Abstract

Songket is an attribute of the Riau region worn by men from the Malay tribe. Not only as an attribute of regional clothing, songket is marketed as a souvenir from Riau province. The conditions stated on the songket packaging are very simple, using Oriented Polyproylene plastic packaging material without any packaging design. Meanwhile, as a souvenir product for private agencies and government officials, packaging is required to represent the product. Packaging design based on consumer desires and needs can use the Kansei Engineering method which is used in product development to achieve consumer satisfaction by analyzing human feelings and emotions and pouring them into product design. Collected and distributed to 68 respondents. Respondent responses were subjected to statistical tests and factor analysis with the results showing that there were 9 statements with values above 0.5, namely rectangular, packaging has been formed and ready to use, typical Riau Malay colors, displays business information, and songket motifs as a characteristic of Riau province. After getting the packaging design concept, consultations were carried out with experts. Professional consultations were carried out with people who have knowledge of packaging design, material needs, prices or experts in the field of songket weaving. The packaging design that has been carried out produces a packaging design according to consumer needs to attract consumer buying interest and describe it as a typical product of Riau province in choosing Malay songket products as souvenirs.

Abstract

High and continuous production processes inevitably generate large amounts of production waste. PT RPG is facing problems, especially with the warehouse used to store production waste which holds 17 types of waste. The warehouse is very small, with an area of only 16 m², so it cannot accommodate all 17 types of waste. This causes difficulties in waste placement activities, creates an irregular layout, and increases the risk of work accidents. The purpose of this study is to redesign the waste warehouse in order to reduce the risk of work accidents using the Class-Based Storage method and the 6S approach. This research is quantitative and involves steps such as frequency calculation, cumulative frequency, ABC classification, proposed 6S design, and proposed 3D layout model. The results showed that the warehouse area was expanded from 16 m² to 40 m², which improved the layout for material movement based on the Pareto 80/20 principle used in the ABC classification. In addition, there was a 46% increase in the efficiency of waste placement time, which supported more effective waste handling and retrieval, ultimately reducing the risk of workplace accidents. Thus, the Class-Based Storage and 6S methods proved effective in addressing the layout and safety issues at PT RPG's warehouse. Keywords: CBS, Layout, Warehouse, 6S

Abstract

The rapid population growth in urban areas has increased the demand for Laundry services. PT. Laundry Kotak Indonesia, Pekanbaru Branch, plays a key role in managing and developing its workforce to ensure efficient operations and quality customer service. However, issues such as tardiness, safety negligence, lack of skills, and high employee turnover have negatively affected employee performance and overall productivity. Despite these challenges, no formal performance measurement system for employees has been implemented. This study aims to evaluate employee performance using the Human Resource Scorecard (HRSC) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) methods. The objective is to improve employee performance to support the company’s vision and competitiveness. The findings identify 14 strategic performance indicators, with the Financial perspective receiving the highest weight (0.437), providing a basis for more focused HR strategies, policy development, training resource allocation, and continuous performance evaluation. Abstract

Product planning, design, and development are essential phases in manufacturing, starting from conceptualization and system design to production, testing, and ultimately delivering superior products that meet consumer demands. For instance, in the oil palm plantation industry, efficient tools play a vital role. Harvesting significantly affects the quality of oil palm yields, with losses often occurring due to loose fruit detachment from the Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), which fall to the ground. These loose fruits, known as "berondolan," are just as valuable as those still attached to the FFB and contribute substantially to farmers' income. Currently, farmers must manually collect these fallen fruits from beneath each tree, which is time-consuming. To address this issue, the study introduces a harvesting tool designed through reverse engineering for gathering loose oil palm fruits. After processing and analysis, the proposed tool incorporates modifications, particularly in the roller section, where two 10 cm diameter stainless steel drain holes are added. Additionally, it features two 6.5 cm diameter iron drives, enhancing efficiency by increasing collection capacity by 1.5 kg per minute compared to conventional drain hole designs.
