Abstract

Video and audio communications have become part of all areas of work. Two real-timecommunication protocols commonly used for IP-based video and audio communicationsare Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and real-time web communications (WebRTC). Bothprotocols have been widely used in softphone and video conferencing applications. Themain objective of this research is to make an analysis of the performance of a client serverapplication for video and audio communications developed by SIP and WebRTC. The SIPsystem consists of a softphone on the client side using Bria and a FreePBX server, forWebRTCapplications, using JavaScript and a server at Node.js. The results showed that the WebRTCaudio and video communication provided better quality in terms of PSNR. This is due tothe different codecs used between WebRTC and SIP. WebRTC uses VP8 as video codec, SIPuses H.246 as video codec, WebRTC uses G.711 as audio codec, and implemented SIP usesG.729 as audio codec.

Abstract

This paper proposes an attendance system for increasing the security based on Shamir Secret Share algorithm. The use of RFID devices for classroom attendance is still vulnerable to certain attacks. Students usually make use of existing loopholes for prohibited things, such as forged attendance. Shamir Secret Share is a security method based on the Secure Multiparty Computation (SMC) concept. The SMC guarantees not only the confidentiality of external attacks but also of each member in the secure system. In the attendance scenario using Shamir Secret Share, a student and a lecturer must do tapping at the same time; otherwise, the secret that opens the lock for attendance at that class will not be opened. To realize this system, this paper uses two RFID modules, each of which is connected to one nodeMCU microcontroller. Both systems are connected to a database where the Shamir Shared Secret calculation is performed. Some experiment has been implemented for proving the concept. The result shows that some scenarios of fraud in RFID based attendance can be prevented.

Abstract

This paper proposes a basement flood management system based on Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). Basement is one of the main parts of a building that has a high potential for flooding. Therefore, the existence of a flood control system in the basement can be a solution to this threat. Water level control is the key to solving the problem. Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) has proven to be a reliable method in the control system but this method has limitations, that is, it needs to have a basis or a reference when determining the fuzzy set. When there is no basis or reference, Adaptive Neuro FIS (ANFIS) can be a solution. The Neuron aspect in ANFIS determines fuzzy sets through training data. In terms of the Internet of Things (IoT), this system uses an ultrasonic sensor, Node Red IoT platform, and Matlab Server.  Then the water pump will turn on to control the water level when there is rainfall. By undergoing a comparative test with the FIS method, ANFIS provides a lower Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and is recommended for use in basement flood management systems.

Abstract

Voice recordings can be changed in various ways, either intentionally or unintentionally, one of which is by using a voice changer. Reference voice recordings and suspect voice recordings will be more difficult to analyze if suspect voice recordings are changed using a voice changer application under certain effects such as telephone effect. Voice Changer can be one form of activity that can be carried out by anti-forensics, making it difficult for investigators to investigate if the voice recording is changed with telephone effect. This study has two types of recordings, namely the reference voice recording (unknown sample) and suspect voice recording (known sample) that has been changed using a voice changer application with telephone effect. Investigations were carried out based on data results extraction and analysis using pitch, formant, and spectrogram using the Analysis of variance (ANOVA) method and the likelihood ratio method. The results of this study indicate that the application of voice changer can be one form of activity that can be carried out by anti-forensics so that it can be difficult for investigators to conduct investigations on sound recording evidence. This research may help forensic communities, especially investigators to conduct investigations on sound recording.

Abstract

One of the solutions for food security is planting using hydroponic method and to increase productivity and help hydroponic grow faster and facilitate in monitoring hydroponic growth, sonic bloom and Internet of Things (IoT) are two technologies that can be used. However, in previous studies, the two systems have not been interconnected. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the combination of the two systems mentioned, hence creating an automated sonic bloom method in an IoT-based hydroponic system. To test the proposed method, this system is implemented with bok choi as the hydroponic plant using the DFT technique. The automated sonic bloom is embedded to the IoT system with DF Player Mini module, RTC module, and speakers. The evaluation is done by comparing growth parameters and the crop parameters. The results show that the system with sonic bloom produces fresh weight of 0,44-0,56 g and dry weight of 0,21–0,33 g. The mentioned results are superior to the system without sonic bloom, where fresh weight is 0,17–0,25 g and dry weight is 0,08–0,13 g. It can be concluded that the IoT-based sonic bloom system is effective in increasing the growth rate and hydroponic production rate.

Abstract

Dynamic device pairing is a context-based zero-interaction method to pair end-devices in an IoT System based on Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) values. But if RSSI detection is done in high level, the accuracy is troublesome due to poor sampling rates. This research proposes the Hidden Markov Model method to increase the performance of dynamic device pairing detection. This research implements an IoT system consisting an Access Point, an IoT End Device, an IoT Platform, and an IoT application and performs a comparison of two different methods to prove the concept. The results show that the precision of dynamic device pairing with HMM is better than without HMM and the value is 83,93%.

Abstract

Online multiplayer games require internet networks to play with opposing players more exciting because multiple players can fight each other. The game experiences lag, which is expressed as the quality of experience (QoE), is one of the most common problems for online multiplayer games, causing the games less exciting to play. This study examined the implementation of Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) as a communication protocol in multiplayer online games using Arduino and compared its performance against HTTP. QoE used data collected using the mean opinion score (MOS) method. The MQTT resulted in an average QoE score of 3.9 (Pingpong) and 4 (TicTacToe) MOS units, while on HTTP 3.8 (PingPong and TicTacToe). The use of the MQTT communication protocol can improve the QoE of multiplayer online game players compared to HTTP.

Abstract

Based on statistics from Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) there are still many casualties caused by drifting or drowning in rivers every year. This is because most victims do not have sufficient information related to water discharge and river depth. In an effort to reduce the potential victims of these problems, a prototype was designed to provide a warning regarding river status as a display in the detail condition of the river in real-time. In this research, a prototype measuring instrument was produced that could provide information on water discharge and river depth in a sustainable and real-time manner. The prototype device consists of two main sensors as an implementation of internet of things, a water flow sensor and an ultrasonic sensor. Water flow sensor used to calculate the water discharge, and ultrasonic sensor used to measure depth of the river. Fuzzy logic has been used because it can work well for simple classification and work similarly like human reasoning. This information can be monitored through the website and LCD attached on the device. The results of the study with the help of the Linear Congruential Generator (LCG) method indicated that greater input value of the water discharge and the river depth caused more dangerous of the river status. Whereas the prototype produced has an error range of 5-6 cm for depth information generated by the ultrasonic sensor while the accuracy of the water flow sensor on the master device is 79.75% and the slave device is 84%.

Abstract

Multimedia services are one of the internet needs with high data traffic network count since 2019. Two of the multimedia services, Web Real-Time Communications (WebRTC) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), have been widely used in applications for conducting video conferencing. The main objective of this research is to analyze network performance by an application with a client-server for audio and video communications developed with WebRTC and SIP protocols. The SIP system uses the FreePBX server, and the softphone application uses Bria. Whereas WebRTC uses JavaScript with servers on Ubuntu using Node.js. The analysis application uses a star topology and runs on a local network using Wi-Fi. After testing, the results show that the throughput, jitter, and packet loss of WebRTC are better than SIP. This result is caused by several factors including the type of codec, the type of platform, and the way of signaling and routing of each protocol.
