Abstract

This research aimed to describe the paragraph-writing skills of the first-semester students at STIFARM Padang before and after implementing the PBL-Based TAI method and analyze the influence of implementing the PBL-based TAI method on the paragraph-writing skills of the first-semester students at STIFARM Padang. This research was quantitative with a descriptive-analytical approach. The population in this research was 210 students of all the first-semester students of STIFARM Padang in the 2023-2024 academic year. Meanwhile, the sample was 60 students of class I2 STIFARM Padang. The instrument used in this research was a performance test. The results showed that first, the persuasive paragraph-writing skills of the first-semester students at STIFARM Padang before the PBL-based TAI method was applied were at a "Enough" qualification (60.09), and after implementing the PBL-based TAI method was in the "Good" qualification (78.98). Furthermore, there is an influence of the PBL-based TAI method on the paragraph-writing skills of the first-semester students at STIFARM Padang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami perspektif siswa terhadap pemanfaatan media AI dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di tingkat SMA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 375 orang siswa di SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh dan sampel ditentukan dengan teknik sampel acak, jumlah sampel 193 diperoleh dengan teknik Slovin. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah kuesioner yang telah di uji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dengan bantuan SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian adalah mayoritas siswa menunjukkan tingkat keakraban yang tinggi dengan kecerdasan buatan (AI) dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat SMA. Mereka menunjukkan pemahaman yang baik tentang konsep AI, serta memiliki pengalaman positif dalam menggunakan aplikasi atau alat berbasis AI. Siswa juga menunjukkan optimisme yang tinggi terhadap manfaat AI dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, percaya bahwa AI dapat meningkatkan pemahaman, efektivitas, keterlibatan, kepercayaan diri, dan pencapaian akademik mereka dalam mata pelajaran tersebut. Meskipun demikian, penggunaan AI dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia masih belum optimal, dengan adopsi teknologi ini masih rendah. Terdapat kekhawatiran yang signifikan di antara siswa terkait potensi risiko AI, seperti ketergantungan berlebihan pada teknologi, kesenjangan pendidikan, masalah privasi, dan impersonalitas dalam pembelajaran.AbstractThis study aims to understand students' perspectives on the utilization of AI media in Indonesian language learning at the high school level. The method used in this research is quantitative, the population in this study were 375 students in SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh and the sample was determined by random sample technique, the sample size was 193 obtained by slovin technique. The data collection instrument is a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques by using SPSS 26. The result of the study is that the majority of students show a high level of familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) in the context of Indonesian language learning at the high school level. They demonstrated a good understanding of AI concepts, as well as having positive experiences in using AI-based applications or tools. Students also show high optimism towards the benefits of AI in Indonesian language learning, believing that AI can improve their understanding, effectiveness, engagement, confidence and academic achievement in the subject. Despite this, the use of AI in Indonesian language learning is still not optimal, with adoption of this technology still low. There are significant concerns among students regarding the potential risks of AI, such as over-reliance on technology, educational gaps, privacy issues, and impersonality in learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi dampak integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran bahasa, dengan fokus pada peluang dan tantangan yang muncul. Penelitian ini menggabungkan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif untuk mengumpulkan data dari pendidik dan peserta didik melalui survei, wawancara, dan diskusi kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi seperti aplikasi seluler dan platform online meningkatkan keterlibatan dan literasi digital peserta didik. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengungkap adanya kesenjangan digital yang signifikan, yang disebabkan oleh infrastruktur yang tidak memadai dan kurangnya pelatihan profesional yang berkelanjutan untuk pendidik. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya investasi dalam infrastruktur teknologi dan pengembangan profesional untuk mendukung pengajaran bahasa yang efektif.AbstractThe objective of this research is to explore the impact of technology integration in language education at Universitas Negeri Padang, focusing on the emerging opportunities and challenges. This study combines qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data from educators and learners through surveys, interviews, and group discussions. The results indicate that the use of technologies such as mobile apps and online platforms enhances student engagement and digital literacy. However, the study also reveals significant digital divides, caused by inadequate infrastructure and a lack of ongoing professional training for educators. The conclusion of this research emphasizes the importance of investing in technology infrastructure and professional development to support effective language teaching.

Abstract

Quality writing skills include not only technical skills, but also higher order thinking skills (HOTS), such as analysis, evaluation, and creation. This research aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based intensive writing skills book for university students. The importance of teaching materials that not only support the mastery of writing skills, but also improve higher order thinking skills (HOTS). The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Four-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The development process includes needs analysis, design, validation, practicality test, and effectiveness test of textbooks. The results showed that the developed textbook was able to motivate students in learning to write and improve their critical thinking skills. The book is also supported by AI technology that provides automatic and relevant feedback for students. In conclusion, the integration of PBL and AI in this intensive writing skill book is effective in improving the quality of students' writing learning in higher education.

Abstract

Research on speech acts has been extensively conducted by scholars; however, studies specifically focusing on prohibitive speech acts, especially regarding the forms and functions of local wisdom values within these acts, are still quite rare. This research is aimed at exploring the forms and functions of local wisdom values in the prohibitive speech acts of the Kerinci community. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method which involved ten informants from Pondok Tinggi Village and Sungai Penuh Village, Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. The data were collected using observation, note-taking, and recording for two months. The data were analyzed qualitatively by using an interactive model. The results show that the forms of local wisdom values in the prohibitive speech acts of the Kerinci community were prohibitive speech acts with consequences and without consequences. These prohibitions encompass local wisdom values across moral, respectful behaviour, health, safety, social harmony, responsibility, ethics, and environmental stewardship. Moreover, the functions of local wisdom values in the prohibitive speech acts in the Kerinci community serve as a means of behaviour control and convey local wisdom values that support moral education and environmental preservation. Furthermore, the functions emphasize the importance of integrating local values into education to enhance community awareness of the environment and social relationships. Thus, integrating these local values into educational contexts could foster community awareness of environmental and social responsibilities, supporting cultural preservation and reinforcing the importance of these values for future generations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk tindak tutur direktif dan fungsi tindak tutur direktif. Batasan masalah dalam penelitian tersebut yakni bentuk tindak tutur direktif dalam dialog film “Ajari Aku Islam” Karya Deni Pusung dan fungsi tindak tutur direktif dalam dialog film “Ajari Aku Islam” Karya Deni Pusung. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah teknik dasar simak, rekap ulang, transkripsi data, dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat enam bnetuk tindak tutur direktif pada dialog film Ajari Aku Islam karya Deni Pusung, yaitu perintah berjumlah 79 data tuturan, permintaan berjumlah 20 data tutran, ajakan berjumlah 19 data tuturan, nasihat berjumlah 4 data tuturan, kritikan berjumlah 12 data tutran, dan larangan berjumlah 9 data tuturan. Fungsi tindak tutur direktif dalam dialog film Ajari Aku Islam karya Deni Pusung adalah perintah memiliki fungsi memeritah berjumlah 42 data, menyuruh berjumlah 26, menyilakan berjumlah 2, mengharuskan berjumlah 4, meminjam berjumlah 1, mengintruksikan berjumlah 1, dan memaksa berjumlah 3 data. Kemudian permintaan 12 data, ajakan 13, nasihat berjumlah 1, kritikan 1, dan larangan berjumlah 8 dan mencegah 1 data.
