Abstract

Toxic friendship behavior among students is on the rise and has the potential to undermine the quality of social interactions and the learning environment. This situation poses a serious challenge to creating a healthy and conducive learning environment in schools. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the prevalence of toxic friendship behavior and evaluate its relationship with the quality of the students’ learning environment. The research subjects were students at a high school in Pekanbaru selected through stratified random sampling. The study employed a quantitative approach using a structured questionnaire-based survey method. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics, including percentage calculations and correlation tests. The results indicate that toxic friendship behavior falls into the moderate category, with a tendency to negatively impact social interactions and learning comfort. It is concluded that toxic friendship contributes to a decline in the quality of the learning environment. The implications of this study underscore the urgency of strengthening preventive guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the ability of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers to make appropriate, systematic, and data-based service decisions in schools. In practice, decision-making for BK services still often depends on subjective experience, so supporting media are needed that can help BK teachers in analyzing problems and determining alternative services. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of website-based counseling applications with the forward chaining method in improving the decision-making ability of BK teachers in Dumai City schools. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods and one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 50 BK teachers in Dumai City schools. The instrument used was a questionnaire on the decision-making ability of BK teachers given before and after the use of the application. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain. The results showed that the average pretest score of 43.84 increased to 83.26 in the posttest, with an average increase of 39.42. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and the posttest, which was obtained from the results using the SPSS Application, namely t calculation = 59.98 and p-value 0.001 < 0.05. The average N-Gain value of 0.704 or 70.39% is in the high category. Thus, a website-based counseling application with the forward chaining method is effectively used to improve the decision-making ability of BK teachers in schools

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing prevalence of toxic friendship behavior among senior high school students. The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services employing psychodrama techniques in reducing students’ toxic friendship behavior. A quantitative approach with an experimental method was applied using a One Group Pretest–Posttest design.Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, while the effectiveness of the intervention was tested using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the N-Gain analysis. The results revealed an N-Gain score of 0.62, indicating a moderate level of effectiveness. These findings suggest that group guidance services integrated with psychodrama techniques are effective in reducing toxic friendship behavior among senior high school students.

Abstract

Problems in interest and individual planning services at schools are often caused by social environmental pressure, mismatches between students’ interests and skills, and limited counseling service resources. This study aims to develop a digital mini book as a valid and practical supporting medium for guidance and counseling services. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, although the development process was limited to the implementation stage. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, and students as practicality assessors. Data were collected using validation sheets and practicality questionnaires and were analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the digital mini book was categorized as highly valid, with a percentage of 96.6% from media experts and 87% from material experts. In addition, the practicality test conducted by students showed that the product was highly practical, with a percentage of 89.2%. Therefore, the developed digital mini book is considered feasible and practical as a supporting medium for interest and individual planning services. This medium can help school counselors provide information more practically and attractively through various counseling services, such as classical guidance, group guidance, and individual counseling.
