Abstract

The environmental challenges currently facing Indonesia pose a significant obstacle to the country's sustainable development. The 2009 Law on Environmental Protection and Management (No. 32/2009) establishes a legal framework aimed at preserving and protecting the environment. However, budget constraints often hinder effective environmental management. This study investigates the effectiveness of Ecological Fiscal Transfer (EFT) in promoting environmental conservation in Indonesia. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology was used to analyze 23 relevant studies on this topic. The findings reveal that EFT implementation has a significant positive impact on environmental conservation. The EFT program fosters improvements in environmental quality, encourages active local participation in conservation efforts, and supports sustainable local economic development. Additionally, EFT enhances accountability regarding the use of government funds and improves public service quality, leading to widespread benefits for both society and the environment. Despite these advantages, EFT faces challenges, including a lack of regional mapping of ecological financing needs and difficulties in the absorption and reporting of fiscal transfer funds. This study concludes that while the Ecology-Based Fiscal Transfer (EFT) policy in Indonesia has positively influenced environmental preservation and sustainable development, it still encounters challenges such as the need for enhanced regional fiscal capacity and better coordination. To ensure its effectiveness, it is crucial to improve coherence between central and local policies and to enhance the management of fiscal transfers.

Abstract

This study explores the causes of students’ learning boredom in Akidah and Akhlak lessons and examines how teachers address it within a pesantren context. This qualitative descriptive case study was conducted at MA Pondok Pesantren Nurul Falah Borongganjeng. The study utilized two main types of data: (1) data concerning the factors that cause students’ boredom in learning Akidah and Akhlak, and (2) data describing the strategies employed by Akidah and Akhlak teachers to overcome such boredom. These data were obtained through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving selected teachers and students. The analysis revealed five key sources of boredom: excessive workload, monotonous teaching routines, low learning motivation, limited classroom dynamics, and the absence of refreshing activities. In response, teachers applied a set of adaptive strategies such as brief icebreakers, segmented lectures, storytelling with prophetic models, rotating collaborative methods, and flexible classroom arrangements. These efforts effectively enhanced engagement by increasing students’ perceived value and sense of control, aligning with the principles of Control-Value Theory. The study contributes to Islamic education research by demonstrating that simple pedagogical adjustments rather than additional resources can meaningfully reduce learning fatigue and sustain motivation in faith-based subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Bible teaching method applied in the context of Christian religious education in schools. The primary focus of this research is to evaluate the extent to which the teaching methods can achieve the goals of Christian religious education, including the development of theological understanding, morality, and the application of spiritual values in students' daily lives. The research methodology involves a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as classroom observations and curriculum document analysis. The data will be analyzed using a thematic approach to identify common patterns in Bible teaching methods and understand their impact on students' understanding and application of Bible teachings. The research findings are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness of Bible teaching methods in achieving the goals of Christian religious education. The implications of these findings are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of more effective teaching strategies, meeting the spiritual and intellectual needs of students, and supporting the formation of character in accordance with biblical teachings. This research is anticipated to contribute to the development of Christian religious education in schools and encourage deeper reflection on existing teaching practices.

Abstract

The issue of nutritional status in toddlers is one of the crucial concerns in the health sector, particularly in efforts to prevent stunting and malnutrition. At Karang Rejo Public Health Center, the assessment of toddlers’ nutritional status is still conducted manually by relying on weight-based estimation, which makes the classification process less efficient and increases the risk of inaccuracies in determining nutritional status. This study aims to apply the K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithm as a faster and more accurate method for classifying toddlers’ nutritional status. The research stages include data collection, data processing, and the application of the K-NN algorithm. The data used consist of 100 toddler records, including the variables of weight-for-age (BB/U), height-for-age (TB/U), and weight-for-height (BB/TB) as the basis for determining nutritional status. The results show that the application of the K-NN algorithm with an optimal k value of 3 is able to produce nutritional status classifications that are consistent with doctors’ assessments. Performance evaluation using a Confusion Matrix on the test data yields an accuracy of 100%, with precision and recall values also reaching 100% for each nutritional status category. These findings indicate that all test data are classified correctly. Therefore, the application of this method is expected to assist healthcare workers at Karang Rejo Public Health Center in diagnosing and monitoring toddlers’ nutritional status more effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Determining the eligibility of scholarship recipients often faces problems of subjectivity and inaccuracy of targeting due to the limitations of manual assessment. This research implements the Modified K-Nearest Neighbor (MKNN) method to determine scholarship eligibility at SMA Kristen Tunas Kasih, under the auspices of the Gereja Kebagunan Kalam Allah Indonesia (GKKAI). The goal is to build an accurate and objective classification system for selecting financially disadvantaged yet promising students. The dataset consists of 112 active students from the 2023/2024 academic year, divided into 90 training data and 22 testing data (80:20 ratio). Classification criteria include parental employment, parental income, and parental status. The MKNN method is implemented through several stages: Euclidean distance calculation, data normalization, validation, and weight voting. The system is developed as a web application using PHP and MySQL, featuring student data management, training-testing data division, weight calculation, and result visualization. Testing results show an accuracy of 95.45%, precision of 100%, recall of 75%, and F-measure of 85.71%. Out of 22 testing data, 21 were classified correctly, with only 1 mismatch. The optimal K value found through Grid Search is K = 3, yielding the best classification. This study demonstrates that the MKNN method delivers strong performance in determining scholarship recipient eligibility.
