMK Negeri 1 Tuhemberua on the competence of rational and irrational inequality of one variable. This is based on data obtained through the results of cycle I tests and cycle II tests, the average percentage of students' understanding of mathematical concepts has increased by 15.67%, namely in cycle I of 66.28% and increased to 77.81% in cycle II. The conclusion in this study is that the average percentage of students' understanding of mathematical concepts has increased in cycle I and increased again in cycle II. Based on the qualification guidelines in the percentage table presented in the discussion section, it is classified in the high category. Keywords: discovery learning model, concept comprehension, high school mathematic
